The Platform || Recruitment

Recruitment summary )

The Platform, an anarchist movement, aims to bring armed upheaval against the oppressive status quo of Rheinland and beyond. “Anarchism” here entails the desire to bring about a horizontally-organized anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, and anti-nationalist hypothetical society both within the Platform’s holdings–as well as any future, hypothetical liberated territory.

This channel can be used to submit encrypted data-forms specifically for recruitment into spaceborne duty. An alternative method can be arranged if you are able to get in contact with an operative; either send a direct communication towards a Platform representative or approach one in space with clear peaceful intent.

Your application will be reviewed and vetted for spaceborne duty after submitting and filling out the application template.

RE: The Platform - Recruitment - Lord Caedus - 11-16-2023

Name: Guy Sajer

Age: 54, DOB 10-11-779 AS

Gender: Male

Do you have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?: I do not have a dependency.

Personal History: I first started my career with the Rheinwehr many, many years ago. I finished my time at the University of Hamburg shortly after the end of of the Nomad War, and my older brother had fought and died in the conflict. Coming from a family of a military heritage, I was expected to take his place in the Rheinwehr, as the next oldest, and I completed my time at the academy a few years later. I entered service as a fighter pilot in 810 A.S. if my memory serves correctly, and I was deployed to about every front that we had conflict in, I fought the Hessians in Dresden, the Unioners in Hamburg, and even the Corsairs as they started to poke their noses into Frankfurt. I was eventually promoted and assigned as the executive officer of a gunboat, this would've been shortly before the start of hostilities with Liberty, and my ship and crew served with distinction in the fighting in both Bering and Hudson.

At about the time when the Rheinwehr sabotaged the Hudson and Bering Jump Gates, I was promoted again and assigned my own gunboat, we served on the periphery of the conflict from that point on, mostly keeping up patrols around Hamburg space to prevent any Libertonian incursions. Despite the growing threats in the rest of Rheinland, my ship was kept in the Hamburg system even after the formal end of the war with Liberty. The ship was by this point one of the older ones in the fleet, and she was sent to the breakers yard in 825 A.S. As one of the more experienced commanders left alive by this point, I was assigned to a training school for new officers being assigned as gunboat commanders, and I was serving in this role when the civil war started. I was quickly caught up and sent out in a reserve unit fighting for the Imperials, and I was lucky to not be involved in any major conflict at that time. The mere idea of having to attack and kill the very same commanders that I had only recently been teaching still bothers me to this day.

After the civil war ended, I was made the executive officer of a gunboat wing based in Frankfurt and assigned a new ship, we mostly worked in an anti-piracy capacity that was also sometimes sent to the Sigma systems. In late 829 A.S. my wing was dispatched to deal with a political demonstration on Hamburg, and upon arriving the Commanding Officer ordered us to fire on a group of unarmed transports in orbit over the planet. My crew pleaded with me to not carry out the order, and after a brief moment of reflection, I agreed with them. We refused the order, and when the wing commander's own ship moved to stop us from leaving, we opened fire on it, managing to disable it before making our escape as the rest of the wing fell into disarray. We fled back to Frankfurt, skirting around the edge of the system and sometimes heading into Sigma-15 to keep away from limitary patrols. This started right as the blackout happened, and the confusion of the event seems to have led to our ship being mostly forgotten by the Rheinwehr. Until only a few months ago we keep to the edges of the populated parts of Rheinland space, occasionally attacking Rheinwehr supply ships to keep ourselves space worthy. After hearing a recording of Herr Klugmann's rousing speech, the crew voted to join the Bundschuh and we made our way to Bruchsal to begin working from the station.

Skillset: I am an experienced gunboat commander, and can fly a bomber or fighter if need be, though I must admit my reflexes are not what they used to be.

Why would you like to join The Platform?: You have honorable goals, and I would like to help you further those goals to benefit the people of Rheinland.

In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?: From the conversations I was a part of with Herr Klugmann, I believe that the goal of the platform is to radically change the status quo for the average Rheinlander, giving them the freedoms that they don't even know they are missing due to the constant changing of affairs between the various powers within the house.

Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?: None that will be of any concern, though I find it safe to say the Rheinwehr would not be pleased to see me.

Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew: I am, yes, but my crew stand with me, though you can ascertain that for yourself at your prerogative.
Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed: I believe the place of myself and my ship would be best with the Flotilla, though that may change in the future.

Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?: No.

RE: The Platform - Recruitment - Karst - 11-16-2023

Name: Magdalena Atzenbruck

Age: 38

Gender: Female

Do you have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?: No. But if I did, yes.

Personal History: I was born to parents employed by ALG, and a few years after earning my pilots license, worked for the Bounty Hunters Guild as a corporate escort. Somewhat inevitably, I ended up joining the family company, and befriended Nelly Sachs, the elderly president at the time. She was looking for a successor, and even though I was pretty young and didn't have any fancy business degrees, I ended up being her preferred candidate.
I wasn't really prepared for it at the time, but I somehow ended up in ALG's company president chair at 26.
I'd like to think I did a reasonable job of it, all things considered, but I really hated the boardroom and Bundestag settings, the smooth corporate talking and political board-games. I did get pretty good at it, but I was always more of a fighter pilot at heart.
When the civil war broke out, I had already retired from my position, although I was still in official employment, and I fought for the democratic side, as my company did. This was really more what I was looking for, to fight as a pilot for democracy and the health of my house. During the war, ALG and Bundschuh were acting quite closely to a single entity, but when they split again slightly after the war, I followed the Bundschuh track instead of my former employer. The prominent subfaction at the time was the Neue Widerstandsbewegung, so I signed up with them.
Ever since, I've flown under the flag of the Bundschuh. I still have contacts with my old company and keep on good terms with them, but most of my old accounts and pensions are frozen. Now, I find myself just a woman with a really impressive corporate resumé piloting a fighter to pursue another revolution.

Skillset: I am a competent fighter pilot. I'm also a competent transport captain, and a reasonably competent administrator, for what little that is worth.

Why would you like to join The Platform?: I do not intend to go too deeply into the very personal aspects of this, but I do have to mention that I have extensive history with Erich Klugmann, and I trust his political instincts. I despise seeing what has happened to Rheinland, and I wish to destroy the monarchy.

In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?: In the days of the Rheinland United Republic, I think I saw a glimpse of it. A spontaneous, democratically organized counter to the monarchist takeover. Obviously that failed, and in my time in the Widerstandsbewegung, I found myself arguing for a more radical approach. I am realistic enough to understand that the vision of Erich and the platform is a very lofty goal, but I am tired of half-arsed measures. A truly democratic platform on a base level is what inspires me to fight now.

Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?: Obviously, yes. I was the company president of ALG for seven years. I have already retired from this position and officially joined the Bundschuh.

Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew: No. I only own a few fighters now. I do have some relatively meagre non-frozen funds left if something like that needs to be financed, though.

Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed: No, I want to find my own path.

Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?: No. There are many other things I want to say, but I'll say them in person.

RE: The Platform - Recruitment - StellarViss - 11-20-2023

Name: Félice

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Do you have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?:
I do and if the supply does reach a critical amount I am willing.

Personal History:
People tend to start from the beginning and so will I born on a now long gone Maqui station in Champagne on the date 727 A.G.S (811 A.S ) during the Civil war that took away my parents time for me so most of the education was done by the passing inured members of the movement. One of the best teachers was a old saboteur. She passed her knowledge to me and I got to use it during the fall of the Kingdom and was it a big disappointment to see all of the work we did against the Nobles only to replace them with the Military. I lost it then as everything looked pointless and spent the next few years drifting in Gallia until I decided to abandon it when the broadcast of amnesty to all serving members of military that were royalists.

Skillset:
I am experienced in making the enemy's life hard by sabotage there supply lines and equipment production be it by blowing it up or making stuff disappear of the registry.I was active in the more unsavoury acts that the Maqui have committed but let's say that it left a sour taste. As for combat I am good as a gunboat captain if you can find a crew to fly the ship. That doesn't mean that I can't fly a fighter or a bomber if needed.

Why would you like to join The Platform?:
To be honest with you this group looks like it could provide me with the purpose that the Maqui once did. The Platforms leader monsieur Klugmann's speech moved me enough to want to fight again towards the better life of the common man.

