Deterrence bids you well, J, just the letter,

If memory serves, you contacted us a while ago while we were engaged in combat operations against Coalition forces and their Hessian allies. Do excuse our ignorance, but at that time we were in need of raw firepower only.

Now, to make this up to you and your organisation, hear me out. The Corsair Empire finds itself in a delicate situation. We're dealing with subversive actions of an unknown group of Corsairs that's aiming to undermine our efforts in Kusari. Here is where you come in. We need any intel you can get your hands on. Both Deterrence and The Brotherhood put a lot of efforts and we shall not see our relations with Kusari go to waste. The limited intel we have so far indicate imminent military operations within Kusari sovereign space. That's where you'll start. Any further intel we might find will be shared to you.

That would be all.

Greetings, Deterrence.

Indeed we reached out to you during the Omega-55 snafu. We realize that you probably needed guns instead of stealth at that point in time, but we figured we would offer our services anyway. Least you could have done was tell us no thank you instead of giving us the cold shoulder...but I digress. We'll let bygones be bygones.

So, you're asking for intel on a rogue faction of sorts within the Corsair empire? That certainly tickles our curiosity. Leave us whatever intel you presently have on them. Last known location, IFF readings, the works. With that we can get a baseline for our ships to gather intel and do reconnaissance on. We wouldn't want to waste our time spying on the wrong Corsairs, you see. Better to get an idea what you need first.

We don't do this kind of work for free though. We have a payment in mind and will get back to you with the specifics soon. Consider the work Pro bono publico for now. As soon as we have the information we require to get started, I'll have our administrator reach out to let you know what we're requesting for payment.

Looking forward to working with you, Senor Santis.

-J

As we speak our intel is very limited and still recieving updates. That's why you were contracted for this job. All I can offer for now are some hints. I expect them to be using capital vessels and fighter escorts within Kusari sovereign space or in proximity of its borders, most likely the Sigmas. Any Corsair vessel within this area of space that's not part of Deterrence or The Brotherhood is a potential target.

To clear out any doubt, you won't walk out empty handed. Deterrence always pays its debts.

RE:

Greetings to you, Deterrence.

Our man, J, has relocated one of our vessels to the Honshu system and has been running recon and intel gathering. My name is Leo. I'm the "man in charge" of our little organization, so to speak.

What J has managed to gather thus far is sparse to say the least. We observed one vessel, a Cruiser, targeting a station in orbit. One "Shirosato Station". J scanned their vessel and found that it has equipped siege weaponry but no advanced systems such as stealth systems or jump drives. It appears they are sieging a KSP base located in the orbit of Honshu. Additionally, when these ships were followed, they were found to be operating out of a Farmers Alliance base located in the Hiryo Cloud, one "Kamisu Base" in sector F7.

Now that the report is out of the way, I would like to speak about the payment as J mentioned. We're looking to expand our fleet of stealth vessels as at the moment we only have one that is fully operational. We require certain items and ships to make this work:

⚪ Three Luxury Yachts.
  • Luxury Yacht's provide the ultimate foundation for stealth vessels as they possess enough system power to allow for the use of automated countermeasure systems as well as stealth systems. Additionally, when stripped down and all their often times gaudy interiors are removed, they are highly maneuverable and able to move quickly away from potential detection. As for where you will get three of these ships...I leave that up to your expert "appropriation" teams to handle.

⚪ Three Stealth Systems
  • The stealth systems must be able to maintain a cloak for a period of up to 18 minutes. This ties into the Yacht's power systems plus the batteries that are required to keep the ships under a steady cloak for the duration. The specific type on the open market is "MK III".

We also require APM Hardware, but we're aware that sourcing these maybe difficult for your people considering the relations between yourselves and the Core. As such, we will source them via other means.

These six items should suffice as payment. If you are unable or unwilling to provide this payment, then consider what we've done so far a tasting of what we're able to do on short notice. Until we hear back from you one way or another, we will continue to run our recon of Honshu and these...renegade Corsairs.

Regards,
Leo

Greetings again.

