FOR OFFICIAL USE
SYNOPSYS (ooRP) The summer days of the Sirius sector were brightened by a colorful event in Ontario.
The planet Sudbury was once one of several simple space bodies in the Ontario system. Its lifeless surface and lack of minerals made it just another object in the archives of the Ministry of Cartography of the Republic of Liberty. Usually no one came here, except for lone pilots who wanted to see Ontario from a different angle, Hacker scouts looking for a place to strike another blow to Liberty's infrastructure, or drunken Rogues who just happened to be here. The planet's satellite, Blezard, was the main attraction. But it too, after a short time, was abandoned from further attempts to exploit the rich resource deposits. Everything changed in the summer of 834 A.S., when an unknown structure appeared on the surface of Sudbury, which generated a powerful pulse signal that attracted the attention of everyone in the system. First one, then another... Ships from every faction flocked there to determine the truth of the anomaly's origin. The unknown structure, hidden under the energy dome, opened the “holiday season” of the planet, which everyone wanted to be a guest of. From simple Freelancers, who thought they knew the truth, to Nomads, who suddenly discovered another gift from their creators. The presence of all sorts of factions began to increase, and at some point the orbit of the unnecessary planet was unrecognizable: debris, flashes of gunfire and an endless stream of words in the radio air literally filled all the space around it. But that was just the beginning. Suddenly, a beam from the planet's surface shot up into the void of space, heading off into the unknown, making everyone ask more questions. And now this planet has become of great strategic importance for all those who want to get their hands on alien knowledge, or to preserve it. Koji Yasu, after finishing the Brigade expedition, transferred to the research corps of the planet Akabat. He decided to leave his past behind, and dedicate himself to exploring this mysterious planet. He asked himself the same question, “Why Ontario? Why now?” Like his colleague, Forsberg, he searched for clues. Spending months on his years of work understanding the nature of Nomads and trying to make connections between all the events of the past five years, he began to discover a pattern. And when Zeta and Omicron Mu cosmos burst into flames, that was the clue. Atum catches Wyoming running into Ontario, LSF send forces to investigate Ontario, the planet Sudbury spews out a mysterious beam, Earhart is no longer a scary tale among deep space explorers, but a real-life system. And after this Lane Hackers transporting unknown device directly into Ontario system. Discovering of a Nomad Gates in Omicron Zeta and the subsequent Nomad attack only add to the puzzle. 34th Brigade greatest mind is back in action, driven by a thirst for knowledge. There's a connection here, and Koji wants to know the truth. And he will find it at any costs! "Are we working together again, gentlemen?" INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION In the summer of 834 A.S., the planet Sudbury revealed an anomaly to all of Sirius in the form of an unknown structure with an energy dome, effectively initiating hostilities in the planet's orbit. Further investigation revealed that the energy dome was impervious to audio/radio signals and weapons, in the traditional sense.
After some time, the planet began to emit a powerful energy beam of unknown nature, sent out into deep space, to an unknown destination. This raised the interest of all factions, including the members of the Atum Battle Group, who had originally moved to Ontario with the goal of destroying the infamous Battlecruiser Wyoming. Included in the list of those interested in what's going on are:
The exact purpose of this planet and its role in aiding the Nomads has not been determined until now. However, the sudden enemy invasion of the Omicron Mu and Omicron Zeta systems, which began the expansion of the Nomads deep within the Omicrons, has revealed new maps. Consequently, former Brigade Senior Scientist (and now acting Senior Scientist) Koji Yasu is determined to return to action and dedicate himself to studying this anomaly personally. Our forces organized a small expedition to the Ontario system to discover the true causes of the anomaly's activation. Based on all of the above factors and the introductory information provided, the forces redeployed to Ontario are given the following orders:
The above instructions shall come into effect upon publication of this log. Unit commanders shall convey the tasks to their subordinates and begin to carry them out. All incidents shall be reported immediately. Also, I remind you that our task is not only to fight aliens but also to study them. Follow the mission objectives and do not take unnecessary risks. 14/03/835 MISSION #1-835 - ONTARIO COMBAT OVERVIEW
FOR OFFICIAL USE INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION Since the early summer of 834 A.S., the Ontario system has been the center of attention for many prominent factions in Liberty space and on its borders. Due to an unknown structure on the planet Sudbury, the Technocracy and Nomad forces became new visitors to the system, and began making constant forays into the planet's orbit. This drew appropriate attention from the Lane Hackers, Liberty Free Republic, and Liberty Security Forces. Thus, LSF Battlecruiser "Lehigh", was moved into the system, preceded by an emergency reconnection between the Ontario-California Gates.
