PSA: Mass POB Migration, other POB info - Aingar - 10-10-2023
In the patch, we have introduced a functionality that is currently unusable due to holiday mode: Base Deployment distance limitations. To put it shortly, it will be impossible to deploy a base too close to certain types of objects. It is done to avoid overcrowding certain areas with POBs as well as 'ruining the scene' as it were.
The minimum distances:
High Tier Mining zones (from the edge of the zone): 30000m
Planets (from the surface): 2500m
Dockable stations: 10000mn 8,000m
Trade Lanes: 2000m
JH/JG: 15000m 12,500m
Other POBs: 5000m
Other(wrecks, buoys, etc): 2500m
High tier mining is defined as every mining zone except for ones dropping the following commodities:
-Hydrocarbons
-Scrap Metal
-Toxic Waste
-Uranium
-Water
-Oxygen
-Alien Organisms
Those limitations will be enforced retroactively, and the following bases will have to be moved. I will not use solar names to avoid revealing any POB's location by accident if it was not intended. If you are still uncertain as to why your POB is on the list, contact me on discord or send a forum PM (do note that Docking Rings count as a dockable station). Stations very close to the new limits have not been listed and will be simply nudged slightly to fit the new criteria.
The limits are already live, and will be enforced for new POBs the moment Holiday Mode is off. As for the bases on the list, the owners are requested to submit a move request to a new location that fits the new limitations. Starting in November, bases that didn't had a request submitted may be moved at Admin's discretion to fit the criteria.

Bases to be movedPS: There are 3 POBs not mentioned in the list above that are located in Kepler, and they are impossible to move in-system due to lack of space that doesn't instakill you. I suggest requesting a move to Galileo?
EDIT: Yes, all moves caused by the above are FREE OF CHARGE.

Isn't there an issue with people who have extensions due to cargo etc.?
E.g. Lunar Emporium, Freeport 12 etc - will this force existing PoB extensions to be moved? If not you will end up with a bizzare sight of a PoB being in spot A and it's extension 5 k away

10km from dockable stations in houses is kind of a nuisance thing isnt it? figure 2500m like from planets would be fine.
what caused some of these anyway? like i can understand hating pob stacking and mining locations and whatnot

Also cmon, bases like Isle of Skye, it's a Core 5 that's part of New London at this point, I don't know the people behind it but it will be weird seeing it not where it was

I'd say move them to Transit after that date, if they didn't file a request to move it before they died, sucks to be them.

Usually planets have at least one dockable station, so I'd suggest next km:
Mining zones - 25k
Planets and docking stations 3/5kTrade lanes 2k
Jh/jg 10k
Other pobs - 1k
Other 1k
