The vessel, hull number 83-112, was received in pristine technical condition, with crew discipline and morale rated as satisfactory. The ship was taken over at 0700, and operational tests continued until 1300. Nansei Research Complex was departed at 1400.

Patrol Summary:
The patrol was completed without significant incidents. No crew members were injured, and 83-112 sustained no damage. The patrol ended at 1930 at Nago Station, Saga system (Tau-29).

Events:
1451: Visually identified contact |AA|-Artemis-Command in the restricted Tohoku system. Civilians, Bustard-class vessel. The contact was severely damaged and removed from the restricted space by 1505.

1619: Visually identified contact F.Staniol in the New Tokyo system. Corsairs, Raba-class vessel. The contact was relieved of cargo consisting of 3,150 units of Bio-Neural Processors, which were transferred to Kishiro Technologies at 1633 - contact: MZ=Ryuujin-Maru.

1740: Visually identified contact HS>La.Volpe in the Shikoku system. Outcasts, Aspis-class vessel. The ship was loaded with 4,300 units of Platinum en route from Liberty. The cargo held no economic value for Kusari; instead, the contact was ordered to pay 100,000 credits and leave Kusari. The contact complied with the orders.

1758: Visually identified contact TFP)-HFL-Afterglow in the Tau-23 system. The Technocracy, DX-class transport. The vessel was fully loaded with MOX, heading to Freeport 11 in Omicron Delta. The ship was under the command of a contractor named Anawalto Wanaeil, likely a false identity. This group or unit will require further investigation. The vessel was released.

That is all.

Preliminary Patrol Summary:
Departed from Nago Station in the Saga (Tau-29) system at 0630. The patrol was largely uneventful, though my vessel sustained minor damage during one encounter, necessitating repairs with nanobots and subsequent replenishment. Repair costs were duly invoiced as per internal regulations.

Events:
0737: Re-established visual contact with the smuggler HS>La.Volpe in Shikoku near the anomaly to the Kepler system. The vessel was carrying 4,300 units of illegal pharmaceuticals from Liberty. The contact refused orders to stop, leading to a pursuit through the Shikoku and New Tokyo systems, culminating in Kyushu. The smuggler was apprehended by disabling their shields. A total of 250,000 credits was extracted from the smuggler for the prolonged chase. The cargo held no value for Kusari.

0925: Routine patrol through the Tau region, covering the Baffin, Coronado, and Cortez systems, brought us into contact with TFP)-Wind.Rose. Initially, the contact was uncooperative, but the subsequent arrival of TFP)-Watatsumi, TFP)-Kelly.With!, A/)-Yoruha|, TFP)-Atropos-2, TFP)-Blackjack, A/)-Revenant, A/)-Pentimento.III, and A/)-ACV-Python clarified the situation. The atmosphere was tense and distrustful at first, but A/)-Revenant and TFP)-Kelly.With! proved to be sufficiently constructive. A basic understanding was reached, with conclusions forwarded to higher command.

1140: Visual contact with Sendai.Maru, a Grendel-class frigate of the Farmer's Alliance, near the planet New Tokyo. Initially suspected it might attack the other present contact, Ionic|Aqua, but Sendai.Maru challenged us instead. A brief skirmish around the remnants of Roppongi Station moved to the Kanto Field. There, the contact was damaged to the point of surrender, with the captain and crew agreeing to be boarded and handed over to authorities. I suspect their position will soon be filled by someone else.

That is all for now.

Subject: Patrols 834-05-28, 834-05-29, 834-05-30;

Patrol Summary:
The past few days have been relatively uneventful, so I did not feel the need to write daily reports. The vessels under my command have not sustained any damage, and neither crew required disciplinary action. The most notable events from the last few days are summarized below.

Events:
834/05/28 1700: Held the first serious meeting with contact A/)Aether, a negotiator for the Technocracy of Auxo, in the Baffin system near Pueblo Bonito. The meeting was calm, with no threats from either side. The Technocracy of Auxo demonstrated logistical flexibility regarding the delivery of gold to Kusari, with the possibility of supplying much more exotic materials from the distant Edgeworlds. The meeting concluded without any specific commitments.