In addition to all of this, a new phase of the Battleship Atum pursuit of the Battlecruiser Wyoming brought both into this system, adding to the participating parties' Infected and Order forces respectively. At this point, each side has the following goals:
The main players in the theater of battle are still the Lane Hackers, Liberty Security Forces and Liberty Free Republic. All other parties are partially involved due to their distance from their logistical centers, which makes it difficult or impossible to move larger forces. The Order presence in the system is more likely justified by its long pursuit of Wyoming. It was only by coincidence that the Order became involved in the Sudbury Anomaly, and as a result now also takes an individual interest in the planet. TACTICAL OVERVIEW The map enlargement is available by clicking on it
For a clearer understanding of the information, all designations have the following legend:
According to the above information: COMBAT TASKS To understand the exact tasks, the current political environment between the Order and the other factions involved in Ontario must be kept in mind.
The following groups and factions should be considered the primary combat targets:
All other parties should be considered friendly or neutral by the Order (depending on who is encountered). The main task of the Brigade's combat units deployed in this system will be to conduct sabotage operations against enemy logistics groups. This includes intercepting enemy formations and logistics convoys. All missions can be seen in the document below: All successful operations are to be reported to a secure comm channel to be provided later. I strongly remind everyone that our mission is not to die a heroic death, but to weaken the enemy presence to maintain the integrity of the perimeter around Sudbury. We have no interest in raiding into the fire to die senselessly and stupidly. Don't put yourselves at risk, pilots. I wish all of you good luck! 15/03/835 MISSION #1-835 - PLANET SUDBURY OVERVIEW
FOR OFFICIAL USE INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION The planet Sudbury is a barren planet located on the edge of the Ontario system and is a completely lifeless world with no deposits of useful resources. Interest in the planet dates back to the year 810 A.S., when the DSE decided to attempt to exploit the mineral resources on the surface of its satellite, Blezard Valley. The attempt was unsuccessful, and any future plans for the planet were completely abandoned. According to official data, the orbit of the planet, as well as its satellite, was no longer of any interest to the Republic of Liberty.
In the 834 A.S., events on the planet's surface changed the situation, restoring interest in it in an emergency: an unknown structure shrouded in an impenetrable force field opened up on the planet, which, after some time, activated a super-powered beam that rushed into deep space. This event created the occasion for the ongoing hostilities, during which each of the known factions tries to gain an advantage over the planet and use its secrets in their favor. ![]() Photo made by Section 8 - "Priority Report: Planet Sudbury, Ontario" (for read only)
Up-to-date data on the planet's surface (not actual, need to be edited):
It is worth noting that the data provided are not relevant for the following reason: after activation of the beam, the planet completely stopped, actually ceasing rotation on its own axis. It will take some time to establish new data, but we are, for now, getting ahead of ourselves. The main reason the Sudbury planet is of interest to the Brigade is that the activation of this structure and its prolonged operation fit perfectly with the events of the previous months and days. Let's move on to the next part of the review. PREVIOUS RESEARCH OPERATIONS The following factors were the main reason for a more intensive study of the anomaly:
Connection of these events began to be established after the Nomads made their daring (and successful) assault on the Omicron Zeta system. According to conventional wisdom, the Nomads do not use a standard expansion strategy as we humans do. In general, their strikes are more point-blank in nature, which is usually aimed at establishing strong channels to move their forces between all Nomad sources known to the Order and the cells of the infected. The practice of previous years (particularly the infamous Colony War) has shown us that our enemy is both cunning and powerful. The enemy realizes its weakness before humanity and does everything to weaken it and strengthen its influence before striking again. I had to consult the Order archives, particularly what we've been able to uncover in Zeta in recent years. There have been countless research and reconnaissance operations, and one of them attracted The Order attention only for a while, but its priority was put “on hold” because of the confrontation with The Core. Until now. The following photo is our biggest clue in this convoluted story. In this photo, we can see the Nomad Gate and two unknown structures akin to those built in the Tohoku system around November 834 A.S. My own notes have been made here, in my native language, so I need to clarify some information: シリウス - "Sirius", 領外 - "Beyond", 何ですか? - "What is this?"
