Hello my Zealous Zealots Zoners

My name is Brandon Wright, research scientist extraordinaire. I come to you today representing the Starlight Research Consortium. Information about our program is available on the nural net. But, what. pray tell. Can his excellency the enigmatic Dr. Brandon Wright need from the ZDF?

Well, I need to negotiate the defense of my facility from all those who would peril her. Our facility in located in the rather well contested Tau-23 system. While playing the fence has worked for the Zoners for many a year, I'm afraid a point will come. Not in the to far future. Where the houses proper will move into and lay claim. It is at that time that I believe the station will be at most risk. Not from the conquering house. But in retaliation by our nearby part time frenemies, The Outcasts.

I am reasonability certain that should any house successfully lay claim to Tau-23 they would undoubtedly provide protection to their own forces and assets. Leaving the Miners Guild, and more importantly, me to a rather frosty end.

To that end I would like to acquire the services of the ZDF to provide protection to Ikarus should such a threat come to pass.

What I can offer in exchange for this support are a number of rather tantalizing options. From Hyperspace Surveys allowing instantaneous travel to any one of the Freeports across the sector. To scientific research, which can be used to acquire advanced equipment, amongst other things. Even planetary, system, or mineral surveys of various sites. Should any of these pause your fancy let me know, as this is just a small listing of the the many services we can offer.

Greetings and Salutations,

This is Commander Elias Wilder of the Zoner Defense Fleet. It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Wright. We've heard of your group here and there from other Zoners around Baffin and Tau-29, it's good to finally hear from your group.

Indeed, we've passed by Ikarus on our way to Tau-37 a few times, but didn't want to impose on your station until we heard from you first. It's a practice we're enacting concerning the other Zoner installations around Sirius. Some like what we have plans to do, others do not. We tend to let our brothers and sisters decide for themselves if they want us around or not.

In the case of defense. We can, of course, add Ikarus Station as one of our stops to ensure that everything is safe in the region. We're aware that Outcasts regularly patrol those areas we well. However, for the most part, we are on good terms with their families and I can't see any reason why they would attempt to destroy Ikarus Station. I would be more concerned with one of the Houses trying to sweep your station off the map than your neighbors to the north. With Bretonia and her allies beginning to stick their nose into the Taus, it is indeed a worrying prospect.

I would like to meet up with you after the holidays are over if that suits you. We can go over plans and policies that you would like us to adhere to while in the vicinity of Ikarus Station and what you would like us to do in the event the station comes under attack by hostile forces. Let me know when a good time for that would be and we can set it up.

Greetings and Salutations Doctor Wright,

We made a trip up to Tau-23 on our patrol and found everything to be in order. I assume you were either asleep or away on business as we didn't see you in the area. We will be passing by again in a few days on our return trip to Baffin. Presently, we're checking all Freeports in the area to ensure that all is well.

Please let us know if you need anything in the meantime, I can assign a ship to be based at Ikarus Station if you're concern about security is elevated since your last transmission.
