\Universal/-Nelson - Mission Report #1 - Learning by Example and First Steps

Today we took our Bison transport out on the road, linking up with a fellow faction vessel on a Liberty Ale run from Planet Manhattan to Minato Harbor, in Tau-44. The pay on this particular run is quite good, and we will likely see it as a standard contract route for at least the near future.

Upon completion of this first segment, there was word that Kyushu Rice was needed at the newly rebuilt Makassar Station in Tau-23. Our vessel loaded up with product and we headed on our way out to the jumphole, which ended up near the station in Tau-23. The goods were accepted from the station, and their staff offered to contact a miner from IMG to obtain some Niobium Ore for the run to Pueblo Station, which would round out our route nicely. We accepted this offer and headed out to the mining area.

The miner arrived on instruction from the station and proceeded to provide us the ore for delivery. We went back to Makassar to check in and confirm our delivery destination, but noted some strange readings onroute, and received a communication by a pirate IFF craft by the shipname Legionary. We initially ignored the com, thinking they would move on, but the readings resumed as we continued onward toward the jump gate to Tau-31.

This pirate again proceeded to contact us in Tau-31 but not until reaching Holman Outpost, which promptly began to open fire with everything they had. For some reason this pirate wasn't yet making threats or demands, but just looked to discuss some matters, and promised to not harm our vessel or deny passage past our conversation. To facilitate this along, we decided to keep moving on the route towards Freeport 6 in Tau-29, where he could have his discussion without the fear of destruction. Maybe a poor choice on our part, but the request was sincere and it did appear he was ready to wait us out if we held out on Holman.

After a long conversation with the pirate regarding his many possible explanations for wanting to speak with us, it finally came down to the ask: 2 Million credits was granted and they docked at the Freeport.

Our next system on the run was Kyushu in Kusari space. We approaches the very first trade lane ring when a Golden Chrysanthemums vessel appearred and began to ask us questions about Gaian Wildlife. It seems they have an interest in having these animals delivered...

It wasn't long though before our conversation was interrupted, first by the pirate from earlier returning to traverse the area, and then by Kusari Naval Forces, coming to check the security of the area, then more Golden Chrysanthemums! There was even a brief appearance from the Crayter Republic! In the end, though, we were allowed to proceed without any further compensation required.

In New Toyko, we ran across one more vessel, another Kusari Naval forces ship on its way to Kyushu to intercept the GC forces there. As per corporate policy, we advised them of the GC presence.

From that point onward, it was uneventful through Shikoku, Kepler, and finally Colorado, where we sold the Niobium Ore and took some down time after what was a very, very, busy route!

Howdy thar! So I dun got dun pick'n up some hull segerooos from Towel 44 and when I was almost closed to mark razors (executive edit: Makassar Station) dis gah just dun showed up outta thin air! Well. s'pose not thin since'n there aint no air in space. Anywho, he dun said about 5 million credits fer some king. Now I aint know but 'tween you me, I aint know'n about no king out har. So I dun trahd to chatt'n wit dis feller and he was all uppity about me bein some innerspecies or som'n. I s'pose some old leftover... heardy, mac'n cheese with hot dogs mixed in... dem makes good leftovers... anywho... so there I was wit the big tub o'lard and dis li'l guy talk'n up to size. He at first was a impatient lil thang but he com 'round. Dey all do once they learnt they aint get'n nut'n fer nut'n! Anywho, he tode me 'bout some council get'n kinged and kick'n de king out and some republic doo-hickies and I aint know, my brain dun hurt 'gain.

Anywho, so finally got him to spill the beans. I paid'm up and was on my way. Weeell... not much'n talk'n about after that. Swung on bah the ole headquarters fer some 'pairs and fuel... fer me o'course, heardy! Had'ta get me a liberty al...root ale, heardy heardy. Anywho, dun took the trade lane back down yonder to thems awwwws peeps fer a delivery. Count it! Heardy.

\Universal/-Nelson - Mission Report #2 - Contracts and Convoys

After our brief stopover on Pueblo Station, we ran some Magnetic Superconductors to Salt Lake Station, knowing full well about the recently inked contract that many other ships would be forming a convoy to fulfill.

As we approached Salt Lake with the products, it appeared our fellow faction ships were already intertwined in discussions with another craft - this part of the conversation our ship picked up on is in the below logs.

After departure of the ship and the arrival of the navy patrol vessels, the group proceeded to finish off the Hull Segment portion of the AWES contract in record time.

With a few escort ships providing protection, we grabbed some Liberty Ale from Manhattan for delivery to Minato Harbor in Tau-44 - a lucrative run that put us in a good position for the Makassar contract supply.

Thankfully the route wasn't compromised by the unruly types, to the dismay of our bored security personnel. Cargo was successfully delivered to Minato, and even one load of Hull Segments was dropped at Makassar Station, before we took another break on this rebuilt station to see how many interesting technologies they incorporated into the upgrades!
