Commanders and Squadron Leaders

I'll keep this brief but to the point.

We have been preparing an operation to strike the LSF when they inevitably make their move here in Ontario. The Battlecruisers Lehigh and Tuscaloosa have both been mustering at the California Jump Gate for some time, and our scouts think one or both will be deploying in a matter of hours. We suspect they will either move to secure a permanent presence at Sudbury, or run down the Lane Hackers that so considerately smashed open the hornet's nest recently.

Unfortunately, there is a complication. A senior agent associated with The Order has contacted us with an urgent transmission, urging us to provide immediate assistance with a developing situation. They claim to be chasing a target - the Battlecruiser Wyoming - that must be destroyed to avert a catastrophic situation for Liberty as a whole. The Wyoming seems to be using the LSF operation as cover. If we hold fast to our original plans, it may slip through the net. If we intercept the Wyoming, we will miss the critical window to ambush the LSF while they are most vulnerable.

We effectively have three options:

First, we can concentrate our strength and ambush the LSF while they are moving. If we are fortunate, they will be headed for Sudbury, and we can hit them in the gap between the star and Georgian Ice Field. If they're going after the Hackers, that's more complicated. This will block their machinations around Sudbury, at least.

Second, we could wait until the large LSF convoy departs, then strike the support vessel Robert Peary with the goal of destroying it and possibly the Jump Gate. There is no guarantee that the entire LSF force will depart, and it seems likely that at least one of the battlecruiser taskforces will secure that beach head. Taking out that ship will deny the enemy the means to maintain the jump gate, cutting short their presence in Ontario. This is likely to be a hard target.

Third, we could heed the Order’s request and help them encircle and destroy the compromised battlecruiser Wyoming. The involvement of our forces would guarantee the total annihilation of the enemy. Leaving matters to the Order alone, likely makes that an open question.

We must bear in mind, however, that the enemy’s quality advantage exceeds our own. We cannot field an effective strike force for more than one of these operations without risking a disastrous split in our ranks and resources -- especially if it means endangering our greatest symbol of resistance, the Liberty Rose.

Make your decisions wisely. We only have a handful of hours to consider our options. Our next move must be unified and decisive.

It's been a long time since we sacked Rochester, Ross.

That was our first real taste of what we're truly capable of, exploiting the fact that our myriad enemies always assume us to be insignificant, unwilling, or lacking the means. This inherent vanity and unrestrained pride has allowed us to tear victory away from the grubby appendages of tyrants time and time again.

I believe this is what will doom Liberty's dreams of an easy operation here. To still be operating under their age-old impression of us as being petty terrorists operating out of sheds and decrepit outposts. But we left those days of infancy behind long ago.

It's time we grew up further and realized our full potential. We must secure Ontario to be the bedrock of our future intent to seize full and functional independence from House Liberty. And therefore we must destroy the Robert Peary at all hazards.

Better that we all die in defiance than live in chains.

Better we act on our dreams rather than shrink away in fear of the price in blood of both patriots and tyrants.

I refuse to be remembered by the millions who come after us as a coward.

I refuse to let my future children grow up just to wage the exact same war that I am now.

So it is with regret that we must tell the Order to pursue the Wyoming on their own, suited for exactly such a task as they are, so that we might secure the very purpose behind our lives that we've been denied for generations.

Otherwise this has all been for nothing.
