Subject: Happenstance Encryption Strength: Impossible Howdy there, I know we're not really acquainted beyond bumping into each other one time near Curacao, but I figured you'd want to know (eventually) that your DSE passenger did make it back to wherever it is he's supposed to be on that cursed rock. Having had a chance to think on it, it'd have likely been better if I ejected him out of the cargo bay for a one-way trip for what goes on there, but ah well. Glad to do a favor for a stranger. It does have me curious, though. If there was something I required your skills for, would you be willing to return the favor and let me arrange a job for you? --"Trouble"

As long as he stays alive and scared, he keeps certain other people scared, and that keeps them in line. People tend to obey when the shadows have eyes and hands. As for returning the favor, I'm in the business of problem solving, so even if I can't fix it I probably know a guy who can. What's your situation? Subject: Re: Happenstance Encryption Strength: Impossible Some folks I know have interest in getting their hands on some sensitive documents, and I'm told you and yours are quite sharp in that regard. I also know you're no friends of Libgov and the corps pulling their strings, and for good reason if an ex-Ageira engineer I know is to be believed. So I'm curious about laying hands on something that might make problems for them. Does that sound like a payable service in your ballpark? --"Trouble"

Most of the files I have access to are obscenely juicy, which already puts a massive price tag on them, but it gets compounded when we factor in the state of Liberty's information security. In simple terms, if you admit to knowing something about Liberty, Liberty will know who told you, when they told you, how they told you, and why they told you. Every leaked file is a closed door, so to speak. An untailored fuzzy search brought fifty-five total results for just Liberty Navy and Liberty Security Force. Tailoring it to High-Priority brought up eight. This is by no means a complete list, as it doesn't account for duplicates, and if something is a problem in Liberty and gets tagged under neither of these groups, for example Ingenuus Research Group, they won't show up in the search. I didn't even add any of the corporations or the Police. As you might be able to imagine, a full scouring of the database is pretty labor intensive, and the sell price for much of this information is massive. Tens of billions of credits for some of the ones that have to do with former officers or agents. If you have significant data to trade in exchange, we can certainly knock that price right down, but without that we're looking at some hefty prices. See if those folks you know have some particularly damning evidences. The Information Appraisal System scales prices by who it can change, the power of the people it can change, and the solidity of the evidence included. If they've got something that will make fast friends out of enemies, fast enemies out of friends, or the downfall of someone with big guns, it's going to get a high score, and that score is going to scale exponentially with harder evidence. Or, see if they got some pretty deep pockets. Either works. RE: TO: LH~Ling.Ling | FROM: "Trouble" - Proselyte - 07-20-2023

Subject: Re: Happenstance Encryption Strength: Impossible Sounds like you've got access to way more than I thought. I'm appreciative of the walkthrough on how things are handled over there, so I'm taking notes. Though, I wasn't after anything so far reaching when I had the thought to contact you, Mr. Ling. The documents I'm looking for are actually comparatively humdrum. What I'm looking for are any extant combat manuals, training primers, overviews of military doctrine and organizational structure, all relating to House Liberty. The sort of thing that would be of interest to folks who want to know how the Liberty Navy and Marines do their thing, top to bottom, and might want to learn something in the process. I'm sure these docs are in wide circulation with the military-industrial complex, but aren't something that's easy for me to dig up willy-nilly, of course. A job like that may be more within parity of the favor I did you, rather than me asking for anything worth tens of billions - that'd be rude of me. Although, now that you've mentioned it, there may be something just so sensitive inside Libgov I'd have a mind to look for, in the near future. One thing at a time, though. Are these military documents something you might be able to find copies of? Do share your idea on the price range, and we'll go from there. --"Trouble"

Documents on my end would take weeks of sorting, and anything along the line of, say, schematics for Marine Rapid Deployment Pods would still hover in the five to six billion credit range. Right now, though, I can get you a stack of names for free-ninety-nine. I keep my hands washed of Battlegroup Harmony, Hellfire Legion, the old Commonwealth, and the Insurgency as much as I can, so naturally you didn't hear this from me. I don't think you even heard this from the Lane Hackers. Battlegroup Harmony was a former Liberty Navy battlegroup that separated from the Navy around 823 A.S. The names I have are Victoria Knight, Lena Smith, Jade Linford, and Yann Blackwings. I don't have much of an idea how up-to-date their information will be, but if anyone knows things about Liberty Navy combat manuals, military doctrines, or organization it would be former Liberty Navy. I also don't know how contactable they are. I don't keep tabs on them. We do have sets of info about changes and shakeups in the modern structure. The Security Force Control Extent filegroup has two billion credits as its price, and looks like some hard and soft evidence of the LSF's actions in regards to gaining and maintaining control over individuals and groups. One last thing, I do have this Basic Doctrine of the Liberty Security Force. The file itself reads as Declassified as of 789 A.S., but this copy has addendums from the magic man of the war of 800 himself, Edison Trent. Supposedly, you can find it somewhere in Liberty's Public Media, but the system puts a mere directory price of half a million credits on it so I'd guess it isn't particularly easy to find. It also shows the "Heirloom" tag, so I wouldn't bet on it being particularly useful for dealing with the current military structure in specific. It could be, though. At the very least, it definitely could be used to train up some combat-ready pilots. RE: TO: LH~Ling.Ling | FROM: "Trouble" - Proselyte - 08-01-2023

Subject: Re: Happenstance Encryption Strength: Impossible Sorry for the lengthy silence. I've-... nnh, been up to my ears, in other affairs. Understood on the discretion. It's much appreciated. If anyone asks, I heard it from an ex-Insurgent proper. It likely wouldn't cast me in a favorable light, but there's hardly a shortage of those running around right now. Better that nobody asks me to begin with, I suppose. Recent shakeups definitely do intrigue me, especially as it relates to the LSF, but two billion's out of the price range for measly me - at least for the moment. I'll have to float the idea to some associates with deeper pockets than me, should they find they're in the mood for some heavy reading. The Basic Doctrine manual, on the other hand, is well within my means. Seeing as I've made you go through the trouble of this back and forth with me, and you've been deeply forthcoming to just some Zoner, I'd be glad to front the directory price and thensome for your-... courtesy. Would this be enough to pass that document my way? I've got to admit, seeing some notes from such a prominent historical figure is exciting to me, practicality of the doc aside. --"Trouble"