That is, the gate looks both toward Sirius and can lead beyond it. As a rule, the truth can be established only when they are activated, which, at our level of technology, will be impossible: this privilege is available only to Nomads. In the following image, I'll point out exactly what caught my eye. These two additions have never yet been found on any other Nomad structures of a similar character. We have yet to learn their true purpose, but we can assert what the structures on which they are located can be used for. According to Tohoku, they are energy transmitters at a distance, via energy beams, as people could also see in the days of the siege of Nomad City during the Colony War.
Presumably, these extensions are some sort of locks to prevent anyone else from activating the structures. It's like putting a gun on safety: a stranger who takes it in his hands will simply not be able to fire a shot unless he knows how to unlock it. The logic is similar here: without these additions, the structures can be activated, with them they cannot.
My theory is that these two structures with outbuildings were left behind “earlier”, “until better times” by our alien opponents, and are now waiting to be activated. The recent attack of Nomads in Zeta only strengthens the plausibility of this theory, because, I repeat, their attack does not have the character of a typical human expansion. They need Zeta captured for direct access to their gate: the lock on the structures will be lifted, and they can use them as they wish to use them. And that promises us a subsequent activation of the gate either deep into Sirius or beyond. I believe we are talking about reconfiguring these gates and then activating them to connect to Sirius to support Nomad logistical and subversive operations throughout the sector even better. SUDBURY RESEARCH OPERATIONS Since the beam from the planet Sudbury is pointing toward the Coronado system, we need to run additional analyses. In particular, we need to install additional equipment to observe the surface of the planet, as well as conduct a research operation in Coronado. If this beam is indeed aimed at Coronado, then we have a good chance of seeing the Nomads establish a full connection between Zeta and Coronado. The proximity of the Inverness system will only intensify our alien enemy's operations right on the borders of Liberty and Bretonia.
Observing the surface of the planet will allow us to better understand its nature. Perhaps the surface itself is a “crust” of something more massive that is hidden beneath its surface. I have every reason to believe that this structure is another “gift” from Daam'Kvosh to its creatures, as its activation falls in the period after the destabilization of the hypergate and jump holes, during which the Earhart system was also discovered. It seems that we are dealing with the activation of a number of alien structures that were hidden long ago and finally waited for their time, alternately activating in all sorts of, sometimes even random, places. But everything has a pattern, and the planet Sudbury is no exception. Our objectives for the duration of this expedition will be as follows:
All research operations will be noted with separate entries in this logbook. If we are to get to the truth, we must get to work as soon as possible. 23/03/835 MISSION #1-835 - PLANET SUDBURY RESEARCH
FOR OFFICIAL USE INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION After reviewing the introductory information provided by Section 8, as well as the reinforcement of the Brigade's research and military forces in the Ontario system, the new task for the current week was to check the orbit and surface of the system in order to deploy observation probes. The probes were to be placed on the orbit and surface of the planet, to monitor its temperature and tectonic activity, and to observe the condition of the beam.
It was decided to organize a research expedition to install the necessary equipment for 835 A.S., March 22 at 18:00. The research ship Odyssey and three escort vessels, went to orbit the planet to carry out the work. EXPEDITION DETAILS The overall task list was as follows:
The transfer of all ships took a little time, due to the relative safety of the corridor as well as the cleanliness of the perimeter from hostile forces. The ships detected a number of hostile vessels of various organizations engaged in minor skirmishes near the planet's orbit. Fortunately, the expedition was able to bypass the fighting and take up safe positions for further observation. Upon reaching the planet's orbit, Odyssey began placing observation probes in orbit of the planet and its surface. The operation went on for quite some time, after which it was decided to shorten the distance with the beam and do all the analysis of the energy dome. ![]() Photo material made from OLV-Odyssey: "Planet Sudbury orbit, near the energy beam", March 22, 835 A.S. Placing the ship in a comfortable position, Odyssey fired several orbital shots at the energy dome, taking advantage of its size that took it outside the atmosphere. This was followed by several probe launches, both to orbit the planet, to observe the beam and to collect photo material of the structure at close range. Due to the destructive effect of the beam, it was decided to sacrifice the probes, having previously obtained photo-materials.
