ALG Waste Disposal - Cyberanson - 06-16-2009

Finally we managed to gain the status 'official'. Now it's time to get some feedback from some more members of our community. I know that the ALG roleplay is sometimes hard to understand, because it's not as stereotypical as the RP of some other factions. (Not meant offensive, just my opinion.)

I have quite narrow experience with ALG, primarily with the faction as a whole, Ventana personally, and with Ventana's characters in a few events.

The faction is well designed. I saw it develop before it became official and gave what feedback I could from the limited experience I had with DSE (which was developing parallely, though with a bit of a head start). It has turned out splendidly, and though I can't say much about the management style, the activity I have seen would indicate that there can't be much wrong with it.

Ventana is a great role-player, that's for sure. He is also a great leader, most obviously (to me, as someone not in his faction) very motivated, active, and with plenty of good ideas.

Ventana's characters are varied and independent of each other, in my opinion two of the most difficult virtues to attain in role-playing. He also accomodates other people's role-play, which in my experience is the simplest way to improve Discovery as an individual. Also unmistakable is the effort he spends on helping newer and not-as-well-off players. While Ventana himself seems completely unmaterialistic in his gameplay -- showing complete disregard for vast quantities of credits arguably much too often -- he keeps this and similar sentiments separate from his characters which I'm sure can be as greedy as any other.


That's really all the feedback I can give, and though it may be a bit indirectly on-topic, it should shed a modicum of light on ALG and their activities.

I hope ALG is still going well, I was on my Falling.Sun when you guys were doing the Clean up around Pittsburgh and some nice RP with Mr.MuldenKipper. I may return though because I honestly miss it. I forget but is their any fighter wings? If so count me back in, keep it up guys.

Off topic from the original post but as this is the feedback thread I'm going to post some, also some ideas that have sprung to mind. If I am overstepping my status I can only apologise but as I seem to be the only real active member recently I reckon I've got the right to a voice.

Firstly, ALG is suffering from a huge lack of activity, in between work I am on and off the server all day and I am more often than not the only official ALG member. I do see plenty of ALG independents and have tried to engage them in conversation about the faction. Interest in joining is usually lacking simply due to the lack of online presence. Many were not even aware there was an Official ALG.
We need to do something to raise our profile on the server. I have been conducting my own RP clean-ups in sigma 13 and my security fighter has had regular skirmishes with GMG fighters and corsairs in the same region to give the impression of something actually happening. I have based both my chars in Helgoland to try and create the illusion of ALG presence in that system, even if it is just sat meeting and greeting other vessels etc (not slot saving as I was accused of). However it is unlikely to draw much interest as I probably just appear insane amusing myself in such a way (and possibly am).

The Sigma 13 situation lends itself to some interesting opportunities for events. The 'uneasy stand-off' with GMG could be escalated to allow a new fight for dominance of the system, regular skirmish and diplomatic events, blockades etc. Clean up ops are an obvious choice, even though the debris field was nerfed a while back for reasons I am ignorant of.

We may be able to arrange some events involving the Junkers Factions as there is a presence in sigma 13 from them.

Even simple trade runs with a few escorts and traders are enough to catch the eye of prospective recruits. People like to see organization and a chance to become involved. Seeing one lone nutter shooting tin cans and mumbling in badly spelled german is not going to do much, but its best I can manage on my own.

Its sad that ALG would probably be a popular choice of faction for many people judging from the amount of ALG indies I see. A bit of hard work on the part of all current members for a while could see us with a member base that not only allows us to maintain the online profile but also to participate in events consisting of many ships instead of one. Other factions will be more than happy to arrange such events with us if they believe it will be a fullfilling and worthwhile venture.

Comment: I probably change my Job soon if Hogosha have a Licence to take anyones hole cargo anytime in Kusari Space and keep theyr "Semi-Lawful" status all fine. Pirats that take a small percentage are nothing compared. This is an outrage!

I would like advice and Involvement in this matter. Comments, wanted or unwanted, are unavoidable i guess.

Its a warning for other ALG and there should be a formal complain comming from the [ALG] Fraction to Kusari about this. I never saw this guys and never heard ALG vessels are in such an danger in Kusari space. Since when are we Cannonfodder there?

Yes and I spent next 5 minutes listening that I killed you because of I hate you on forums (not mentioning I never heard of you).

+ If you want to form an complaint I would post this on a special communication forum, not to OORP section. Just advice.

PS: If you say your cargo has 40 mill value and then offer a pirate 2 million fee, guess what happens...

Okay people lets sort this one out with RP.

We [ALG] have commnicated to the KNF/KSP our displeasure , lets see what goes on from there. Who knows, maybe they will declare the Hogosha unlawful!

But my main point, lets not argue here in this thread, we are all here to have fun.
