Phoenix Leadership,

This message conveys initial observations from the Gryphon's deployment to Omicron Theta.

Freelancer Activity: We have observed an unusual influx of independent traders entering the system from the direction of the Kappa Jump Hole. These freelancers appear to be making a beeline for the unstable Thuringia jump hole, suggesting renewed Rhineland involvement in the artifacts trade, potentially mirroring the events leading to the Nomad War. Crucially, these artifacts do not appear to originate from Pygar. Our investigations indicate the source lies deeper within Omicron space.

Corsair Activity: DTR-flagged vessels have been observed utilizing Corfu Station as a layover point. Given the events surrounding the fall of Freeport 9, this activity raises serious concerns about a potential Corsair incursion into Pygar. We strongly recommend that the Corfu administration submit lockout requests against DTR, prohibiting their use of Zoner facilities within Theta.

DTR Capabilities: Recent encounters with DTR forces suggest a significant degradation in their combat effectiveness. A recent encounter with a DTR-flagged "Triana" involved surprisingly juvenile and unprofessional communication, including phrases such as "You reek of piss" and "Take your worthless brick of a ship, take your surface outpost on Pygar and piss off!" This level of discourse suggests a significant reduction or degradation in DTR leadership capabilities, potentially resulting from the heavy losses suffered during the assault on Freeport 9.

Mr. Goodman,

Thank you for providing reports on traffic activity with artifacts. Regardless of their origin, all information is as valuable and will be used for the benefit of the colony. And while Mr. Anderson has spoken of your unflattering views of The Order, all such reports will be used as a valid reason for Order to engage on Corsairs vessels, which will certainly loosen their grip and fervor on us.

As for your incident with the pilot from Deterrence... I would say that their pilots are extremely uneducated. Their pilot school is done through brutal selection in practice, survival of the fittest. Cognitive ability has nothing to do with it, so don’t expect a conversation about the weather. At the same time, I am quite amazed at their unconcealed hostility towards you. The Phoenix, after losing Freeport 9, has never hidden its, uh... “Sympathies” for the Corsairs. They are already so stupefied with power that they don't hide their true attitude towards Zoners.

Voncloud has done a Herculean job of lobbying for Corsair's interests on the planet, there's still a lot of work to be done. It is certainly a failure on our shoulders to allow such a person into such a position. Nevertheless, Mr. Anderson is doing everything in his power to curb their threats and presence on the planet and Corfu.

Mr. Burton,

Thank you for your response. The Consortium will continue to provide timely and accurate intelligence regarding activity within Omicron Theta, regardless of its origin.

Regarding the Order's potential involvement in engagements with Corsair vessels, the Consortium maintains its reservations. While we understand the desire to counter the Corsair threat, we believe that any actions taken should prioritize the safety of Zoner lives and avoid escalating the conflict unnecessarily.

Furthermore, I believe that any assessment of Mr. Voncloud's performance is best left within the internal affairs of the Phoenix administration. Regardless of any personal opinions, Mr. Voncloud served as Administrator of Pygar, and it is important to acknowledge that he, like any leader, acted in what he believed to be the best interests of the colony.

The Consortium remains committed to the defense of Zoner interests in Omicron Theta. However, we strongly caution against any direct alliance with the Order. In our view, both the Order and the Corsairs are willing to sacrifice Zoner lives to further their own agendas. We believe that a truly independent and self-sufficient Zoner defense is the only path to long-term security and prosperity in this sector.
