Just as the title says, is there going to be a final release in the Discovery mod?
And maybe if it will be, I got struck with the idea of an easter egg, just like in the original Freelancer.

Personally, I hope there will never be a last release of the mod.
It's just that it just might mean decreasing in activity on the server as people might get bored.

Simple answer: No.
As long as there are people here and people playing the roles in the game, there will be advancement.
I don't see the entire community suddenly going 'Right that's it, all done' and not making any more changes ever.

That won't happen as long as there is Hardware with which you can play Freelancer. If the game gets too old, there will be less and less people playing it simply because the game is too old for newer hardware.
Like the game called "Pharao" from Sierra. It can't be used with XP. And as far as i know, there is absolutly no way to get it running.

If I have anything to say about it, Discovery mod will not be over until the Bretonian empire can safely have a sushi dinner on New Tokyo, after wiping out the Kusari, although I doubt that's going to happen, since I can't see Igiss "abandoning" one group of players like that. Well, until either hardware fails it or people lose interest, I don't think Discovery will end, since part of its interest is the fact that situations change, and grand events happen.

Then you are lucky. I can't get it running at all.
Same with Thief1. On my XP-Laptop, it's running like... eh it's running well. But on my XP-comp.... not at all....

And Swifte, my Huskar will be flying with ya in 1 week.2 more exams to go.[off-topic]