In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?:
As I understand the Platform seeks to destroy the current governments ruling over the people and replace them with community that have a goal of cooperating and developing themselves equally?
I must apologise as my knowledge of politics doesn't extend deeper to understand the nuances of the Platform but this looks like the only way for a better tomorrow.

Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?:
I was in a now defunct maqui cell so maybe I could talk to other active one but my name carries no weight.

Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew:
I did have a gunboat under my command but it broke down so the ships crew disbanded.

Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed:
I would like to start as a independent but personal I believe that the platform would need a cell that can damage the governments infrastructure and production providing constant attrition.

Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?: Yes I would, my ship is stuck on Freeport 1 as it ran out of promethene and I lack the funds for an engine change. I did not expect a patrol of Royalists in Roussillon.

Please excuse our delay in the processing of these applications, there was a need to ensure that the entirety of the "old guard" over the last three years had their feedback and votes tallied. We'll be working on a better and more formalized process in the near future.

Guy Sajer,

We've processed yours and your crew's applications and all have been approved into the Gloaming Flotilla as requested. It may not be much consolation now, but I also defied a superior's orders over a decade ago in Bretonia. It's reassuring to know that doing the right thing isn't a quality either Rheinland or Bretonia have wholly forgotten.

You and your crew have been given membership roles in the "Crew Union" within the Flotilla and are free to collectively bargain for requests or demands should they arise. Please append "GFS-" ("Gloaming Flotilla Ship") to your gunboat's identification tag and await briefing.

Magdalena Atzenbruck,

I remember you and I was told to be expecting you. I must confess that there was some... internal debate among some harder-liners in the organization over whether your past history disqualified you, but I assure you that they are a loud minority. Your application has been approved.

You've been sent the necessary comms permissions and codes and we're looking forward to forging a brighter, more hopeful future within Rheinland alongside you.

"Félice",

We can entirely empathize with the feeling of watching everything one has worked for being for naught, and for something little different than what needed torn down being built upon the ashes. Your application has been approved. We'll put out a notice for a gunboat crew and add you to the queue of users when we acquire one suited for your skillset; as well as add you to the Cardamine registry so you need not go without.

Additionally, we'll send someone to Freeport 1; Hargreaves, his name is--with credit chits enough to convert your ship to use an H-fuel engine.

RE: The Platform - Recruitment - Petitioner - 12-17-2023

Name: Augustus Howe, on behalf of the crew of INS Klaxon

Age/DOB: March 1st, 774 AS; the Klaxon was first deployed in March of 789 AS

Gender: Male

Personal History:
I come from a middle-class family of Denverites. My life was thoroughly unremarkable until joining the Liberty Navy at age twenty, though with a Naval sponsorship I acquired a masters degree in Political History alongside an undergraduate degree in Political Science, and later, an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. I have been a lifelong learner, firmly believing that I can best be of service to others by having the information I need to make the right call. I rose through the ranks in the Navy, until in 822 AS I was assigned as the commanding officer of the LNS Klaxon, at the rank of Commander.

In August of 823 AS, the Primary Fleet of the Navy turned their guns onto the LNS Harmony under the pretense that her commanding officer, Rear Admiral Victoria Knight, had been subverted by the alien menace. As a ranking officer in the Navy, I was well aware of the history of such accusations being weaponized, and I was determined not to let history repeat itself—the Klaxon had herself served in early 801 to maintain martial law under the infected military junta. I ordered the gunners to fire in defense of the Harmony. In that one moment, our fate was sealed.

We followed Battlegroup Harmony, only rarely engaging in combat with Government forces and mostly serving as a forward operating base for strikecraft as well as a SIGINT hub, in keeping with the specialties of our ship. Along the way, I and my crew heard many horror stories of the brutality and oppression which the Government's forces had visited upon the civilian populace of Liberty, and many of us grew to believe that we had been fighting for the wrong side. When the Harmony and her forces joined with the Hellfire Legion, we saw a bright new future ahead of us, and were bolstered by the belief that we might finally topple the illegitimate Manhattanite government. These hopes were dashed when RA Knight and Lord Commander West made the joint decision to impose military rule over the Commonwealth and imprison its political leaders on false charges of treason. At this point, there was naught for us to do but hope this to be a mistake that would eventually be reverted.