Further information. We've moved our mobile command center one system over in Sigma-19 in order to facilitate faster resupply and response times. If you or your ships see "Echelon. One", that's one our new purchases from a wealthy Freelancer that we utilize as a mobile operating base.

We've attached some further info. Feel free to look over it as you see fit. We've had some down time the past several hours. However, J has indicated that he's preparing another recon run of the area.

Finally, we were contacted by a "Hokori.no.Tsumi" asking if we were a Kusari vessel. We didn't respond. We are assuming it was a wide net transmission in order for our receiver to pick it up. We doubt they would be able to detect us locally. However, it may work in your favor if they are someone you can recruit to aid you in your fight against these rogue Corsairs.

Let us know if we're able to assist further.

Regards,
Leo

Tentative Final Report

Encryption Level
Muninn - Unbreakable

Greetings again.

The following is J's tentative final report on the situation in Honshu:

J Wrote:"The Renegade Corsairs attempting to destroy a KSP base in Kusari is far from out of the ordinary. However, what is out of the ordinary is the fact that these Corsairs are ignoring all commands from the Elders in space. Citing only "We are under orders." From where these orders come from is, at present, unknown.

"The group is fairly organized with their crews and captains being adept at fleet warfare. They also appear to have won many independent non-fleet Corsair vessels over to their side. We could be witnessing the beginning of a Corsair civil war here. What with the elders calling them renegades and rogues, it makes you wonder if we'll be seeing any fleet action against them in the coming months if they remain persistent.

"As for their loadouts, they are fairly complex without any of the advanced technology that we employ such as Cloaks and Jump Drives. Instead, they opt for heavy weaponry meant for destroying stations while others employ more traditional weaponry used in fending off would be defenders of the station in question.

"As for the reason they targeted this station specifically, we have no intel on that as the ships maintain strict tightbeam transmissions between each other with very little chatter being detected on open comms. with exception to some of the independent vessels that can be seen assisting them from time to time. Many theories abound as to the reason for this specific station in question, but for the sake of keeping this report strictly to the facts, we will not be going any deeper into those theories unless requested by the client.

"In closing, the group renegades are well armed, well organized, and fiercely focused on destroying the station whilst ignoring orders from both the Elders in The Brotherhood as well as ignoring Deterrence, the other large Corsair organization within the Empire. What this means for the future of the Empire is unknown at present, but we will continue our recon and append any additional discoveries to this final report as necessary.

"We will continue our silent vigil over the events in Honshu and advise of any further developments or discoveries."

With the greatest respect as always,
-J

We will maintain our operations in Honshu and advise you of any further developments.

Regards,
Leo

Leo,

Excuses for the radio silence. Our high command was centralizing the intel coming from you and from our fighter wings in Honshu. Despite our best efforts they made quick work of Shirosato. We only had time to rally whatever limited patrols we had in the area.

Now, I know we owe you, but we deem your price too steep. We don't have any ship of that type in our inventory, and even if we had, be sure we won't just give them away that easy. But I might have a plan that will get you what you need. As for the Stealth Systems, that's out of the question, but I can share you one of my contacts. He will be more than happy to provide them, for a price.

So, I propose we move on until your payment request becomes feasible. I want you and J, just the letter, to keep close to this group of renegades. Report your findings here.

Greetings again.

Disappointing, but not surprising. Acquiring stealth systems is not something that most can easily do. I know that Corsairs generally prefer to straight up fight instead of sleuthing around as my people and I do. Very well, we will table the stealth systems for now. However, send me your contact's info. I'll speak to them and see how much they charge. The overall cost may be lower than doing it ourselves.

If you're able to "source" these ships for us, however, that should suffice. I'm hoping you can as acquiring them by normal means through OS&C may prove difficult. If you are unable, let us know. It would be disappointing if so but not a deal breaker. We will just have to settle on credits if not.

Sources report that these renegades are moving into the Omegas. We will continue to shadow them and see what pops up.

Regards,
Leo

Senor,

I'm certain you're aware that what you're asking from us is not something we have in large quantities lying abandoned in storage units. Por favor, express your dissapointment when your requests will be declined or not fulfilled as you expect.

Omegas, you say? Interesting. That's well within our area of operations. Keep me posted.
