Good evening, brothers from Gran Canaria, believers in the Faith of Deux, and non-believers.

I'm adressing to all of you because today have had knowledge of an unfortunate situation that is happening on the planet. A situation that shames our Church and the Sacred Mandate of our Lord Deux.

Recently I've been able to hear the testimony of several of our members recently returned from Gran Canaria, reporting that certain people are trying to recruit or enlist people as members of the Church, using nefarious methods, such as deception or extortion. Vile stratagems such as only offering good food in certain establishments to people who sign a "form" for admission to the NCC, or ship repair shops in which service is only provided to people who sign that "form."

Well, first of all I want to make it clear that the New Covenant Church doesn't even have currently offices in Gran Canaria, nor does it have clergy officials deployed there. We may be able to return to the planet soon in the future and refound what was once our first settlement, but for now our only headquarters is on Planet Pygar. Therefore, anyone who currently approaches you in Gran Canaria pretending to be a representative of our Holy Church is a disgusting impostor, and any place that claims to be an official establishment of the NCC is false.

Secondly, I would like to remind all of you that it's directly against to our Holy Faith to carry out active recruitment of acolytes, or any type of forced "conversions". Some of our believers preach the Word of Deux, and anyone interested in hearing it's welcome, but under no circumstances does this Church allow people to be forced to enter in exchange for a service. Likewise, no type of "sign-up forms" are issued to "enlist" in our Faith. Anyone who gives you any type of document like that is trying to commit a scam, and doesn't represent this Holy Institution at all.

At this time we don't know yet if the people who are perpetrating these types of actions are outside our Faith, or are within our creed. I sincerely hope that this is simply a band of heartless people who are using these infamous tricks to scam unsuspecting travelers, but if anyone of the culprits of all this have the slightest connection with the New Covenant Church, it's hereby decreed that they're immediately excommunicated. May Deux curse them and never find peace, and if they falls into our hands will be punished with the full weight of the Laws of the Church.

From here I encourage all people in Gran Canaria who are aware of these events to immediately report these impious blasphemous criminals to the law enforcement of the planet. Likewise, we're going to contact the planet's authorities to offer our full cooperation in order to solve this problem, and we'll send some of our security advisors to conduct their own investigation. The Church will appreciate any information regarding the identity of any person involved in the scams.
