Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Deadlights - 04-27-2009 Hey there everyone. Myself and a server load of people Ive been hosting on discovery mod for the last 5 months are looking into consolidating our game into the RP server here. Ive read the rules and I think we can all live with them easily as long as people here aren't really bad about giving us a fair warning if were doing something wrong. Were all good guys and none of the folks I plan to bring with me are trouble makers, cheaters, or exploiters. Im very involved in online gaming and have played Anarchy Online for years and many other games. I personally have just created my first character on your server here and am looking forward to playing in such a well populated and active universe. I am very into role playing and plan to introduce my character in a role playing sense as soon as I get a feel for the server and where my fellow load of players (about 8 of us play a lot) are going to wind up faction wise. Thanks for any tips or advice you can give me so as to keep us out of trouble and having fun on your server! -Deadlights Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Niezck - 04-27-2009 Welcome to Discovery! I'll leave the oodles of information to those that already have it prepared. I will say this however, please don't try to fit Discovery to you, it doesn't work. People have tried it in the past, and failed. Other than that, good luck and have fun!:) Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Reverend Del - 04-27-2009 Whereever you end up faction wise, work with the official factions in your area to integrate properly, if you lock horns with them early on, you'll only have difficulty fitting in. My suggestion would be to join other factions first and get used to Disco that way, once you're all settled then think about consolidating back into a faction of your own. By then you should know how Disco works for you. Also don't go Corsair or OC we have plenty enough of those as it stands. Same for Liberty Lawfula and unlawful. You can't move in Liberty without tripping over one or another claiming to be a faction. Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Boss - 04-27-2009 Go to Kusari? It needs life up there. Other than that, welcome! Hi there, New group joining up probably. - tazuras - 04-27-2009 What Del said. Additionally I recommend reading through sanction reports to garner a better understanding of the rules, some of them can be pretty complex. If any of you need help or have any questions you can always post on the forums. Additionally you can stop by the disco help channel where you can also meet a great group of friendly players who have a lot of experience here (link in sig). This is in skype which is the chat program of choice of this community, I highly recommend getting it if you plan on being active here. Most of all though, Have Fun! Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Deadlights - 04-27-2009 Yeah I don't see us making our own faction any time soon, if ever. I definitely want to try and join an area that is in need of people and will take my fellows with me where ever we head. I definitely wont try and make my own faction or treat this as my server to play with. We just want a good place to role play and pvp and make freelancer more full and playable than our empty old server. So far its been fun and I am looking forward to really making contact with some of the factions to get a feel for the people and who we might want to join. (whos cool, who needs players, whos active, helpful ect) Thanks for your quick response and welcome here! Assuming we don't encounter a large base of vets on the server who are total snobs and nazis trying to exclude new people (a danger in some online role playing games with real role playing) I cant see any reason we would leave. It could go either way but Im hopeful that this server has good people running it and investing in it and so far in my very brief play this seems possible. Thanks again for the welcome and Id love any more advice on factions and ideas for play for me and my crew! Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Othman - 04-27-2009 If you are looking for a faction that needs members, Unioners are one of them. There must be some other factions too that could use new members of course. Anyway, good luck with your stay here. Hi there, New group joining up probably. - tazuras - 04-27-2009 I dont think there even is a kruger faction. And, uhh, Gallia could always us more people, my council faction is pretty cool.... Or you could be in th GRN or GRP so we have someone to fight. Though honestly it may not be the best place for newcomers. Hi there, New group joining up probably. - MrHeadphones - 04-27-2009 Welcome to our Discovery server. It's always nice to have more people online. Most of us tend to talk to people if there are problems, although some are slightly less nice about it than others. I guess you've probably seen the IDs on your old server and know what's available, but anyway: Watch out for the Keepers, the Nomads, das Wilde, the SCRA, the Phantoms, Mon'star and the Cabbage Hunter. Hi there, New group joining up probably. - Deadlights - 04-27-2009 Thanks again, and yeah Im definitely in the market for a faction. I hosted and played by far the most on our last server which ran V4.84 of the game. I have a crew of real life friends consisting of 8 people here in my home town who play a bit. None of them are as into the game as myself and I see them all kind of joining up with whatever I wind up doing here as I will be helping them along and such. For now I hope to feel out Kusari factions and some others but sort of have a dream of someday making a Kusari military or quasi military strike force (not its own faction, just a small squad inside an existing one) with my friends, as everyone seems to think more people are needed there. Thanks again for any input its much appreciated as Im basically a noob here and the blind leading the blind is no fun. -Deadlights |