![]() Photo material made from OLV-Odyssey: "Experiment & launching probes", March 22, 835 A.S. As expected, the field has not been negatively impacted in any way by weapons, which confirms the previously provided data from Section 8. However, we were able to obtain close-up photographs of the structure. Unfortunately, their quality is far from the best, but that's some specifics.
![]() Photo material made from OLV-Odyssey: "Probes closing in to structure", March 22, 835 A.S. Additional information made by Odyssey scientific personnel Wrote:- "The Sudbury anomaly represents a convergence of advanced technology and ancient mystery. The energy field’s resistance to conventional penetration suggests a level of sophistication beyond our current understanding. Orbital probes have provided wide-spectrum scans, while surface units have delivered granular data on the field’s composition and behavior. Initial findings indicate a direct correlation between the hyperspace pulse and the Blackout event, raising urgent questions about the facility’s origin - be it Dom’Kavash, Nomad, or something entirely unknown. The implications are profound, and further research is imperative." SUDBURY SURFACE & ORBIT ANALYSIS RESULTS All other data concerning the planet was provided by probes placed on the surface. All probes were within a safe radius of the beam from the planet's surface, meaning that orbital and surface observations are not at risk from man-made threats from the planet. The only thing that could threaten them is outside interference, from other groups and organizations wishing to interfere with the Order's research operations on the planet.
According to the findings:
Relying on the data, we are faced with contradictions and lack of necessary information. For the sake of clarity, let me explain: scientists of all mankind have often asked questions about what would happen if some planet abruptly stops its motion on its axis or stops on its orbit altogether. As a rule, the consequences for this, due to the energy created from the motion and its abrupt release, will be catastrophic. Many experiments have been conducted that were only on paper. And now we can see the practical side of such theories. Sudbury, though still in its orbit, has stopped moving on its axis. It's like if you stand up, start spinning, and then stop abruptly. You'd feel discomfort, and on a planetary scale, it would be catastrophic. But Sudbury hasn't experienced any of the effects of the terrible tectonic activity, because the data doesn't show any major faults or anything like that. It seems that the structure itself is keeping the planet from being torn apart by such a dramatic change in its natural existence. Theoretically, this could mean that the Sudbury anomaly is a much larger and far larger structure not just on the surface of the planet, but within it. To pump energy from the planet's core and use it for such a powerful beam would require incredibly powerful and massive computing systems, and appropriate conductors that would not melt from such an energy flow and trigger a massive explosion under or above the planet's surface. I'll be more direct: Theoretically, the planet Sudbury is one huge structure crusted over as the surface we know it. Something like a massive alien object covered by a natural “field” created over many millions of years of its existence. This would explain why the structure hasn't been found before and how it manages to keep its thermal energy from spreading to the planet's surface. However, I wouldn't give exact figures as we need more information from the probes. Further observation will allow us to gather more details and establish the truth. BEAM DIRECTION AND FURTHER OPERATIONS The beam direction data is at odds with the claim that the planet is making a “shot” toward the Coronado system. Any energy flow requires a clear direction. A perfect example is a hyperjunction gate that always points toward the system you want to go to. Even just by opening a map of the New York system, you will find that the gate leading to California is located in such a way that it corresponds to the position of California on the map of the Sirius sector.
