Hi there! I recognize this comes a bit out of nowhere, it's been a long time, but we figured it's about time we got back in contact with you and the cause. I represent Task Force Prometheus, the successor to the Commonwealth of Liberty. Once upon a time we had a good economic relationship, and once upon a time I worked with you in my personal capacity, back when I fed myself with mercenary work. Now we're back and looking to steal back the flame, and so we want to reestablish contact. So how've you been doing?

Hope to hear back soon,

Yoko Mori (she/they)

Guten Tag,

It is good to hear back from you after such a long time. So long, in fact, we presumed you were dead, and your cause along with it. We are happy to be proven otherwise.
The world has changed since we last communicated.

The Corsairs have gotten ever more ambitious and expansionist, threatening the very heart of the Red Hessians - however rumours are circulating that within their faction, trouble is brewing. Some groups have diverged so far from their initial cause, they don't even know what they're fighting for anymore. That is weakness, and this is our time to strike. We will kick the enemies of the people out of the Omegas once and for all, so that the honest workers of Rheinland can finally benefit from the resources they inherited, and own the means of production they enthusiastically partake in.

As for Rheinland itself, it's decayed into an oppressive shell of its glorious past. Corruption has sucked all the life out of the people, and it is now clear the Emperor is nothing but a puppet of the bourgeoisie. In fact, the Rheinland Government and Military have proven now to be completely incompetent in diplomatic, and especially military operations:
- The diplomatic mission to Gallia? Disaster - with the diplomatic staff dead before arrival, and even the Minister injured. Maybe that's not such a bad thing though... And the Emperor? A clueless dummy, with no concerns other than to line his own pockets. For all the destruction and suffering he's causing to the hard working citizens of Rheinland, he might as well be infected by the aliens.
- The destruction of the Valhalla Shipyard? Rumour is, the commander of the Kolleda (no doubt, a nephew or brother of some rich capitalist) did not even know which way to fly, steering his ship right into the alien fleet. One way or another, another disaster.
The silver lining is that with every mistake, we get one step closer to overthrowing the long-expired fascist government. If only their mistakes didn't cost innocent citizen lives.

Excuse my rant, I tend to get passionate over these things. Enough about us.

What are your objectives? I see a world where we can cooperate.
Certain things have been set into motion, and soon, after all the planning, they shall come to their natural conclusion.

First of all, let me introduce myself.

My name is Alise Schira. I served with the Red Hessian Army under the alias of Sophie König.

--------------------
Mz Mori,

I took the liberty of perusing through the linked communications. I have some personal reservations about cooperating with anything that sprung from the former Hellfire Legion but nevertheless I'd like to inquire about the exact form such cooperation might take form. As such there are a couple of points that require clearing up.

- Distance, this one is very self-explanatory. Distance limits the scope of support, you and yours are able to render and as such what would you be able to offer the movement in that regard?

- Ideological, I don't know how pragmatic my fellows are but I for one am not willing to work with people that will turn their back on the people they represent the moment that they are successful or in danger of failing. The workers are the backbone of every movement, suppression of them is something intolerable.

Those are the two major points that I'd like cleared up before moving further.

--------------------
Mr. Kloecker,

I am surprised to hear about a new organisation trying their hand at the torch that was held high by the Army. We will see how that will work out. I am sure that we'll meet sometime in the future.

Wow, can't say I expected two responses. I'll do my best to answer both, but please let me know if I miss anything.

For Mr. Kloecker: I'm sorry to hear things have only gotten worse in my absence. Never in my life has Rheinland had it easy; all I can do is pray for the success of your fight against the Military and awful government.

Our goals as an organization are pretty simple: Deal with the traitor Victoria Knight, and more importantly rescue our people from the camps Liberty put them in on Erie. When they fled, first Insurgency takeover and then the Ohio Battlegroup's invasion of Vespucci, they fled to Erie. When Liberty took over, they were labeled "insurgents." These are civilians, not military personnel - civilians that include my own mother. That's much more important than any kind of revenge. Not sure what comes after yet. That all depends on how things go. Lots of people want to see a new Commonwealth, but we'll see.

In the meantime, we can do a lot for each other. I'm building out our logistics network, and that's probably a good start, is with trade collaboration. I've heard of a new kind of diamond called Hessian Tears. We could help take that to market and help supply your bases. Maybe help set something up in Sigma-15 one day? Dunno if you have any interest in that system or not. We're desperately in need of shipbuilding and maintenance supplies, too, so I think this could be a really good way to start a partnership. Longer-term... we can't trade through it, but Vespucci still has a backdoor to the Omegas. I can see something happening there. Let me know.

Ms. Schira: I think I answered the distance part pretty well up there. Ideology, well, we're still libertarian socialists. We want a place where people are free, where neither corporations or governments dominate the halls of power, where the influence of the powerful over the people is limited and managed through representative democracy, and where no one has to worry about where they're going to sleep or what they're going to eat or if they can afford medical care.

We are not the Insurgency. I mean, I grew up on Pittsburgh. My mom was a miner, and my first job as an adult was flying a Rhino moving freight. The military oppressing and exploiting the workers can never be allowed to happen again. The workers are the people, and the people should be more powerful than their government. On the other hand, we saw with our experiences with the Xenos and from watching the Coalition how people can use romantic talk about 'the worker' to justify mistreating people who aren't able to work - for instance, my mom's in her 60s, she doesn't need to be down in a mine anymore - or as a tool for another dictator. That's why we focus on the people as a whole, including the workers. That's not a criticism of you using that term, we just live in a different context.

