I know this is stupid, but what if someone trades in a capship, especially a BS? It's not like they have small cargo holds.

Imagine this: Corsair Osiris smuggling artefacts, OC dreads dealing cardi with Junkers in NY, etc.

I can't recall any rules against it. Thoughts?

There isn't really any rules against it, although its a bit OORP really. I mean, why would you waste such an expensive and valuable ship on moving a few tons of drugs through hostile territory? Besides, you don't make anywhere near as much cash with a battleship as you would with a trading vessel.

Well, unless it was done for a very special RP reason, like an event, it's probably rather OoRP. I mean, there might be a case of a special group of researchers or politicians carried in one to a secure location by the military, but I imagine that would be rather rare.

Well I remember in vanila it was mentioned somewhere several capships were making a desperate attempt to resupply some base... maybe I got confused... was a long time back.

Anyway I feel that no one with half a brain will want to use a capship for that, just log into your trading character (I assume everyone with a capship would have one) and GET TRADING!!!

However, if the capship is making 100 runs to the same base... its definately NOT doing emergency resupplying oor evacuation... so you better have a damn good reason for that...

In RP, capital ships holds are one million.

They were only reduced for balance issues.

Well... isn't the Juggernaut for "trading" purposes, too?

Not for generic trading, but for emergency supply. Think about RL, aircraft carriers were only used to deliver food, pharmaceuticals and survival goods in real emergency cases as a first aid until the big supply operation starts running. They did it, when the tsunami devastated south east asia.

Capital ship Guard IDs have fairly strict zones of operation, precludes them from swanning all over Sirius
trading really. Back to the drawing board please ...

Although there is a history of it. The semi-famous Yoda, for example, one of the few Zoner Juggernauts who isn't shouted out of most House systems on sight. Havn't seen him recently though.

I don't think there are any restrictions on Ships, only IDs. If the corresponding ID for your battleship reads "Cannot trade/escort traders" then it's a fair bet you can't.
Though based on what Hoodlum said, you best be finding a pretty tight inner-house trade route. I know the Liberty Rogues have a trade route that only visits their bases, so you could trade in a LR Dessie.