By drawing parallels, the theory was advanced that the beam is not firing toward the Coronado system, but toward the Tau Worlds. The best candidate is Tau-61. Additional information made by Odyssey scientific personnel Wrote:- "The data gathered by the OLV-Odyssey mission represents a significant step forward in understanding the Sudbury anomaly. However, the findings also underscore the need for further investigation, particularly regarding the facility’s origin and its potential ties to the Blackout. Projected beam is probably leading to Tau systems." Based on all the information provided above, my orders for the research team will be as follows:
Further observations will be made by myself in Ontario, and I will also be collecting data from Coronado and Tau-61. These are our two leads in this story, there are no others yet. 24/03/835 MISSION #1-835 - CORONADO PROBE DEPLOYMENT
FOR OFFICIAL USE INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION Once all the data regarding the Ontario system and in particular the planet Sudbury had been established, my orders were to move ships into the Coronado system to set up observation probes that could analyze the data within the system and confirm/refute our theory about the connection between the Coronado and Ontario systems.
That way, if the beam suddenly reached the Coronado system and made a connection to the Nomad gate, which we have known about for a long time, we would be the first to know about it. Expedition date was set for March 23, 16:00. OPERATION DETAILS The overall task list was as follows:
Clarifications Wrote:* In case of an unforeseen failure of the observation probes, probes orbiting the planet would still be able to track the very fact that the beam crossed the system. The reasoning behind placing the probes in the planet's orbit is that, in case the probes at the Nomad Gate fail, we have a backup that would be able to pick up the incoming beam. Note: the probes sent to orbit the planet Oraibi were purchased on the black market and do not carry any Order markings, while the data they transmit will go to the Barrier Gate first. This precludes any suspicion of the Order, should these probes be detected by outside organizations (particularly governmental ones like the LSF, Crayter and others). The path of the group proceeded as follows: Ontario -> California -> Cortez -> Coronado. All participating ships used a network of jump holes to avoid detection. The option of using the hole leading to Inverness to shorten the flight time was rejected due to the high activity of Technocracy and Nomads coming from that system. ![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Road to the Coronado system", March 23, 835 A.S. According to all the objectives of the operation, Brigade force of three ships moved into the Coronado system for further operations. Upon reaching the system, the first stop was the Barrier Gate (Section A), to replenish fuel supplies and clarify further objectives of the operation.
![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Odyssey at Barrier Gates", March 23, 835 A.S. The first point of interest was the Nomad Gate, once used by our alien opponents but now destroyed by the Order. Theoretically, a beam emanating from the planet could restart these gates and put them back in service. Placing observation probes has become the number one task of this operation.
Although it was expected that the gate would have similar structures to those we had seen in Omicron Zeta, this was not the case: it was still abandoned and destroyed and showed no activity. There was a high radioactive background in the vicinity of the gate, which actually made it impossible to set up observation probes in close proximity to it. ![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Nomad Gates, Coronado system", March 23, 835 A.S. The Odyssey crew calculated the correct orbit that would be safe for the probes and would not cause them serious radioactive damage. Although the probes would eventually fail, they would have enough lifetime to maintain stable data transmission for several more months to be replaced by new probes if necessary.
![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Odyssey launching observation probes on a stable orbit", March 23, 835 A.S. Additional information made by Odyssey scientific personnel Wrote:- "It is unlikely to be indicated in the attached photo material, but we have also placed several probes on a nearby fragment of the gate structure that does not emit a high radioactive background. Since it is in a stable orbit away from the gate, we have a solid safety net in case the orbital probes fail." After completing the installation of the observation probes, the expedition advanced to the planet Oraibi to install additional probes in its orbit. According to current data, although the planet has valuable resource deposits, it has harsh surface conditions that make its production unprofitable. The planet's remoteness from the civilized part of the Coronado system made it a suitable candidate for probes. Upon reaching the planet's orbit, it became clear that the actualized data about its value was true: Brigade ships had not encountered any suspicious individuals. The space body is completely abandoned from external observation and is of no real interest to anyone. Thus, Odyssey took an advantageous position and launched two pairs of observation probes directly into the planet's orbit, then established communication with them and began to receive data on the state of the Nomad gate in the Barrier cloud and data on the edge of the Coronado system. ![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Odyssey launching observation probes at Oraibi planet orbit", March 23, 835 A.S. After completing the installation of the observation probe network, the "Heqet" left the group formation and headed back to the Ontario system, while the Anubis and Odyssey returned to the Barrier Gates. The progress towards the Gates was uneventful and both ships reached the safe zone safely.
