Collected Vista Connection Problem Fixes Thread - Hawkwings - 06-12-2009
So I've recently had some trouble connecting to any Discovery server on my Vista SP1 machine. To remove all question of networking issues, I connected quite successfully to the server on my XP laptop just five minutes ago. So, as a plea for help plus a public service, I am starting this thread. The purpose? List every possible fix for Vista connection problems.
I'll get the list started.
1. Make sure to run freelancer.exe in administrator mode
2. Run it in XP SP2 compatibility mode as well
3. Make sure it's not blocked by windows firewall

I have been having the same problem for about 3 months... No-one seems to be able to help. I've posted about 4 different things asking for help, and... no answers.

What anti-virus program are you using?
Read the tutorial in the post above yours and follow all the steps.