During the fall of Veracruz, the last order sent from the battlefield was to scuttle capital assets remaining in Vespucci. My command staff and I unanimously agreed we would disobey this order. Our only constant over the past several years had been the Klaxon herself, and despite her lacking in combat capabilities, her advanced equipment could not be allowed to fall into the hands of scrappers or Naval recovery teams. Thus, I made contact with Mr. Klugmann of your organization in a last-ditch effort to find support, and he offered us safe harbor near your gas miner Bielefeld. We have spent the past several years recuperating and attempting to retrofit our ship with what little supplies you have been able to spare. Now, the crew has unanimously voted to take up your flag and do what we can to help your own cause here in Rheinland.

Skillset:
I am an experienced naval commander. We have a small number of experienced fighter pilots among us, most notably Lieutenant Capley, and our Chief Engineer is also an accomplished architect. For nigh on a decade now, the core of our crew has managed to keep a decrepit and out-of-date Monument-class dreadnought afloat via careful direction of rationing and cannibalization of extraneous subsystems and safety features. If anyone can do the impossible with nothing, we believe it to be us.

The Klaxon possesses a powerful jump drive, a cloaking device, several serviceable docking bays, and advanced hyperspace scanners, as well as a modifiable-encryption long range communications array. These assets are what have allowed us to evade detection over the years, although maintaining them is quite expensive.

Why would you like to join The Platform?:
We have nowhere else to go. Your people have given us supplies and shelter for three years, including during the Blackout, and throughout it all, we have been simply stunned by your generosity, dedication, and passion for your cause. Each day that we continue to breathe with oxygen supplied by your own freighters is a testament to the power of mutual aid. While the Klaxon's crew are now a diverse bunch, our numbers having been bolstered by Zoner refugees from as far afield as Pennsylvania and Freeport 9, and truthfully few of us are anarchists as such, we all share in the lifelong devotion to freedom which is the Platform's animus. Each of us has sworn an eternal oath to topple the tyrants and oppressors who unjustly rule Sirius through steel rather than consensus. Your group is thus our natural ally.

In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?:
The Platform is a horizontally-organized and decentralized web of cells who collaborate to free Rheinland from Imperial rule and replace the current concept of the Sirian nation-state with direct rule of the people by the people. Anarchy to the Platform means liberty, equality, and fraternity for all, with the people themselves serving as the guarantors of this radical justice.

Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?:
We expect retaliation from Liberty's forces wherever they may find us. Any surviving Hellfire Legion, Separatist, and/or Insurgent assets are more likely to assist us than harm us.

Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew:
Yes. All 407 members of the Klaxon's crew have unanimously agreed to join the Platform.

Do you (and those you speak on behalf of) have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you/they willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?:
I do not have a cardamine dependency. There are less than a dozen among our number who do, and their opinions on stabiline will be sure to vary.

Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed:
We intend to establish our own cell, the Black Flame, with an intent to rally any other surviving Insurgent personnel who are wiling to join us and coordinate operations under this banner.

Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?:
I believe Mr. Klugmann has all the other pertinent information available to him. Individual crewmates of the Klaxon may also be forwarding their applications independently if they wish to.

Captain Howe,

To say that this news isn't an incalculably heartening boon to the Platform and Bundschuh would be an impossible lie; there is no possible world in which we wouldn't be fools not to approve yours and the Klaxon's applications, or to scorn the privilege of attempting to forge a brighter Sirian future alongside you as equals in the Black Flame. The presence of the physical Klaxon herself goes without saying, but the crew we've come to know and respect over the last three years has displayed a perseverance and inner strength that has been nothing short of inspiring.

There is a minor caveat; the Platform requests that the applications of Klaxon's crew seeking to operate snub-and-auxillary craft among the Black Flame be submitted here. You will of course be free to approve these applications here, yourself. This is primarily for the convenience of our budgeting, allocation, and rationing decisions, something you're nearly as familiar with as we are, by now.

Welcome home.

