A few days ago, I received a request from the Lovelace Circle to procure one of our Storta-class vessels. Their intention is to refit it in a manner reminiscent of the Destroyer Insidious.

My preliminary conditions for contemplating this request were as follows:

The vessel must be decommissioned from active service and sold for an amount sufficient to replace it with two additional ships of the same class for Malta’s defense.
The Lovelace Circle will undertake every necessary measure, including technological safeguards, to ensure the ship cannot leave their organization.

They have agreed to these initial stipulations and pledged to address our concerns. I should note that the Lovelace Circle is known for its reliability and has maintained a long-standing loyalty to us, unblemished by conflicts or threats toward the Outcasts or me personally. They participate in the Cardamine trade, and their base in Ontario offers an appealing delivery site for surplus Product.

This contrasts with certain members of the Inner Circle who have shown less enthusiasm for our presence in Liberty and would rather revive the Orange Treaty.

What are your thoughts on this request, Don Harabero? I believe we could strengthen our ties with them in a similar way as we did with the Gen'an while appearing generous.

I am not well acquainted with this organization you speak of.

I would like to get to know them a little better, certainly before we consider handing them our military technology. Before I can make my decision I will contact them personally.

If we do deem it a beneficial deal, it will not be primarily for credits - those are of little use in the grand scheme - but for their technology.

Then I will be able to make a more clear decision. These advanced warships are not simple toys to hand out to obedient puppets, after all.

By no means do I take this request lightly. Sharing our warships is a significant step forward in our relationships with intermediaries.

The reason I have chosen to support the Lovelace Circle’s request is not solely based on their conflict-free relations with Malta. I have been active in Liberty for many years, and this particular group of Lane Hackers has consistently met my needs without much hesitation - whether it involved acquiring sensors and reconnaissance equipment for the Militants to divert Liberty’s attention from our business, combat support or assisting with the automation of my plantations.

It is true that Malta typically maintains a certain distance from our trading partners. However, in this situation, I have come to the conclusion that their long-standing support merits some recognition from our side - similar to how we accommodated the Golden Chrysanthemums, who also received two Storta-class ships from Malta.

Stronger and positively motivated Lane Hackers will benefit us in Liberty in the long run.