Hope to hear back soon,

Yoko Mori (she/they)

Commonwealth, hmm. It's been a very, very long time.

Ah, verdammt. where are my manners. My name is Henryk Schmidt, I'm in charge of a small group of Hessian contractors. We usually mostly operate in the fringes of the Omegas, dealing with our rowdy and unflattering neighbors from Crete. Whether it is them, or some money laundering Kruger operations, we get our hands dirty. If you're familiar with us, I'm sure you get the idea.

Now, then. I cannot say I will be speaking for the rest of my Hessen friends. They will all have different thoughts, and are certainly speaking ideals, but I will share my own bit of skepticism on this channel.

Help me understand you, Legionnaire. It has been twelve years. Our home changed a lot. And Frau Schira has raised a very good question - one you've more or less answered. But I will ask again: what have we to gain from cooperating with you?

Surely you understand that helping a cause is no mean feat. An armed cause, armed with warships capable of combat. This means that we will have to aid your efforts, replenish your supplies, tend to your ships. And what you offer in turn is more supplies that you will have to push entirely through a single chokepoint somewhere in the Walker...? I cannot say I am familiar at all with this new development, but I for one think this is a little unsatisfactory, and perhaps impractical. You cannot hope to transfer wide shipments through the Walker without issues, you could become easy pickings. Or perhaps even draw the attention of the Military, they're always watching the Omega-7 system.

While your... lofty goals of defeating the evil government is... certainly acceptable, it seems you, respectfully, ought to brush up on your logistics plans a little.

Here's an idea. What can you offer against our feud with the Corsairs? If your people have the ability to really give them something to think about while sharing our exports, we would gladly repair your instruments of war. Ithaca is a good place to start as any. Just don't tell them I sent you.

Until next time.

It's a bit more than a single chokepoint. Kusari is happy to accept our business, especially with rising tensions with Liberty, as are the Gas Miners' Guild and Gallia. We've got experience punching through Outcast blockades between the Omicrons and the Sigmas, and we're hoping for at least some kind of begrudging acceptance from Bretonia to open up the path to the Omegas. Weirdly the only place we can't safely get into Rheinland is through Bering and Hudson - for now.

Unfortunately our combat corps kind of have their hands full right now. Basically every armed group in Liberty wants us dead, from Rogues to Xenos to the government, and we have obligations to the Technocracy for hosting our fleets that'd make direct conflict with the Corsairs awkward at best and downright suicidal at worst. Don't get me wrong, we're open to further talks down the road if things go well, but right now we're looking at opening a mainly economic relationship.

Guten Tag,

Hessian Tears are on the table. We have noticed that transports carrying Hessian Tears are routinely arriving at Invergordon to deliver the goods. You feel free to increase the delivery sizes and frequency as you see fit. In exchange, however, we would appreciate - shall your combat corps have their hands freed - if TFP could provide assistance to our transports through the independent systems on the way to Invergordon. Our combat troops rarely fight that far from home - our fight is, ultimately, here. In return, this means that we can also offer you assistance in our home systems.
We conduct regular surveillence of Omega-55 as we have a special interest in the area, and we found an unstable connection to Vespucci. If you find yourself in potential trouble, we may be able to dispatch some reinforcements, however they will be limited in size and numbers.

And since you mentioned an economic relationship... you see, we have a project spinning up. No, I cannot say more, other than you shall see its influence soon enough. Sooner than you imagine, in fact, in particular if your corps manage to deliver any ship building components of your liking to Vogtland Base. The timing of this project is accelerated, so unfortunately we will have to cut the deal short if more than two weeks pass. Partial deliveries will be accepted and paid for.

As a token of our good will, and an investment into our future relationship which we hope we won't come to regret, we shall pay a premium on every unit you bring in.

Stuff's improved since last time we talked, so I can say done on all three fronts. The Baffin Corridor is getting busier, and that means more dangerous, and we now have the resources to escort you there as needed. So definitely on that - just let us know. We'd also be up to convoy, if you want—we're working on developing skilled frigate personnel, and more practice for them is always good. And yeah, vice-versa is definitely appreciated.

One thing we're missing too is a good source of diamonds. I mean, Kruger sells them openly, but... ew, no. Do you have a refinery in or near Omega-11 we can stock up at, or an alliance with someone who does? We'd rather support you if you have one, but if you've got a deal with IMG or someone who has a station, that'd at least open the market up. That's pretty important—our transports are in the Omegas a lot on refueling trips for Technocracy assets in the area.

We have allies with a new trading post in the Taus we can make sure you get the coordinates for. It's probably not as useful for direct delivery since you're on the opposite side of the sector, but it's still a valuable regional depot.

Finally, Vespucci. That's not really my area of expertise, so I'm forwarding you to the Lord Stratarch, our head of military strategy. He's now included in this channel, and will send you a message either here or via another channel soon.

Now, about this ship building project! Give me specifics on what you need and I'll send out the fleets. Do you just need whole components like hull panels, ablative armor, and engine components, or do you also need raw materials like gold and iridium?

Guten Tag Adjutant,

I apologize for the delay, but Kamerad Kloecker has been MIA for some tme now, sadly we hold little hope for him being alive at this point. I will be taking his stead on this affair.

I have seen your shipments arriving at Vogtland and was left quite perplexed by the ease of which you have reached us, especially with your tight affiliation to the technocrats who were recently barred from entering Rheinland. Perhaps I haven't gave you enough credit at first. As our former comrade mentioned, these supplies will prove of great value in our latest endeavors and for this you have the Front's gratitude and commitment for military aid when possible.

Future communications from your Lord Stratarch will be put on high priority. May our cooperation endure, aus.
