FLAGSHIP MEMORIA AND BATTLESHIP OLYMPUS - With the official Pontifex Maximus, Elder Buonocore, still in exile, the Council of Elders has appointed the renowned mystic Señor Eumolpus Alvarez as Acting Pontifex Maximus for the duration of Día de los Muertos. Earlier today, Alvarez delivered a stirring address within the sacred halls of the temple aboard the Brotherhood battleship Olympus.

This historic occasion was further marked by the presence of the Brotherhood Flagship Memoria, which flew in formation alongside the Olympus to signify unity and reverence. INTERVIEW WITH THE CHAMPION OF CRETE - As the grand celebration of La Arena Sagrada de los Muertos concluded, Canal Uno had the privilege of interviewing Jose Fuentes, the newly crowned Champion of Crete. His triumph in the legendary tournament has brought him immense respect and honor across the Corsair Empire. When asked how it felt to secure his place in Corsair history, Fuentes humbly replied: "I dedicate the win to all the brave warriors out there who risk their lives daily, bringing glory to the Corsairs." Reflecting on his approach in the deadly M9-Gladiator battles, he shared the strategy that led him to victory: "The approach to being the last man standing was using everything at my disposal - environment, mind games, skill - to survive. Environment to pull out of the center of attention and avoid being a target, mind games to make the other combatants underestimate me, and skill to apply everything when the pressure was at its highest."

Fuentes recounted pivotal moments in the competition, acknowledging the sacrifices of his opponents: "There were several moments where I thought I was done for. The most honorable and noble fighter on the opposing side was the gladiator under the callsign "Tizona". He was constantly on my tail until my allies came in to rescue me. The most exciting part was the very end of the clash, when there were four of us in two separate duels. Both the duel against Del.Cid and Racsx were fantastic, they were honorable opponents who fought valiantly until the very end."

On what this victory means to his family and the Corsair people, Fuentes emphasized his humble roots:
"The Fuentes familia is a humble family, barely visiting space. They will for sure be ecstatic, yet they will continue living their ordinary lives of being farmers on Crete, providing food to the Imperio. My brother and me will celebrate, as the only two members of the Fuentes familia who are active pilots. If there is one message to the Corsair people - it's to stay humble to your origins and believe in yourself, and never give up!"

Regarding his new status as a Centurion within the Corsair Brotherhood, he expressed gratitude: "I have utmost respect for the Brotherhood and the Elders, keeping our empire stable. It is my honor to be a Centurion, and I will do my best to uphold the Corsair values." Fuentes also spoke on the cultural significance of the tournament: "Tradition is of significant cultural and spiritual significance, and La Arena Sagrada de los Muertos is no different. It is important we, Corsairs, keep to our traditions and cultural values such as this one."

When asked about his plans for the future and the prize money, Fuentes laughed:
"I actually haven't thought about what to do with the money yet. I couldn't ever dream of owning such a large amount! First, we need to celebrate and think it over, then we will see. I have a wild night with my girlfriend Maria ahead of me!"