OPERATION RESULTS & FURTHER OPERATIONS Further operations on Coronado, at this time, are not necessary. After the ships returned to the Gate, the "Monolith" arrived in the Coronado system and became the transmitter of information from the observation probes to the Order's assets in Ontario. Now we have a stable network of probes located in two systems and two sites of our interest:
The plan is that any changes in Coronado will be our clue as to the purpose of the beam in Ontario. If everything is correct, we will, in fact, have answers to all of our questions about where and why this beam is firing. However, our research challenges do not end there. My doubts still torment me: is the beam really heading toward the Coronado system and not toward Tau-61? Tau-61 has been a subject of interest to the Order for several years now, and checking this system is no less a priority than checking the Coronado and Ontario systems combined. Based on the above information, my orders for the Brigade Ontario forces are as follows:
Departure time: March 25, 15:00. We are slowly getting closer to solving this puzzle, and I have every reason to believe that Tau-61 is as viable a candidate as the Coronado system. 28/03/835 MISSION #1-835 - TAU-61 EXPEDITION
FOR OFFICIAL USE INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION Based on the theories made during the analysis of the Sudbury planet, the Odyssey crew theorized that the beam emanating from the planet was not directed toward the Coronado system, but toward Tau-61. This is also confirmed by visual observations, despite contradictions in the mathematical calculations. Anyway, my guesses agreed with the crew's assumptions, and I thought that sending them out to explore Tau-61 on their own was not the worst possible idea. If they had doubted it, I would have taken command of the Odyssey personally, but I couldn't deny them the desire for initiative and their own enthusiasm.
The departure of the expedition was set for March 24, at 16:00. Three ships took part in the expedition, two of which were escorts and the third was the Odyssey and it's crew itself. The Barrier Gate was the rendezvous point for the ships, and the departure date was set a little after the completion of the Coronado expedition. As soon as the group was formed and clarified the tasks of the upcoming mission - they set off on their journey. OPERATION DETAILS The expedition had already prioritized its objectives upon arrival in the Tau-61 system. Since another asset of the Order, the battleship Amenta, was located there, upon arrival the expedition members were to dock with the battleship, perform the necessary technical measures and draw up a plan of action for further work.
The path of the group proceeded as follows: Coronado -> Baffin -> Tau-29 -> Tau-23 -> Orkney -> Tau-61. As always, the transfer of forces was carried out through a network of jump holes, which excluded detection of the expedition's ships by ill-wishers. The tension between Gallia, Bretonia and Kusari in the Tau-worlds also played into their hands, so that, in the chaos of random clashes, no one would pay attention to a small group of the Order ships. ![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Successful jump into Orkney system", March 24, 835 A.S. Advancement into the Tau-61 system via Orkney was not difficult. Based on information from Amenta's crew reports, the system was almost completely abandoned by any serious forces. All that remained of the Kingdom's former greatness were the hulks of stations and a single battlecruiser located near the hole leading to the Languedoc system. There is also some outside faction activity in the system, but it is extremely low compared to other Tau worlds nearby.
Progress to the destination was without incident, and at 17:17 the expedition reached the Tau-61 system. OLV-Odyssey crew Wrote:- "The OLV-Odyssey emerged from the jump hole at 17:17 Standard Time into what can only be described as "space's version of a dive bar after last call." The nebula's particulate density registered at high above baseline, reducing visibility to approximately 1000 meters and causing the radiation alarms to sing in perfect three-part harmony." Upon reaching the system, the group headed directly for the battleship Amenta, whose command had taken word of the impending expedition twenty-four hours earlier. The codes sent confirmed the group's affiliation with the Order, and they were accepted aboard. ![]() Photo material made from "Anubis": "Battleship Amenta", March 24, 835 A.S. Once stationed on Amenta, a meeting was held with the ship's command staff to gather all the necessary maps and current system status. Thanks to this, the points of interest of the expedition were established and a further plan of action was drawn up.
