I believe supporting the Penitence is of extreme importance, I must ask in which direction are we planning on retreating the ship? If we can retreat it to Omega-48 and repair the ship on Casablanca, the Penitence can help reinforce the precarious position the Athos now lies in. I must also ask of Omega-5, are we not close to breaking through Ronneburgs pathetic garrison? What will come of that with our retreat?

As for the courses of action that you have laid out, I would say we use our forces at Petra, and move them to support the Penitence. Petra faces no trial at this time, and is less important for maintaining our supply lines or operations in the Sigmas then Lagos is. If Petra then comes under attack, we can hope we will be in a much better position to defend it.

So this is my complete suggestion as Crete's servant;
We send Petra's forces to help cover Penitence's retreat from the clutches of the Hessians
We move Penitence to Casablanca for repairs, it can temporarily support our operations there
When the ship is fully capable we use it and the Battlecruiser Krk to strike at the Battleship Zuschen

Alternatively we can allow the Zuschen to persist for a time longer and use our forces to strike Dublin and Omicron Kappa, though this risks resetting our gains in Omega-5.

Amigos, whatever the outcome; to sacrifices ones self for Crete is the greatest honor one can have, our names will be remembered by those who shall live in the glorious empire we build! Ask anyone who was there for the last days of Gran Canaria: they will remember Battlegroup Magreb. I led them. I bled with them. And I delivered them home. Not in coffins, but with pockets filled to the brim with Bretonian gold.

I will assist the Penitence’s escape. My yacht will slip through the Hessian net, and and once aboard the Penitence, I will stand beside her Capitan in the tactical room, overseeing fleet movements and putting my years of experience to work, so he can focus on commanding the ship. I may even bring a few Brotherhood pilots who remain loyal to me.

As for the choice? Let the people decide. I am both their shepherd and their humble servant. But make no mistake, Rivera. When this is over, you will owe me. And when I return, I will reclaim my seat at the Council. Por las buenas… o por las malas.

Let me thank you for reaching out to us for hearing our opinions on this highly delicate situation. The Deterrence has discussed the matter internally and concluded that the Penitence absolutely needs to be supported by additional forces to ensure its safe retreat from Rheinland territory. Risking its destruction through inactivity should not even be considered an option!

Now to the more difficult part: Should we reinforce it from Lagos Depot or Petra? Both bases enjoy protection due to their respective strategic locations in sensor-dampening areas either close to explosive gas clouds keeping our enemies away in the case of Lagos, or through its isolated and well-militarized location in the Nordsee Cloud in the case of Petra.

We have ruled that keeping the artifacts trade corridor through the Sigmas into Kusari space is of utmost importance and therefore we should not retract any forces from Lagos Depot that ensures the safety of our smugglers in that area. Petra base on the other hand is already located closer to the Penitence, more heavily guarded and can spare some squadrons to assist the retreat of our battlecruiser without compromising its own safeguard.

Therefore, we deem the reinforcement of the Penitence by forces from Petra base as the least hurting option. We need to assure its safe return to Tripoli for quick repairs as it appears that we will need all our forces available given the dynamic situation in the Omicrons, which we should always prioritize to keep under our control.

Of course you can count on The Deterrence to support the Penitence’s retreat whichever option the Council of Elders finally chooses to pursue.

I'll keep it short: Petra is the closest and the least tactically significant. Get her birds up in the air, I'll do my best to catch up.

Senor Fabricius: I suggest perusing any of our star maps, preferably those that were published after 760 AS. Mayhap you would notice that any forces sent from Cadiz in that direction would need to either take a massive detour, meaning that by the time they get there, Penitence would likely succumb to the ravenous Hessian scum. Alternatively, they could attempt to breach Hammen Hole and fly right past Ronneburg straight into Omega-11. If our fleets were capable of such feats, Penitence wouldn't need to be deployed to Dresden to begin with, and Hessians would be a bygone memory for a few decades now. Suffice to say that is not the case.
