Reduce Cargo on Liners to make them Available for Freelancer? - Dr. Richard Batsbak - 04-12-2023

I think Liners should be available to Freelancers.
Not many people use them anyway. Expect OS&C.

That would mean that those ships :
L-584 "Enterprise" Luxury Liner
TTR-1130 Series Pilgrim Liner
"Shukensha" Renzu Luxury Liner
"Lucullus" Gallic Liner

Would get their Cargo reduced to 3600 or what ever.

And if the Argument is : "NO Freelancer should not fly such "big" ships!!!!"

You can already fly a Bustard or the Bretonia Liner or the "Liberty" Passenger Liner..

I dont belive that more than 5 ppl use those ships to trade anyway... so it woudnt be to hard to them.

I use them on other IDs, it'd crush OS

I think you could easily make that argument for the Pilgrim. It's already available on the Pirate ID, which is really nothing else than an unlawful Freelancer ID, and is clearly an individualist-oriented vessel.

The others though? Not so much. They're commercial vessels for commercial customers, it doesn't make anymore sense for Freelancers to fly them than the house battletransports. At that point you might as well just up the cargo limit to 4300 generally.

Freelancers already have access to Oasis and Palace and both have 3.3K hold, you can also get a plethora of ferries, passenger transports like the Geisha or the Democritus which got reworked last year, frigates, freighters and shuttles, you're complaining of a problem that doesn't even exist.

Freelancer ID is already very strong and versatile ID, it should have some limitations in comparison to other IDs. Also, removing cargo space from these liners would make them less viable for the OS&C and other factions that can actually use them.

If freelancers want bigger transports, they can SRP them on a case-by-case basis or change to non-generic ID.

Use Dunlin, it's a fantastic beast. Or SRP for a pilgrim liner(it still makes sense in a way). Other than that, I don't think any of those make sense for a FL ID.

Seconded.
If you so desire a much larger Liner, which as also already laid out are by nature nothing your average joe Freelancer should have, do the RP and submit the SRP request for them. It is not hard, I got me my Renzu Liner with a total of 3 forum threads.

Edit: People not using Liners also probably comes from their horrible balance atm. They are gigantic with less survivability than the average 5ker. Good thing Haste will give us another blessing one day in the form of cooler transports.
