Slave Liner vs. Luxury Liner - Quorg - 06-10-2009
So, I'm looking at the stats for the Slave Liner and the Luxury Liner on the wiki.

Other than the look, I can't see any advantage whatsoever to the Slave Liner, making me wonder why it exists at all when the Luxury Liner seems better in every way.
Both have 11 class 7 turrets.
Both have a CD.
Both have 700 batts and bots.
Both have 80 impulse speed.
However, the Luxury Liner has the following advantages:
100 more cargo
40,000 greater hull strength
210,000 more power units
tens of millions of credits less expensive.
whereas I cannot find any advantages that the Slave Liner has that the Lux Liner doesn't.
Can someone explain this?

Well. Slave Liner is for carrying this item called slaves.
Lux Liner isn't. More for carrying VIP's and such.
It's more an RP difference.

And that if you ignore the stats, the Slave Liner and the Lux Liner are quite literally polar opposites when it comes to the cargo they are suppose to carry.

They sell a "Prison liner" on Nuemburg planet in Munich system, but it looks just like a Luxuary liner. Good luck if you get that huge ship, for it WILL get stuck in every trade lane you try unless you line up 'just right'.

Well, it's not really a race. You have no need for speed with a Luxury liner, as the trip is supposed to be long and relatively luxurious, and prison liners... well, it's fun to keep the inmates on edge awhile.
