Account Problems With Cryer - Doc Holliday - 01-03-2025
It had been some time since Med Force Enterprises began a working arrangement with Cryer pharmaceuticals. Med Force was able to produce some of what it needed but not all so regular trips to the Syracuse Station were a norm. Even with the tension with the Liberty government, no one said anything. Along with the purchase of medicine, Med Force researchers and pharmacists were able to work with Cryer personnel to create new procedures and medicines, something that John Holliday wanted to continue. For now, all things seemed normal until Doc himself arrived at Syracuse to pick up another shipment.
"Dr. Holliday, your account," said the load master scratching his head, "it is voiding your usual discount."
Doc took his pad and looked at it as he scratched his chin. "Yes, that is weird."
"Do you wish me to keep loading your ship?" asked the loadmaster.
"Yes," answered Doc, "we need these. Um, I will go figure this out myself."
"No problem, Doc. No one is scheduled to dock here for awhile so take your time."
With a pat on the man's back, Doc headed off to figure out the problem.

It has been a long day for Amelia,but she has finally returned on Syracuse. After a day of running around, she was relieved when the ship's engines turned off.
As she was coming off her ship,all that was going through her head was how nice would be a drink and to read some research, to somewhat relax. So she closed the ship's bay, and started heading towards her quarters.
While exiting the hangar, suddendly, a friendly face comes out of nowhere; it was the commodities manager of Syracuse.
"Miss O'Quinn!"He shouted with half of breath."They told me you just arrived on base so I rushed here in the hopes of finding you."
"Ok.Ok. Take it easy.What's going on.Said Amelia to him, as she was intrigued to why he just ran across the station to meet her.
"We have an..."He briefly paused before continuing, to think on how to explain the situation."Let's call it a situation. I think it is better if you came with me to show you
She took a second, almost as if she were annoyed."Can't this wait until tomorrow?"She was still hoping to get some time, but that hope slowly fade away.
"No it cannot."Said the manager firmly."It is something that has to be resolved now."
She rolled her eyes."Fine lead the way."
So they started heading towards his office.
On the way there, he explained to her about this buyer " Dr. Holliday", and how there were some issues with the princing of the cargo he was aquiring.
They reached the door, and the manager stops a few moments before entering. He took a deep breath and then opened the door, while Amelia was behind him and almost being amused by the man's reaction to the situation.
Without waiting for any introductions made by the manager,she confidently went straight to meet this buyer.
"Greetings. My name is Amelia O'Quinn, C.E.O. of Cryter Pharmaceuticals. My colleague here says there are some issues with the transaction of some commodities. Can I ask what is the issue?"

Things had indeed changed. The people he once had dealt with were.....no longer there. He was quite surprised at the presence of this young lady in front of him.
"I take it that Mr. Bucksworth and Dr. Felcher are no longer with the organization?" he inquired. "A couple of years back, we worked out an agreement with Cryer." He shrugged, "I guess we can start fresh." He then introduced himself with the removal of his hat. "Dr. John Henry Holliday, founder of Med Force Enterprises. If I could have a little of your time, we could figure this out. May I buy you a drink, Miss?"
He then sent her a couple of files. "Perhaps these will help.

"Dr.Holliday, I’m sorry we have to go through this, but unfortunately our organisation, in the last years, has suffered many leadership changes, which brought us to a situation where information is lost."As she started to read the files given by Holliday."However I’d be delighted to get that drink."And Amelia called somebody. It was the bar keeper.
"Very well. A table is awaiting for us."She smiled at him and then indicated him which way to go."After you.”
And they both started walking towards the bar, while Amelia was finishing her reading.

He accepted the invite. Engaged he might be but he always treated a lady proper like. "Bar keep, the tab is on me," he told him as he and Amelia headed toward the table.
It was a lot of reading and he knew it so he just gave her space enough to finish. A Scotch on the rocks was placed before him and whatever her drink of choice was. He kept his mind on business by leaving his com pad and playing cards in his pocket.

It was a long read, but she finally finished it. She also realised she drank two gin tonics like they were glasses of water."I'm sorry I became so quiet. Curiosity got over me to see some logs with some insights into what was happening at a time before I was here."She then signaled the bar keep to bring her another.After that, she placed down the pad, and looked at John.
"Could notice that after the fall of Atka, eveything seemed to stop.As most of Cryer happened to come into disarray."Amelia stopped for a brief second, as the drink was brought to their table.She looked at him with a smile and thanked. After that she took a sip, and looked back at John."I want to be honest with you. At the moment we're trying to rebuild ourselves. While we maintain some status of sorts, we're still in a phase I could describe as, beginning. ”
Amelia took another sip before continuing.
"Therefore, for the moment being,I think we should talk about the present, and I'd be interested to know more about you and your organisation."

In on thought, it figured. All that work with Buckworth and Felcher for nothing but then, he was used to it. How many times did Bretonia nix an agreement when an original signer passed. To him it wasn't right but she had only what he provided and he was a total stranger to her. He was, after all, an older southern gentleman who valued honor and integrity.
"The present it shall be, Miss," he began. "I created Med Force Enterprises long ago. It was born of an idea I had when I was travelling. I thought, well, not everyone has access to medical care and in a lot of places will refuse to treat people so I thought, why not bring hope where there is little or none. You know, the Omegas, the Taus, the Omicrons. I started with one ship and now we have three bases and a small fleet of medical ships. My people even trained the 46th in combat medicine."
He sipped his drink. "
"We now research a lot of new medicines and try developing some of our own as well as treatments and I have a strong team of people that make it all possible. What we cannot produce we have purchased from Cryer and a lot of research work we do we found that Cryer could make better and Cryer could learn from us so if you read through everything, I offered Cryer staff to be allowed to be on our stations in Omicron Theta and Omega 3, the first of which is where a bulk of our research and medical training is done."
"Miss O'Quinn, I will make that same offer to you. I am so sorry about what happened at Atka. Having a presence on Med Force Academy in Omicron Theta gives you back a toe hold in the region. Atka was a supplier of Stabline for us, something I was quietly working with to try and come up with a counter to Cardamine. Now, I have to come here for it if I need some."
"I think you would like my people," he continued. "Dr. Jill Xi heads the Academy and Dr. Isabella Saito heads mental health. I even Dr. von Goeben heading up a lot of research projects as well. Perhaps at some point you might like to visit? I can have a ship that can take you out in safety if you wish."
