Roleplay enchancement - deepak - 04-26-2009 Greetings. Today under my Smuggler ship ID i was attacked by the one pirate. And the poor hungry pirate taking advantage of no pirate code of conduct attacked me first and then demanded the Credits. That happend in Newyork system. I have come back to the server after 3 months of absense. Hence even to scan his ship I didnt know how to do. Nevertheless, he proceeded to show his machoism by taking my shields n then hull and then the cargo pod. By that time I was too much out of my mind to come close to use inflammatory words. Thankfully I avoided that. I wish characters like Arty.McChuckles should first of all dont use words like matey and all that new age nonsense in Role play server. secondly before becoming Trigger happy they should ask why the other person is not giving credits. Showing of their display of firepower is no way to earn credits. I would rather die then to pay such nooblets any credits. using roleplay dialogues can enhance gameplay for all the players instead of just being trigger happy. Cheers. On another note, perhaps we could throw flowers at each other when we demand credits. Now that is a great way of making sure they give you money. Roleplay enchancement - Jihadjoe - 04-26-2009 A pirate can deal damage before demanding anything if he or she wants to. Nothing wrong with what I saw there. You're just griping because you got robbed, by a guy who is roleplaying a theif. Get over it. This happens on a daily basis, and is standard roleplay here. Roleplay enchancement - sivran - 04-26-2009 The demand for credits doesn't have to be given at the beginning of the encounter, just before the trader dies. Though, I can agree it's best for a pirate to demand first before shooting. If the pirate starts shooting first, the trader might think that he's not really being pirated, and will be killed even if he tries to throw money at the pirate. While shooting first and taxing second may in fact be an RP opportunity (frantic trader begging for a chance, etc) the pirate should keep in mind that sometimes people have a hard time typing while trying to evade fire. >.> And that most traders just out of habit hit cruise upon hitting a disrupted tradelane.;)Though a few CDs should wake up any auto-piloting trader.:D Roleplay enchancement - David Petraeus - 04-26-2009 *shoots off cargo pods* "WTF SANCUSHUN!" "No... I didn't kill you." Basically thats a exploit of the rule I think... Roleplay enchancement - Corsair - 04-26-2009 When you get pirated, usually the trader tries to run. You have to slap him around a little before he shuts up and pays. Roleplay enchancement - johnedwards - 04-26-2009 If you honestly still beleve your rp is more solid then mine... then do explain why you say in system chat "Stop talking so weird and speak normal english its a roleplay server" Ahem very in rp of you ^^ Dictating people your interpretation of the rules in system chat isnt a good thing to start with I must say. Secondly... I ordered you to stop right when you popped out of the lane... If you keep moving you eat the antimatter... simple as that! Thirdly you were not doing anything and if you think I got an eternity to wait with a load of navy/police in the system you're wrong and its costing you your turrets... Which is my right... Sure I am patient if you show the least of willingness to cooperate. Great greetings, Arty PS: If you feel I abuse the rules for real do talk about it instead of stonewalling me and throwing senceless insults to my head. (Thanks) EDIT: If me saying Matey gets you down try to have a conversation with a true redneck Xeno... *chuckles* Roleplay enchancement - Rudo - 04-26-2009 Crazy question: The pirate doesn't have to place a demand before dealing damage, but before landing a killing blow. But does the pirate have to issue pre-combat roleplay or at least an engagement notice before opening up? And in that case, does the person being pirated have to be in a trade vessel? Could one pirate, let's say, a VHF in a gunboat and only issue a credits demand halfway through? Roleplay enchancement - Jihadjoe - 04-27-2009 Pirate: "Halt your vessel <insert trader name>" *fires a bit* Thats fine. Roleplay enchancement - Rudo - 04-27-2009 Works for me. Just making sure if there's a loophole that there's at least a good 'gentleman's agreement' clause to cover it. |
