Eupen Handelsplatz is the newest addition in the portfolio of Sirius Entsorgung. It is located on coordinates D3/4 In the New Berlin system. The station has a primary and a secondary function.

The primary function of this station is to serve as the SEO headquarters in Rheinland. With Wichter moving ever further away from the heard of Rheinland industry, SEO has decided to centralize its preprocessing, warehouse, and refining facilities. Due to the scale of operations, a large crew compartment serves the station, with enough space left for any visiting dignitaries or partners to enjoy their business with SEO in relative comfort.

The secondary function of the station is to serve as a supply clearing house for any projects SEO is currently involved in. Storage Section 3 therefore contains multiple modular warehouses, with ever-shifting cargo storage requirements. With the clean-up projects in Rheinland nearing completion, station hardware has been undergoing modifications for industrial waste storage and scrap metal smelting.

History

Originally the station was an old KAM outpost in Munich, to monitor the traffic in Munich and protect the jumpgate to Frankfurt. With the construction of the newer, more modern Passau Outpost, KAM had no more use of the station and they sold it off to Sirius Entsorgung. SEO did a big renovation and overhaul of the station and after approval of the Liberty Government, moved it to Texas in Liberty.

The Libertonian initiative proved profitable, but relatively short-lived. The premium scrap fields of Texas were depleted over a few years, requiring another pivot in terms of station utility. With most of the local crews choosing to stay on for the move and the re-construction, the process went relatively smoothly, with only a minor delay on the part of the moving corporations due to the decreased peace-time patrol coverage in both Rheinland and Liberty.

Layout

The Station is divided in 5 areas:

Smelter and Storage Area: The Smelter and storage area are located separately on the right wing of the station for security reasons. All the miscellaneous scrap and refurbished parts are made and stored there. The storage room is purposely close to the smelter area to make the process of storing goods after the refurbishing faster and easier. Transports and Miners can quickly store and retrieve these from the docking bays without too much hassle. Recently both the smelter and storage have been upgraded to accommodate the increasing supply of scrap from Kreuzberg Depot.

Business Area: The business area is located on the highest floors in the tower on the left wing of the station. The meeting rooms have an industrial and clean but minimalistic look. As a finishing touch, it also has a calming scenery view on the shiny moon of Abilene. The rooms are large enough to hold multiple representatives of different factions. The furniture has inspiration of both Liberty and Rheinland. Many ideas have been mimicked from OS&C stations, to have a similar luxurious feel.

Cafeteria: On the same wing a few floors down, there is a cafeteria where workers and guests can choose from a small, but healthy buffet. Most food is made locally in Rheinland as synth derivatives, but also can contain dishes from all over Sirius. The cafeteria can be changed into a spacious hall for larger events. If folks want to spend the money, they can also order catering from planet New Berlin, though this is often expensive and mostly only done on behalf of visiting businessmen or representatives.

Bar: On the opposite side of the cantina in the same room is the bar, where folks can choose from a limited amount of local drinks. When VIP's are in the building, options are expanded to luxurious drinks from all over Sirius. Both the Cantina and the bar have a similar industrious, but calming touch. Seats and tables here are a bit more comfortable though. This way folks from all over Sirius can feel at ease. The music is a mix from the most popular singers from all houses. Seats and tables are a bit more comfortable. The bar is mostly populated after a shift is done, where coworkers can end their day with chitchat, laughter and booze. Also most drinks served in the meeting rooms are ordered from here.

Living Quarters: The personnel quarters have recently undergone major refurbishment and modernization to hold the large workforce on the station. There are also a decent amount of rooms available for visitors that need to stay for longer periods of time on the station. These are small rooms with most of them having a small window to look outside. The rooms itself are spartan and often contain multiple beds. For VIP's however, there are single-bed rooms with a bit more luxury added. Usually this means a better view and the option to order drinks and snacks. The living quarters are located on the lower floors of the station.

Administrator

The station administrator is Vorsitzender Adam Linhardt. Previously a director of Construction at SEO, Herr Linhardt has taken over the corporation after the early retirement of the Liberty-based Basti Legion. Herr Linhardt has already gotten experience administering Koepchen Depot during the Dortmund and Karlsruhe clean-up operations. Herr Linhardt has a number of deputies selected from the various departments on station, due to often being away on SEO business. Everyone knows that when the Brassburg makes port, Herr Linhardt will expect a report about any new station developments, but generally prefers to leave the experts to do their jobs.

Station Updates - Military Salvage Processing

Through a partnership with the Rheinland Military, Eupen Handelsplatz is preparing to take on the role of "Oder's recycling bin". Heavily damaged armor plates, scrapped reactor components, and other such materials are now able to be processed at the station. Vorsitzender Linhardt has already contacted DHC representatives about R&D recovery contracts for the pipeline's outcomes, and a preliminary arrangement has been made. All vessels are welcome to offload their salvage at Eupen for above-market rates!
