Lana was born into the family of a father, a junior researcher at Samura, and a mother, an “adventurer”. Her father was a native of Planet Kyushu. He worked for a long time at one of Samura's gas miner where he began studying alien organisms. In 799 AS, he was transferred to Planet Junyo to study the effects of organisms on fish and the people who ate these fish.
