Malta Hyperspace Starfleet Sender: Marco Morales To: Outcasts, Core, Zoners Subject: Call to Arms Classification: Confidential Líderes estimados, The Corsairs, with their stronghold at Reincarnation Outpost, have been a persistent menace. From launching operations in Omicron Delta to harassing our miners and transports, their actions have gone unchecked for far too long. It's time to unite once again and siege that stronghold. I am formally calling upon all Outcasts, Core, and Zoners to join forces and lend whatever ships they can spare for the destruction of Reincarnation Outpost. Coordinate with your commanders and mobilize your fleets swiftly. We will rendezvous in Omicron Delta one day from now. Atentamente, Marco Morales - Director Alfa TRANSMISSION END

Subject: Call to Arms Priority: High Gentili Signori,
I am, regretfully, not as close to the Maltese people as I may have once been, but I still feel compelled to tell you a tale, for I believe that you may have forgotten it.
It is a tale of a corporation, greedy and vile, venturing forth into territories they did not belong in - the very Edge of the world, the depths of the Omicrons. Taking it upon themselves to carve out a home, carving it directly out of our domain. Of course, there is an implication here, a burden we must all bear: we allowed this. We did not intervene when we still had the opportunity. We let these unwelcome guests, this plague, fester and grow. They built fortresses that would cost us dearly to assault and demolish. Unfortunately, that is not even the worst of it. Pilots employed by this corporation, often hardened Bounty Hunters from the Houses, actively sought out Maltese vessels. Numerous shipments of the Orange Dream were intercepted and - presumably - destroyed. The tragedy here is twofold: the loss of our precious harvests, of that which makes us who we are. And the loss of something even more valuable: Maltese lives. It matters not how many of these interlopers our aces took with them. Nothing harms our great nation more than the waste of treasured Maltese lives. I believe that you, signore Morales, would fully agree that there is no graver sin one can commit than to take the life of an Outcast. A sin I personally cannot forgive. Yet here you are, addressing the proud Maltese nation, calling us to arms, daring to ask us to fight beside our sworn enemies: the Core. This corporation, ever growing in ambition, growing ever more delusional. These days, they refer to themselves as an Empire. Do you not see what that implies? An Empire seeking to expand ever outwards, to conquer its neighbors. An Empire we are allowing to exist, right on our doorstep. A looming threat we refuse to face. No, instead we choose to bury our heads in the sand, to look the other way, believing that if we simply refuse to acknowledge this danger, if instead we cooperate with it, it will not threaten our existence. That it will simply go away of its own accord. A disgusting display of fear, an emotion I believed us all to be above. What I see in you, signore, is a frightened man, allowing his fear to take control, allowing his fear to weaken our proud nation. I hereby address all proud, fearless Maltese warriors: I do not oppose this culling of the Cretan hordes. No, I support it fully. But do not allow your fear to blind you to the truth: this slaughter must extend, too, to the Core. In doing so, we will weaken not just one hostile Empire, but two. We will remind them who we are. We will remind them that we are not to be trifled with. Take this opportunity to drive a knife into the backs of two of our greatest enemies. And to twist this knife, leaving them with a wound they will not recover from in our lifetimes. In fede, Cipriano Adimari RE: To: Outcasts, Core, Zoners - monmarfori - 01-17-2024 COMM-ID: De Luca
To: Cipriano Adimari Subject: Call to Arms Priority: High This is De Luca, representing one of the líderes of the Legión Maltesa. The Legión's main and foremost purpose is to ensure the security of Planet Malta and our home system, Omicron Alpha. As much as I love hunting down Corsairs in my free time, I'd agree on you that the Core are somewhat opportunistic in nature, and wouldn't hesitate to try to challenge us should they feel so, up until we least expect it. The Hyperspace Starfleet, in particular, should be reminded that openly supporting the Core is ultimately something that will hinder our Maltese well-being in the long run, including a possible repeat of a disaster comparable to that of the tragic Slave Revolt that happened a few years ago. As far as we know, we're not the type that supports the Core or their policies. If any Core shows up in Omicron Alpha, they're free game. Not only here, but also everywhere. I remember an incident a few months ago where two Core gunships came close to Planet Malta with the intention of insulting our pride. Every bit of evidence proves that the Core is not to be trusted, and we are right in this regard. The fact that some stronghold belonging to the Corsairs is about to be sieged isn't that important to us; in fact, this is not our main priority. As true warriors of Malta, your assistance in helping us dispel the false notion of an "alliance" with the Core is most certainly appreciated. Your proposal is something we shall certainly accept, as it means we can strike them when they least expect it. To weaken two of our adversaries is a much better outcome than weakening one of our adversaries and strengthening a certainly would-be adversary. En servicio de Malta, Legionario De Luca. Malta Hyperspace Starfleet Sender: Marco Morales To: Cipriano Adimari, De Luca Subject: Re: Call to Arms Classification: Restricted Señores Adimari y Luca, There is no greater sin than taking the life of an Outcast, I fully agree on that and my own intention is to minimize such losses. My intention in calling for united action against the Corsairs is not an endorsement of war but a pragmatic approach to safeguarding our homeland. You perceive me as a man driven by fear, a display you find disgusting. Allow me to clarify, fear has no place in my decisions. Instead, my focus is solely on the welfare of the Maltese people. This is not a time for prideful displays or the initiation of unnecessary conflicts. The recent victory at Freeport 9 showcased the outcome joint action can deliver. However, an important component of this victory our people have overlooked is the fact that it took the might of Malta, with Core and Zoners fighting by our side, to take down the sole threat of Corsairs. The Corsairs pose a significant threat, and their stronghold obstructs our operations in Omicron Delta. Furthermore, this stronghold and their persistent attacks due to it, have cut off our path to Xeno Relics entirely. While I believe Corsairs have become a more formidable threat than ever, I intend on leveraging the resources and firepower of the Core against them as it has become a strategic necessity. Our real enemies must be dealt with, and I assure you, the time for justice and retribution will come. But at present, initiating wars on multiple fronts risks diluting our efforts and undermining our ability to secure a decisive victory. An open-minded strategy, leveraging every resource at our disposal, is the need of the hour and it would ensure us a calculated advantage against the Corsairs.
