A long time has passed since you have reached out.

Well over three years, in fact since the Erie and Pennsylvania incidents occurred. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it is time to resolve the senseless Zoner-Liberty situation, burry the hatchet and resume peaceful relations. The Insurgency is gone and defeated, their remnants have last been seen in Kansas hand in hand with Auxesia, and ever since we have defeated the Auxesia-Insurgency attempt to set roots in Kansas that a few Zoner Warships have supported, there have been no hostilities.

Time heals old wounds, it has become disruptive to our operations not to be able to utilise Zoner bases, and I am sure despite their dislike for the houses, Zoners and Outworlders alike have an interest in ending lasting hostilities.

So I am here, reaching out, as I have known you for years - would you once again be the mediator, a voice of reason and peace, someone who could bring final resolution to this all but forgotten conflict? Our reports indicate that your Zoner faction has been gaining traction, perhaps with your increased stature you now have the diplomatic firepower, pardon the term, to put the violent past behind Liberty and Zoners. Is this process something you would entertain leading?

Doc,

Three years ago, the geopolitical situation was largely different - we were in the final stages of the siege of Veracruz, and the Congress had all the incentive and political good will from the people to make sure the Insurgency has no safe harbor they could rebuild from en masse. You may not like when I say this- but the evidence of Insurgency presence on Erie gave them the power to act. We also didn't have the large exploratory push of the newly opened frontier I can't get into the details about that we have now.

There was a short time in Kansas where the Insurgency and Auxesia aided by Coalition and a handful of Zoner Warships have tried to set root in Kansas, but besides us who successfully repelled their attempts, the general apathy towards action is so strong that the Primary Fleets have begun to actively discourage their own forces from seeing action. They have since scaled down their operations considerably, and the incentive to keep tensions high have subsided- three years is a long time to make sure the potential Insurgent cells on Erie have been neutralized.

It will be the Primary Fleets the Government and Congress itself that need to get on board - perhaps we can initiate the contact on our side, and you can confide with fellow Zoners this time to make sure the time is right before direct negotiations begin?
