I can't connect to the server - OD-Saber189 - 04-19-2009
Ok just so I don't get any silly answers asking about my computer and updating...
I can see the server. I used FLMM 1.31 to install the mod 4.84 disco. Then I updated using the DSUPDATE in the EXE folder. When I view the server in the server list it is LIGHT BLUE.
I'm on vista from my laptop. Vista is up to date. I uninstalled my virus protection software. I disabled my firewall. Yes my computer was unprotected but I has to see if that would stop me from connection
I checked through the forums and I found a posting by dboy on how to get it to connection with vista. I ran through the tutorial and followed it. It still won't work.
So any help would be great...
using MSN or xfire would work a little faster for me... I'd greatly appreciate it.

I changed the internet options so it only uses TCP/IPv4
I turned v6 off.

Ok, so, can you click on the server? If you can, what does it say when you do?
If you cannot click on the server, try running DSUpdate again.

Guys... it isn't a version issue. I have another idea. Since I turned off my firewall. I'm in a college dorm room and everyone here in the dorms connect through a central network. I think they put a firewall on that.
So the way I think it's working is

So... I need a way to bypass it, if that is the problem. So any ideas?
