There's around 50 people during the day (Europe time), down to around 10 during the night. There are events, the story continues, etc... There are a lot going on, and yes, even now!

Welcome back, I've also just returned after a loooong hiatus. In my opinion, the mod is in the best place it's ever been, the community has shrunk of course but it's only natural as we all get older and have less time to play.
That being said, even if the community has shrunk, there are still more than enough people that play in order for you to find activity whenever you'd like. There are unofficial events fairly often that bring +20 players, and there are big fleet battles probably happening nearly every day.
