Hello, I'm Mai Pham, and I own that Lucky Venture frigate - and let me tell you, I'm neck-deep in debts for all sorts of reasons, some explainable, some not. I like to keep a bit of independence, but I ain't gonna turn down some work right now - credits would really come in handy.

You guys run any scrapyards where I could make some scratch with my ship and also help out my Junker buddies?

Mai Pham,

Hello and thank you for reaching out. Currently we have two bases in operation. One in Omega-11 , Junker's Town, and one in Inverness, San Juan. San Juan, in inverness, is currently buying Scrap Metal for refinement into basic Alloy as well as having a thriving black market operation. As for Junker's Town, it too has a thriving black market operation and currently operates a minor diamond processing operation however that is only currently in a testing phase and we are not sure if we will keep it running long term. These installations are also paying fair market values for all standard base supplies such as Food, Water, Oxygen, and Basic Alloy.

The Congress is always looking for able bodied captains and crews, I hope to see you in space.

Hey Rick, thanks for sending a reply back to me. So, I'm markin' down bases in Inverness and Omega-11. San Juan seems kinda ideal for me considering my whereabouts around Liberty and Bretonia, but I haven't really sniffed around Omegas much yet. I'm completely clueless 'bout that region.

I can't help but wonder - how did you actually stumble into something as lucrative as your own diamond minin' operation?

Mai,

It was quite simple really, we Junkers as you know are always looking for a market to get in on. Unsurprisingly DHC and Hessians are too busy trying to even care about a little upstart station. While we don't actually do the mining we do offer safe harbor to independent miners, and anyone else willing to brave the Von Rohe belt. While we don't have the fanciest tech in the world and the going is slow it is showing to be profitable. Also, the location also places us in a prime spot to utilize the Vespucci Corridor to bring Artifacts and Hessian Tears into Liberty. Daumann can't care because they have their hands full with the Hessians as I said, and the Hessians don't care because we're taking Diamonds from Daumann, it's a win-win all around. And the Corsairs are happy we have a place to move Artifacts through into one of their biggest markets while they don't have to hike all the way to Liberty.

I am curious myself, "Mai Pham" isn't the most common name outside Kusari Space, how did you come to be a Junker anyways?

Hey Rick, a pretty well-thought-out diamond operation. Sounds quite profitable.

And yeah, you're right - my old folks are from the Gas Miners Guild back before Hogosha and Orbital Spa and Cruise screwed over their artifact trade. I guess once their business went south, they weren't too keen on going back to the corporate life in the Guild.

Hey Rick, I checked out one of your bases, San Juan in Inverness, and it was pretty much falling apart like Rochester these days, so I brought in some supplies to get your folks there back to work and patch things up.

Should I go take a look at your other base just to be safe?

Mai,

I swear good help is hard to find these days then some shows up!

You may find that your accounts just got a little bit deeper, Keep up the good work and there is plenty more where that came from.

As for the Omnega-11 base; no need that is where I am currently transmitting from. I left from Inverness a few weeks ago after we started getting call outs from Junker's Town about it phasing back into existence after The Pulse somewhere in the Omegas and that the station was in need of critical resupply. With operations here just about sorted I'll be heading back out that way. Personally the Omegas are just too hot, literally and metaphorically, for my tastes.

Hey Rick - thanks a bunch for the extra creds, they sure come in handy right now. Hey Erebos - thanks for the warm welcome, and could you grant me permission to dock at your refinery in Dublin? Last time I tried it I received a big 'nope' from it.

Got one or two more questions - listen, have you folks ever tried hydroponics or toxic waste processing? The Mollys are interested in MOX for their own stations, and maybe it could pay off to sell them some. Leeds and New London might have enough for its production.

Rick, why don't you have hydroponics on San Juan? Does it not make sense, or have you not tried it yet? The thing is, there's quite a bit of ice around there that could be used for more than just supplying the station with water.

Hey Rick, your San Juan is starting to look kinda nice, you know? I hauled in whatever supplies could squeeze in there. Managed to 'borrow' some decent alloy stuff in Ontario, so there's now stuff to patch things up.

And yeah, just keep an eye out. I got jumped by those Xenos on the way, and they poked a few extra holes in my ship, some Cobra and Taipan, real nutjobs, wanted to steal my prize. Thankfully, some junk that fell off the Lucky Venture messed with their cruise disruptors, giving me a chance to delta back home.

Mai,

You really are continuing to impress me, I sent some more credits your way.

I just swung by, place looks nice, I seriously owe you one. I talked to the loadmaster and there should be a new set of contracts ready for you if you are looking for money. Don't worry about the Optronics I have another party on them as they are essentially impossible for us Junker's to get a hold of.

As for the Hydroponics system, that isn't a terrible thought. I'll have to talk with the stations crew and see what they think, currently most of them are fully employed in other sections but we may be able to repurpose one of the under utilized sections into a Hydroponics Wing. I'll keep you posted on that one.
