Rule clarification regarding 6.21 - aznremix416 - 05-23-2009 6.21 Attacking without an engagement notice is not allowed. All attacks must be preceded with some form of RP, regardless of NPC faction diplomacy. So that rule right there. I have a question for it. Alright so say you are leading a squadron of 4 ships or so. You run across a [RM] Player patrol. Well then you want to engage them and say "All wings break off and engage the Fascists. Weapons free" And we all move in and engage right? So my question is does that count as an engagement notice for your whole group or just for yourself? And if it is just for yourself do the other people in your group have to give an engagement notice? Rule clarification regarding 6.21 - Stygian - 05-23-2009 I've always wondered this myself. I usually just say "Roger that, moving in" or something along those lines. Rule clarification regarding 6.21 - carlabrams - 05-23-2009 Well, I would have to say that if you're in the LN and you saw a bunch of RM on your scanners and you were in Liberty territory - Something like what you just said would could since you're part of a fleet. But why would you not sit and taunt them for a while? Get some RP out of it, calling the Kanzler names, and making it more ... interesting ... for all parties involved. Before the '\ | /' issue in Bretonia, there was lots of times that the BAF and KNF would sit back, effectively within scanner range, and verbally spar. Rule clarification regarding 6.21 - Jihadjoe - 05-23-2009 ' Wrote:"All wings break off and engage the Fascists. Weapons free" Is plenty of RP. They know who is being talked about and you can move in and shoot. Rule clarification regarding 6.21 - tansytansey - 05-23-2009 you should at least give your opponents time to respond before going in all guns blazing, though. Nothing annoys me more than when I get an engagement notice and start getting shot at before I get a chance to roleplay back to them. Rule clarification regarding 6.21 - Baltar - 05-24-2009 Micro-rule play ... the reason that rule was created was because too many people just opened fire and killed whatever was red on their radar. It got so bad that people were flaming on the forums. Bottom line ... your announcement included your wing and the opponent you were about to attack ... should be enough. The point is that you did not just open fire on them without them being warned. |
