Ionic Laboratories is an educational, research, and manufacturing facility and the headquarters of Ionic Incorporated, a subsidiary of Kishiro Technologies.
Constructed near the Galileo jumpgate in Shikoku in early 834 under the terms of the same grant that laid the foundation of its operating company, the facility aims to train the next generation of Kishiro's scientists and engineers, and maintain its parent company's place at the leading edge of technological development in the sector.

Education & Research

The main promenade

Ionic offers postgraduate programs to alumni from accredited institutions across Sirius. Preferential selection will be applied for applicants with degrees in the fields most relevant to the company's technological focus, physics and engineering in particular, but every submitter will be evaluated on their own merits.

Students can gain hands-on experience at our state-of-the-art laboratories and manufacturing facilities, taking part in the development of some of the sector's most advanced technology. Our dedication to educational excellence means strict scrutiny in the selection process and as a result, an exclusive and high focus environment, with a student to faculty ratio no greater than fifteen to one.
The station's facilities are the newest in the sector, a fresh, cosmopolitan environment with access to all academic resources the scientific community's cutting edge has to offer, and the comforts of the colonies' most renowned institutions.

Manufacturing & Sales

Students at Ionic

Together with its academic facilities, our industrial segments form an integrated system of applied technological workmanship. Initially housed in the same modular station construction, rapid expansion of both soon necessitated the separation between the high-tech academic Laboratories, and a new heavy industry annex, Ionic Industries. Electronics assembly can source from the station's own platinum smelter, drawing from the rich deposits in neighboring Galileo, and offering opportunities for ascending metallurgists.

The heart of Ionic's manufacturing capability at the laboratories is the field of high technology spacecraft equipment. Hyperspace modulation and experimental weapons technology are highly sensitive fields - work in this sector is conducted by carefully vetted, seasoned employees. The select few that fit the criteria can expect a career in a lucrative and highly future-safe environment.
Aside from special-order-basis high technology manufacturing, the laboratories operate series production of a variety of snubcraft armaments for public sale.

After a major expansion effort in October 834, our facilities have branched out into the shipbuilding sector. The assembly lines at our Industries manufacture state-of-the-art integrated avionic computer systems, and high performance, low maintenance propulsion units. With the addition of a full drydocks attached to the Laboratories, commercial ship assembly has begun, offering hundreds of jobs for engineers and designers, as well as laborers such as welders and electricians.
We also offer sector-leading import prices for a variety of manufacturing components used in ship construction.

In addition to series production of the snubcraft weaponry listed above, we offer a variety of specialty armaments, advanced equipment, and complete spacecraft for sale on order. Our particular focus is on hyperspace modulation devices, "jump drives", Kishiro's revolutionary invention which heralds a new era in space travel. Only Kishiro-made devices have manufacturer guarantee to fit licensed operation requirements in the Empire of Kusari.
Many items in our catalogue may face additional legal restrictions for their possession and/or use in the Empire of Kusari or abroad; it is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure compliance with any applicable laws.

For any special order items, it is highly advised that prospective buyers organize logistical efforts to supply some or all of the required materials, all of which shippers will be generously compensated for. If this is not possible, wait times for large order items may be significant due to the limited capacity of our own logistics fleet.

Access

Docking at Ionic Laboratories is restricted by default, except to Kishiro employees, and serving members of the Kusari Naval Forces, Police, and Office of Intelligence. It may be requested by any party under certain conditions.
The applicant party:

Must not be affiliated with an entity listed in Section V-2 of the Imperial Stellar Codex of Kusari;
Must not be affiliated with Samura Industries or the Hogosha crime syndicates.
Affiliates of Deep Space Engineering are barred from the Industries annex.
Affiliates of Ageira Technologies are barred from the Laboratories section.

Any organization or individual fulfilling these conditions may request access to the public facilities and goods exchange of the station by submitting this form. Access will be granted to both Ionic Industries and Ionic Laboratories if approved.