RE: The Platform - Recruitment - Suntiger Squadron - 03-10-2024

Name: Lachlan Auclair - On behalf of the Suntiger Squadron

Age/DOB: 49

Gender: Male

Personal History: Former volunteer snubcraft pilot acting under the auspices of the Liberty Free Republic. I, alongside the men and women I fly with were first deployed in Coronado to assist the IMG with resisting potential annexation by the Crayterian Republic. We served this purpose as an advance group of volunteer pilots willing to act as would-be mercenaries under the cover of being Guild assets. When the dust had settled, we retained this independence and informed our comrades of the same - vowing to not take up arms against our own flag. Presently, we offer our aid to any groups we feel sympathetic to and can seamlessly integrate into even the most ad-hoc command structures. This will be the first time we integrate into the ranks of an organization for an extended period of time, and while this will likely not be a permanent arrangement given the consistent trend of freedom struggles across the sector - we undertake the responsibility of providing you with advance notice and the return of any hardware you supply us with prior to any departure from Rheinland.

Skillset: Extensive snubcraft operation, both in combat and otherwise. If you can think of a major struggle that's happened since the CR's moves in Coronado, it's highly likely our pilots were involved.

Why would you like to join The Platform?: We have a soft spot for underdogs that are looking to stick it to the big man, or men as the case may be.

In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?: It's emblematic of your namesake, to establish a common platform for a variety of otherwise disparate revolutionary groups in Rheinland to cooperate and combat the ruling status quo more effectively. Not so different from the LFR Assembly back home.

Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?: The squadron is made up solely of former Xeno volunteers and our departures were signed off on - we foresee no complications given that we are still bound to assist the LFR if called upon.

Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew: This application is submitted on behalf of the Squadron, there's just shy of a hundred of us and half that number in combat capable ships.

Do you (and those you speak on behalf of) have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you/they willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?: The genefreaks have no hold on us.

Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed: Sort us out however you like in this regard, we have no preference and are made to be flexible in terms of operation.

Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?: No.

Commander Auclair,,

Suntiger's en-masse application is approved, pending of course the individual vetting apps that we'll be sending to each component member. We appreciate your promise of advance notice and return of equipment should your efforts take you elsewhere; and the Platform will if at all possible keep Suntiger's constituent members provisioned and quartered, and combat equipment in serviceable shape.

You're also being empowered to approve select supplemental vetting applications from Suntiger in this Neural Net thread.

Unfortunately, what we cannot currently do is provision the entirety of Suntiger on one Bundschuh station. I would request you select or encourage your most combat-ready pilots--Up to about fifteen or so--to report to Bruchsal Base for briefing and orientation.

RE: The Platform - Recruitment - EisenSeele - 03-11-2024

Name: Ernst Riemann

Age/DOB: 30

Gender: Male

Personal History: I enlisted at the age of 20 into the Rheinland Military and served for three years in the Logistics division as a maintenance technician for Oder class engine and communications suite refits. At the age of 23, I was transferred to the Marinenachrichtendienst Department of Extended Logistics for deep space maintenance of communications relays in the Omicrons, where I served as a Neural Net Relay service technician on board the LV-Nordensee for two years. I was then assigned to manned communications substation duty on board the Oder Class LV-Ymir to serve as a node point between DHC operations in Omicron Delta and MND hosted repeater relays in Sigma 15. As part of my duties, I spent nine of every ten days in cryosuspension - waking every tenth day to monitor relay status and engage in required repairs and preventative maintenance. Although communications abruptly ceased approximately five years ago, I continued to man my post. Dwindling supplies have forced me to return to Sigma 15 in order to resupply and find out why the communications and supply drops had stopped.

Skillset: Maintenance and operation of Oder class gunboats, communications equipment, creative preparations of Synthpaste rations

Why would you like to join The Platform?: Rheinland appears to have undergone something of a coup and are infested by monarchists. The democracy to which I had sworn my service is dead, and the Platform is probably the closest thing to that remaining in Rheinland.

In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?: A bit more involved than mere protest of the monarchist authoritarian Imperial regime currently ruling Rheinland. The end goals of the Platform are pretty lofty and high theory for my tastes and comprehension, but the practice required align quite well with my current assessments for the time being.

Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?: My former department appears to not exist anymore, and all friends and family are out of contact.

Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew: I am currently the only crew of the LV-Ymir, as it was an Oder hull with little need for combat crew - however, I may need to take in more crew if the Platform will have me, and need to refit for combat duties.

Do you (and those you speak on behalf of) have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you/they willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?: No

Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed: I will go where I am needed

Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?: I would much prefer long term deployment rations to not be exclusively synthpaste.
