Okay does anyone know how to copy hard points from one CMP to another, so that they are on the same places, but without having to edit each of them manually?

One potential option is to import the .CMP, the latest importer as you'll probably notice marks the hardpoints with a small mesh.
From there you could just copy those over to the new mesh, without losing location data.
