>: Navarch Leviathan - Colonel Sarah Pierce - 09-24-2024 [Comm-ID] : Sarah Pierce ~ Colonel - The Order [Receiver-ID] : Leviathan ~ Navarch - Technocracy of Auxo [Subject] : Scanning Data Navarch, First and foremost, I wish to thank you for allowing Captain Tilson's transit of Inverness. I understand there is much bad blood between Auxo and the Order, but I'm pleased we didn't add any more to it.
I understand that for this passage Captain Tilson promised we would provide what information we've gathered to your people, as well as information in the future, on the Sudbury Anomaly. I'll attach my report[1] to Legacy command detailing our initial analysis of the site. I've had Captain Tilson attempting to break the shielding of the site through repeated scans, but have had no success. I'm hoping to find some way to bypass, or even disable, this shielding to allow for investigation of the structure within. I'm also told by the Captain that Auxo is preparing for the joint Liberty/Crayterian operation they've apparently been planning for some time now. I've notified the Freeport administration of our presence within the region, and our intention to remain out of any fighting so far as Nomads are not involved. I know the Overwatch are aware of the situation, as well, and likely have an interest beyond the potential local Nomad population. I'm hoping there will present itself the possibility of coordination against any threat to the local civilian populace, or at the least prevention of stepping on any toes. Nonetheless, you have my thanks. Thank you, Navarch. RE: >: Navarch Leviathan - Colonel Sarah Pierce - 10-18-2024 [Comm-ID] : Sarah Pierce ~ Colonel - The Order [Receiver-ID] : Leviathan ~ Navarch - Technocracy of Auxo [Subject] : Routine: Sudbury Navarch, I hope all has been well. I understand that Crayter's joint operation in Inverness came to pass some time ago, but I've yet to hear much beyond some post-op after action reports and the Overwatch diverting to other theatres. Given this silence, I can only assume it wasn't to their liking, which makes me all the more grateful my people weren't involved.
To the primary point of this contact, I'm providing access to my recent report[1] to Legacy command concerning the Sudbury Anomaly. With these latest developments, I've instructed Captain Tilson to refrain from engaging in attempts to breach the structure's shielding. Instead, I've had him begin scanning the new directed anomaly over the site, which has been concerning since Tilson returned with his initial readings. So far, our running theory is that this site on Sudbury is generating some kind of passage, but to where and for what purpose we do not know. I'm hoping these initial analyses will assist your people with their own attempts. As a secondary point, one of my field operatives has been assigned with investigating a Nomad population that appears distinct from those commonly found in the Omicron systems. Initial contact was jarring, given our until then current understanding on Nomad sociology, or suspected lack thereof. Following her encounter with the entities, and processing of this information among both myself and Legacy command, I'm interested in knowing if the Technocracy has any information regarding these entities or their 'Song of the Abyss' that you may be able to provide. As of current, we have only documented the one encounter, the report of which I'm happy to provide for clarity if needed. While I am not of a mind to trust a Nomad at its.. 'word', the potential of 'non-hostile Nomads' is something I feel is at least worth investigation. At the least, it furthers biological understanding of Sirius and gives us insight into their potential danger to civilian operations in the region. I hope to hear from you, Navarch. DISPLAYING MESSAGE Pierce, is it? ... Huh, that gives me a weird sense of deja vu. I do apologize for my lack of initial contact. I'm sure someone in your position can understand how swiftly this line of work can drag one to all corners of the Sector. I also wish to thank you and your associates for staying true to your word, and keeping out of the operation that took place against the local Militants, and further aggravated the native Sirian residents. Were I to hazard a guess based upon the data you've provided, you've encountered what's known as the 'Lostshare'. A hive that seems to operate with an unusual sociological standing towards both their own kind and mankind as a whole. Though do not be fooled by their 'songs'. They're naught but a siren's call to lure in the unsuspecting. I would not trust their kind to have good motivations behind a passive encounter - rather it is likely a defensive mechanism. They have, however, displayed docile tendencies and seem to lack the usual defensive means the Omicron share possess. This change in behavior is likely due to an adaptation their collective deemed necessary in order to extend their survival. They often ignore most people who don't wind up in the heart of their nest, as it were. Granted, my expertise when it comes to the Nomads is more blunt than my associates. What limited study data we have been able to obtain was not my doing, and if I'm being honest there is very little reason for me to entrust you with such valuable information. Even if you've proven your goodwill thus far, there are certain problems when it comes to security clearances. Understanding your enemy thoroughly has always been crucial to truly being able to destroy them, after all. While I don't condone The Order's methods, I have always held sympathy for outlier cells trapped in a war they didn't ask for. I cannot provide you the information you seek, as it is not my department to do so. You would need to seek out Gestalt, or Revenant. I at least hope my perspective summary provides insight into what you might be looking to uncover. MESSAGE ENDED ...transmission complete

I'll be frank, Navarch, in that I didn't expect the Technocracy to provide any hard data for the exact reasoning you've mentioned. That being said, what you've provided is already more than enough to help our approach regarding this 'Lostshare' going forward, and it reinforces spirits around here knowing even you are skeptical of their nature.
I have hope, but we must still remind ourselves of what they are. In any event, I will make a note of potential contact regarding further information about this 'Lostshare'. We've already had some record of contact with Revenant, so perhaps that will need to be taken into consideration. Otherwise, should we note any further developments regarding Sudbury, I'll make a note to contact once again. Thank you, Navarch. |
