First, farthest, fearless.

Introduction

At the dawn of the Liberty planetfall, the newly arrived colonists knew that they would never be satisfied with a single planet. Out of this drive to continue expanding into the Sirius sector came about daring exploration and careful management of existing resources and technologies. The early Libertonian spacefarer had to be resourceful, resolved to many months of near-solitary watch-standing, and possess enough understanding about the bigger picture to be useful to Manhattan. These qualities are still just as important to the DSE employees of today as they were to their early forefathers.

With the advent of jump gate and trade lane technology, the jack of all trades spacefarers now required more specialization in their chosen roles. With Ageira furthering and jealously securing the astrophysical knowledge, and Universal taking on contracts of ever bigger tonnage across the stars, it fell to DSE to plug the gaps at the endpoint - construction, refining, maintenance. In essence, self-sufficiency in the deep dark, on sites of ever-expanding nodes of civilization.

Today, DSE continues its tradition of expanding the reach of military and trade channels toward the deepest reaches of Sirius, and beyond. With the assistance of the same Ageira and Universal Shipping of old, it maintains the integrity of the existing network. Finally, with its long-serving expertise of construction and refining, it is also the premier leader in Libertonian raw resource extraction, as well as station manufacturing & repair. It conducts its many operations with the utmost commitment to efficiency and effectiveness, which in many cases translates into alliances of convenience and substantial security investments.

Departments

Space-based.
  • Transportation: personnel focus on the movement of goods between DSE facilities, and enriching the company via trade and external contracts.
  • Mining: personnel focus on the extraction of natural resources from across Sirius.
  • Security personnel ensure the safe operation of all DSE vessels and installations.
Space-based departments consist of captains, commodores, and owners. The positions are based on seniority. All new members start as captains, and move up the ranks with experience, continuous service, and the consistent logging of their encounters.

Internal.
  • Construction: personnel focus on the building of gates and modular installations, and any related activities.
  • R&D: personnel focus on improving industrial refining processes and developing new materials.
  • Administration: personnel focus on the smooth running of all DSE installations, personnel processing, and external communications.
Internal departments consist of supervisors, managers, and directors. The positions are based on seniority. All new members start as supervisors, and move up the ranks with experience, continuous service, and the consistent reporting of their activities.

Benefits
  • Company shares: all personnel receive a single share upon joining the company, allowing them input into the next steps of DSE.
  • Corporate vessels: all space-based personnel get access to corporate-owned hegemons, gunships, bombers, and fighters. It is expected that all employees eventually purchase vessels for personal use.
  • Security salary: convoy escorts are reimbursed with 10% of gross profits, and receive a flat bounty for destroyed pirate vessels.
  • Employee of the month: all personnel may be commemorated for their valuable service, becoming immortalized in a ceremonial database and getting access to temporary shares.

Shareholders
  • Shareholders vote on any major developments relevant to DSE.
  • The power of each vote depends on the amount of shares held.
  • Each employee is entitled to purchase up to 10 shares from DSE, for 500k SC per share.
  • Promotion is rewarded with additional shares: 4 for commodores and managers, 5 for owners and directors.
  • Once acquired from the company, a share can be traded between employees for any amount.
  • The CEO may overrule shareholder votes, but this power is to be used sparingly.

Employee Guidelines

Security
Quote:As a security captain, your responsibility is keeping the corporate assets safe, that includes its employees, cargo, space ships and installations. While the installations are decently protected inside House space, the rest tend to travel through hostile space in convoys.
  • The best way to protect the convoy is knowing what’s ahead of it. You travel a few lanes or ~25k in front of it, and if you successfully scouted a hostile at this distance, - our transports will have enough time to get to safety.
  • During mining operations, the transports travel shorter distances, but more frequently. That means the most effective would be holding a position between the mining field and the delivery point. This way, you will have equal time to react, regardless of where the threat may come from.
  • Do not hesitate to request assistance from the law enforcements of the Liberty and capable Freelancers who come your way.