Based on the information received, the following has come to light:
Alfred Schwartz Wrote:- "Reminds me about our expedition." Clarifications Wrote:* Intelligence information stating that this Nomad cell, the so-called "Vagrants", do not belong to the main Nomad mind-share was also taken into consideration. The points of interest identified were unusual objects or ship hulks worthy of the expedition's attention. In the case of space objects, the emphasis was on finding links to the planet Sudbury and discovering the purpose of Tau-61, while hulks provided an eye-opener to Nomad and infected activity in the system. The following locations became points of interest of the expedition:
The route was laid out according to the order in the list above, where movement was by marks in the order “from highest to lowest in the list”. All further entries will refer to each point of interest, and with notes from the OLV-Odyssey crew. Further entries will indicate the planet Ourea. This planet is of particular interest to the expedition, and may open our eyes to the situation in Sudbury, either by answering all the questions later, or by adding more details to the puzzle. PLANET OUREA According to intelligence, the planet is inside another large cloud in the “Labyrinth”. The mapping indicates the presence of another large object that attracts the cloud contents to itself and does not allow it to dissipate. Nevertheless, it was that Ourea presented a special interest for the expedition, so it was decided to move there immediately after collecting all the necessary information about the previous objects. Since we don't know the exact orbit, gravity, and many other details of the planet, I'll point out what we do know for sure: a diamond crust of great thickness that creates an impenetrable natural barrier to anything below its surface. Immediately after approaching the planet, began its analysis, through the use of visual observation from orbit and the launch of ground probes, whose task was to establish what may be under the surface of the planet. ![]() Video-material made by OLV-Odyssey: "Surface probes launching", March 24, 835 A.S. OLV-Odyssey overview Wrote:- "Sixth point of interest, Planet Ourea. When we first made orbit around Ourea, the planet's diamond crust reflected our spotlights with such intensity we had to dim the viewports. Scanners immediately picked up the irregular orbit - this rogue world shouldn't be here. The gravitational math simply doesn't add up. Yet here it sits, held in Tau-61's embrace like a knife balanced on its point. The entire planet is sheathed in a kilometers-thick armor of diamonds. Beneath that glittering shell, our scans reveal something far more unsettling - regular structures. There it is! That's the clue! If this planet wasn't meant to be here, and there is “something” hiding under a diamond crust this thick, and there is nothing nearby to cut into it, then the launched beam from Sudbury may have been intended for that purpose. Although I can't be completely sure, this expedition has indicated to us that Tau-61 is a very viable candidate for further exploration. EXPEDITION RESULTS & FURTHER ORDERS Our task, for the next few weeks, will be to analyze the data we receive from Ontario as well as the data we receive from Coronado. Tau-61 adds to this chain and actually closes it, forming a circle of four systems at once: the three above and Omicron Zeta. Although my original point was about Omicron Zeta, the new data we've received suggests that there may be more to this than just the reactivation of two Nomad hyper-gates.
Thus, the gate in Zeta could be intended to either create a connection to Tau-61 or Coronado, while the beam from Sudbury could reactivate the gate in Coronado, or trigger something lurking beneath the surface of Ourea. We have a number of theories, each of which, in its own way, carries weight in this investigation. I now present a full slate of what we may be dealing with:
The last thing worries me the most: what if we are wrong about everything at once, and are simply powerless against what is hidden in the space of the Sirius sector and will only become known when everything comes together? In that case, the reaction of our units must be immediate. As such, maintaining the combat capability of the Atum battleship is a priority for the Brigade forces stationed in the Ontario system. If we can defeat Wyoming without losing one of our most valuable assets, the sudden change in the beam's nature will allow us to react almost immediately and nip the threat in the bud. Based on the above information, my orders for the Brigade Ontario forces are as follows:
At this point, we have no need for further research operations and must collect incoming data and monitor and react to any changes. My work is now complete, I am on the battleship Atum and awaiting further developments, hoping that we can defeat our alien opponents both on the battlefield and in predicting their future actions. Weapons are crude but effective force, but knowledge of the enemy's nature is God's instrument that can bring victory without the use of weapons. And we will use them for their intended purpose.
