RESOLVED! - Kinjid - 06-02-2009

I have Vista... sadly and recently I started wanting to play Freelancer again... after uninstalling 2 times, the second time following DBoy's guide, I find my self unable to make a connection to the server.

----------------------------------------------

I have tried to ping the server ( 82.113.48.5 ) through windows command command, and no success.

----------------------------------------------

I do not know what would be causing this, as I have the freelancer ports forwarded, I unistalled Comodo FW, AV, and SafeSurf, to no avail... I don't know it my IP is being blocked or if vista just hates me that much but I would really like to be able to play, as this seems like a really nice server.

When trying to connect to server all I get(This is for both Freelancer and USA Server)
-
I'm Sorry, no connection could be made to the server. This could be to -insert useless windows excuses-
-
I get this error, IMMEDIATELY with out it even trying to connect,

do u start is as admin? and check ur firewalls

RESOLVED! - Kinjid - 06-02-2009

Yes I started it as admin(As in DBoy's guide) and as of my last notice, I don't have a Firewall enable(Windows Disabled)... I uninstalled my firewall / av in case that was the problem(which it wasn't)... and in case I added an exception to a disable windows firewall, which didn't help either..

My brothers computer( who is on same network ) is having no trouble at all connecting, though he is running XP

I'm assuming you are connected via a router.
Is there a firewall on the router ? It's possible it's not allowing traffic from your IP, specifically ICMP packets.
Try doing a tracert command - tracert <IP>.

ps: You've blanked out the <username> in the image you provided - except for the last line:)

Thank you, Thats fixed...

Same error with tracert, Destination NEt unreachable...
Screenie:

also it isn't my routers firewall, as I disabled it, and tryed to tracert and ping the server to no avail
