[Concluded Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - Barrier - 12-04-2023 With internal operations on the decline and its borders relative secure, Rheinland's Office of the Executor has been considering a reduction in standing forces. Quality war-capable vessels are not cheap to maintain, and the places taken up by their endless refits can always be repurposed for the construction and maintenance of transports. Without a war on the horizon and with internal agitators remaining quiet, the military is increasingly seen more as a liability when security can be provided by the same corporations that meet the bottom line. Such concerns are of course readily dismissed by the leadership of Rheinland's forces, but convincing career politicians to follow suit is still a herculean task. A weak military will invite a war with Liberty, or it will cause the lost of the Sigmas and their Aluminum deposits due to continued GMG aggression. However, the most compelling argument has ever been the security of the Omegas, both as a corridor into Bretonia, and the source of the other two refining commodities. With Corsairs, Hessians, and the Coalition making their weekly rounds, corporate threat levels are as high as ever, which often hampers their motivation to conduct mining operations. In a joint cooperation between military leadership and the vorzitsenders of the major Rheinland corporations, a new initiative has been formed to begin securing the Omegas. Instead of pulling back and downsizing existing ops, a show of force may serve as a deterrent to existing harassment, with longer-term securities put in place after fortifications are complete. The military can move further away from the horrors of the dry-dock, while any corps with assets in the Omegas can breathe a little easier with the might of Rheinland being ever closer to their operations. RE: Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River | Dec 4 - Dec 15 - tommygun209 - 12-04-2023 Oh, something for my Wild GB to do. Neat RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - R.P.Curator - 12-04-2023 RGS-Overhaul (Transport) RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - Lord Caedus - 12-04-2023 So what there's no rewards for an opposing force at all? But there are rewards for the escorts to die to the opposing forces? That doesn't make a lot of sense. RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - Karst - 12-04-2023 Don't trade events usually have rewards for piracy / destruction of the shippers? Like, without those, this isn't really an event. It's just a supply contract. RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - Barrier - 12-04-2023 This event is based on an IRP contract funded by the Rheinland Military. This means only the lawfuls are gonna get the bonuses. If I had the money to fund piracy or unlawful attacks, I would do so as well, via relevant unlawful characters. But sadly I am not swimming in cash. I'm hoping that stuff like this can encourage the unlawful factions with relevant zoi to put out some bounties or at least log to pirate the influx of traders. RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - James Greed - 12-04-2023 So this is just a contract. Copy that. This. What's the actual incentive for someone to log and kill / pirate the transports? Edit: This thread looked too much like a dev event and I fell for it. @Barrier reply cleared it up. Greed got the correct idea. RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - Ashyur - 12-04-2023 was going to ask why not use mini pobs for event, didn't realize this ain't a staff event anyways , its a nice thing to sponsor something like this from your own pocket RE: [Trade Event] Rheinland Corporations & Lawful Forces | Operation Omega River - Barrier - 12-04-2023 Essentially, any event that I post in the Community forum is based on my own ideas and generally with not involve flhook or large scale inrp consequences. |
