[KoF] Roleplay - Chakotay - 06-24-2009

Following the Admin decision to suspend our faction status.
We are examining and debating among clan mambers how we could alter our faction status write up, our roleplay or perhaps our ID's

Quote:We are formally serving you notice of your status suspension. There are reasons for this as will be outlined below.

1.) Your faction status as written is horrendous, it does not meet the standards required by new factions, nor standards acheived by older factions.

2.) Your server roleplay does not match your chosen NPC affiliation.

3.) Your ships are not flying a common tag and ID combination.

4.) Your role is fuzzily defined, What does the KoF do? What is it about? What are it's goals? This needs definition.

In short your general server presence is not at all what we expect from an official faction. It needs to improve forthwith.

You have 4 weeks to show improvement in these areas or your status will be revoked, you will lose ownership of the Minnesota system and you will be required to pay 500 million for a future proposal.

-point 1 - I will examine and try to improve to meet what the Admin require, any suggestions or feedback would be welcome.

-point 2 - We found that our roleplay when we first came to the server a few years ago did not match exactly any of the NPC affiliations. We decided that Universal Shipping was however very close to how we played the game at the time. Trading in Convoys with escort and being anti-pirate and helpful to the Navy and Police factions of all the houses.

-point 3 - All [KoF]-Chars should be using Universal Shipping ID and show the same iff on scanners, any that are not I wish to know about, so that I can kick butt and sort out individual pilots.

-point 4 - We are a registered Liberty trading company with a private group of Investors and a profit share scheme for all pilots. Our goal is to make profit.

Our Faction Status will be examined and Re written hopefully to a standard that Admins are happy with.
As to the ownership of Minnesota system.
We do NOT own Minnesota, it is my understanding that no faction will be allowed to own all of the Minnesota system. The route from Texas to Quebec must be open to all players and I understood this when plans for Minnesota were submitted.
The [KoF] own St Paul base and the Duluth Shipyard only not teh Minnesota system.
We welcome all traders and lawful faction affiliated visitors to Minnesota, Pirates are not welcome.

I'll be honest...

Take a look at the faction statuses and faction proposals of several other factions on the server. Read them through.

Notice how every approved faction has: Motives, Goals, and Ideologies.

I'm not saying that the KoF does not. But compared to several other trading factions, your current status is nowhere near the level of depth and complexity as the others. Yes, "All about the profit" does work to a level, but when juxtaposed next to something RepEx, Gateway, or the GMG has, it looks like a sorry excuse to trade.

No offense intended, just some pointers on the parts that you really need to focus on.

Also, decide whether you are a military or a corporation.

I remember you guys as having a very bad habit of acting like uniformed military when flying civilian colours.

In modern times, this would be considered a serious war crime. Here, it is actually against the rules.

Personally, i've heard rumours of also some of you going into Gallia, not council, but ROYAL space. And a small incident when one of your traders was also smuggling cardamine. But that really is the only thing i've seen from KoF, apart from the rare passing KoF trader....

Ive been here since Feburary 08, and I still do not have an idea about what the KoF do. I mean, a trading faction named the "King of Fighters"? Sounds more like the name of a Merc group to me. And "all about the profit" seems as good of a roleplay as "i stole it" for a Rogue tagged, LH ID'd Liberty dread.

Look at the status posts of comparable factions. Even the smallest ones are those of Samura and BowEx- the former being about three times longer than yours and the latter having unilaterally glowing feedback about their ingame activities (a luxury you do not have, to put it lightly). Background, goals, codes of conduct- these are the things you really need. "All about the profit"... what do you do with the profit? Hold on to it? If you use it to expand, explain how you use it to expand- what plans do you have for the future, what routes do you use, etc.

Give people as much information as you can- don't worry about metagaming, just pour out your mind. What do you do? How do you do it? Why do you do it? Those are the questions that should be answered in paragraphs.

In our RP we take "risky" cargo, but I have never saw any of us hauling caradmine. He are hostile to Outcast.

Ship Usage:
Our ships will fly Civilian ships and Liberty Civilian ships and weapons from the same sources. We will not use pirate ships or equipment under any circumstances as we obey the law and we are not smugglers.


History:
Mr. Chakotay and his colleagues had been employed by Universal Shipping since the time when Newcastle was beginning to be explored and started to become populated and soon after that when Munich system was opened up to trade contracts.

Leaving the main branch of Universal and forming his own sub-branch with the help of his friends and colleagues had been a difficult decision to make, and only after 3 years of hard work it was proving to be the correct decision for Chakotay.

His original idea was to lend and lease ships and then sub-contract only to Universal and to take contracts that Universal Shipping thought were too risky or dangerous or did not carry enough profit to be worthwhile.
[KoF], the newly formed sub-branch took these contracts and performed well and won repeat contracts and managed to negotiate improved fees and profits from supplying these goods.

Chakotay's next step was to expand and win contracts from other companies such as IMG, Orbital Spa & Cruise, Bowex and Republican amongst many others. One of the most valuable was a Freeport re-supply contract with the Zoners.

The plan was a success and the original start up debts, were paid off to Universal Shipping.

The [KoF] Organisation now is in the process of building its customer base, expanding it's transport and fighter/bomber escort fleet and of course recruiting new transport pilots.

(We occasionally mount anti-pirate patrols on our busiest trade routes and support the =LSF=, Liberty Navy and other allies in defensive ways whenever we can.)


How to join:
* New recruits must register with [KoF] forums and post an application.
* If accepted they become a Cadet and make a [KoF]-shipname and use the Trader ID for an assessment period. (Usually about 4 weeks.)
* After assessment the Cadet is promoted to Pilot Officer and must then adopt the Universal Shipping Reputation and ID.
* All [KoF]-pilots are expected to fly at least one [KoF]-Transport ship and one [KoF]-escort ship. (Fighter or bomber.)

There is in fact something you could do: Change your tag to [GST and join them instead of debating how you could 'alter' your roleplay. They fit your description and behaviour.

Most of the things I am concerned about have already been mentioned by the others, but let me give some statements on the poins.

First of all:

It is rediculous to start a faction description with a completely ooRP passage. Look at the others and learn how it is made right.

Secondly:
You are not a clan actually, but a company... at least you want to be called a company, don't you? So stop calling it a 'clan'. The Benitez are the only faction, which 'could' be called a clan respectively family clan.

Thirdly:
Your name indicates some kind of PvP whoring faction. I do not want to dictate you how to name yourself, but maybe you think about the naming of your faction again. With a name which fits into the canon I guess your chances will be higher to keep your official status.

To draw a conclusion: I do not see you faction improving the RP on the server at all, like most of the other factions do. I would really love to see you rethink your group so that we all can profit from in in a RP manner.