834/05/28 1845: Met with contact [KNF]'Mujina'|66th near planet Honshu. The contact quickly shifted to a somewhat personal interaction, offering his name 'Tatsuya' to address him. This officer also appeared very bored, longing for some interesting military action. Our meeting was cut short by an emergency call from contact Kishiro|Mamiya-Maru, reporting hostile activity by contact Mizushino in the Galileo system, confirmed as a gunboat belonging to the Blood Dragons. Kishiro|Mamiya-Maru escaped without damage or crew casualties, but Mizushino fled before we arrived. Our patrol ended afterward.

834/05/29 1600: During a routine patrol in the Kyushu system, contacts [TSK]BD-Uchinaruhi (Blood Dragons, Togo-class battlecruiser) and Ryoko,Miyasu (Blood Dragons, bomber) were identified. Contact Sagi.Bourusu (Kusari State Police, Wyrm-class fighter) was also present. Both enemy contacts were hiding in the Seira Dust Cloud. Kusari Naval Forces were informed of the Blood Dragons' presence, and [KNF]IKN-Numazu (Komainu-class battlecruiser) was en route. At 1645, the Blood Dragons headed towards planet Kyushu, joined by another contact, TiJin-Thundercloud (Blood Dragons, Togo-class battlecruiser). Once [KNF]IKN-Zanza|66th and [KNF]IKN-Haruna were mobilized, the Blood Dragons retreated back into the Seira Dust Cloud. A brief skirmish occurred between the Kusari Naval Forces and the Blood Dragons, but the chaotic situation caused by the cloud led to a cessation of hostilities, and all KNF vessels safely withdrew.

834/05/30 1700-1730: In the Tau-23 system, two smugglers were audiovisually identified: first contact Ferreira.Shipments (Outcasts, Aspis-class vessel) and shortly thereafter contact MeisterHaku (Liberty Rogues, Pitbull-class vessel). Both contacts were transporting Cardamine. Upon discovering their true destination -- Liberty -- both smugglers were ordered to pay a fine and leave Kusari protectorates. Both vessels were escorted out of the area of interest.

That is all.

Entry 834/06/03:
With the new internal directive, K-83406-10012-A, my identity has been changed to "Ayakashi" and my service vessel has been renamed to Reisen.

In conjunction with this, my stay at Nansei has ended. I have been reassigned from this research station to the planet New Tokyo. Along with this, I have also acquired a small service apartment in Shiomachi. A welcome change from living on a space station -- from more interesting food to stronger gravity, requiring less regular exercise to maintain my form.

It has been a while since I have walked the streets of the seaside metropolis.

Entry 834/06/06:

As soon as I settled into my new service apartment in Shiomachi on New Tokyo, I received a new task to infiltrate Bretonia and find out what happened in the fateful year 831 AS in Dublin and its consequences for Bretonia.

For these purposes, I acquired a new identity -- Claire Brooks, an independent investigative journalist originally from Denver, Liberty. Father Kishimoto Taro, a pilot for Kishiro Technologies, mother Anna Brooks, an administrative worker at the spaceport. Claire Brooks is an illegitimate child.

I must say, I am not looking forward to going to Bretonia. I just found my favorite restaurant here that delivers.

Entry 834/06/22:

My stay in Bretonia has not been among the most pleasant. I honestly miss New Tokyo already. There are about a thousand reasons why I dislike it here -- from the unbreathable, acidic air on the planet New London to the pervasive, to all-encompassing depression that weighs on me from all sides.

But if I had to choose what bothers me the most, it would probably be the general lack of personal hygiene, comparable to the barbaric Borderworlds. From the smell of their breath, it seems they brush their teeth maybe once a day, and they proudly carry dirt under their unkempt nails. They do not always wash their hands before eating -- and I won't even comment on the state of their public or semi-public bathrooms. And there I thought the habit of wearing outdoor shoes at home, as they do in Liberty, was sufficiently disgusting.

I don't even know why I'm writing this in my journal, perhaps as a way to formulate and vent my frustration.
