David Freisener - Rodent - 06-26-2009 David Freisener was born in 775 A.S on the planet of Denver in Colorado. His parents worked for Ageira aboard Pueblo station and were often forced to leave Young David alone. he grew up with almost no supervision and was known to be rebellious and headstrong. His brilliance in studies, particularly in higher mathematics however were quite the redeemers. He passed out from the Denver University of higher sciences in 793 A.S and was picked up by the navy to help in their research. At his time in West point academy which lasted 4 years, David was proven to be a worthy scientist and played a pivotal role in developing the new "Enhanced Thruster" for the navy. He also took a flight and arms course to defend himself and was decidedly average in those fields. He picked up snatches and bits of research from the other scientists and was married to Barbara Johnston, A Fuel specialist aboard the west point in 796 A.S. They had been married less than one year when that day came. On 26th October 797 A.S, David along with a few other top scientists were to board a transport LNS Ticaderonga to be taken to Manhattan for *classified research* . That transport set out for Manhattan, but never reached its destination. It was as if seemingly the transport had gone into a black hole, there were no traces of it left. The liberty navy published in response to queries that the Transport was hijacked by a rogue squadron and taken into the badlands. The truth was something else however.... David Freisener - Rodent - 06-26-2009 The LNS Ticaderonga had used a cloak device developed by the navy and headed into the dreaded Zone-21. That name was a cause of dreadful rumor and only a few knew the truth about it. It was in fact the guardian of a jump gate into the alaska system, a system used for advanced research of a very classified nature. That was where David Freisener was headed. He shivered with the cold, and wondered why the journey was taking so long. some interruptions along the way perhaps, He thought. After a long journey of 3 days, the ship suddenly came to a standstill. Looks like we have arrived, David thought. When they stepped out he was surprised to see they were not on a planet, but on a Station. Probably a pitstop for fuel, He thought but those thoughts were disproved rather quickly when the LNS Ticaderonga headed back the way it came after everyone was out. What the hell? There were a million questions in his head as they headed to their quarters. I will ask around at the first opportunity He Decided. He was driven to his quarters which were military fashion and fell into a dreamless sleep. He was woken up at 5 A.M by a guard. "Hurry up, we have to work!", He said. "Coming, Coming" was the reply. As he paced to keep up with the guard, he asked the question which was pestering him. "Where are we?" "Alaska, Did'nt you know?" David Freisener - Rodent - 06-27-2009 The rest of the story is told by David in first person perspective. Alaska, I thought, What in the world is alaska?. The reasons do not matter now. I have spent nearly 15 years in this hell hole now. The sense of uttermost despair was never far from me in these years, the feeling of being utterly isolated and alone, being taken beyond friends and kin and the creeping feeling that I did'nt Exist anymore. In these despairing years, my work was the only redeeming factor, curiously enough. Work meant I could talk to other people, solve problems and compute solutions, it gave me a feeling that I was useful at least in some way. During these years, I found out that we were on Kodiak research station. Some of my colleagues and friends were doing research on some strange organisms that I did'nt fully understand and know about. Secrecy was an important factor in all dealings aboard this research station. once our work shift was over, we were escorted to our seperate cells by a guard. I disliked the night, although there was no concept of night and day as such because then the dark thoughts would catch up with me again. On 22nd December 812 AS, Something happened. I woke up with a start to the sound of the alarm blaring. Bleary-eyed, I checked the clock. It is 4 AM, not the usual time for the training session of the guards, I thought. Even more curiously, The door was open. Usually the doors were only opened by the guard when we had to work. Donning my typical Scientist's jacket, I rushed out of the room. First thing I saw, The guard lay slumped against the wall. My first thought was that he was asleep, but then i saw the blood. He was dead What in the world?, I thought. Taking the standard Issue blaster from the dead guard, I moved quickly down the corridor and checked the rooms. Most of my colleagues lay dead. The butchery!, My thought screamed. David Freisener - Rodent - 06-27-2009 Apologies, but this is in wrong forum, Admins, move this to Character Biographies please. My thanks. David Freisener - Rodent - 06-29-2009 I moved quickly through the various rooms and sections of the station and soon was quite lost. The scientists had little access to parts of the station other than ones concerned with work. While i was moving into a section which marked *Extraterrestial research*, I heard it. There was no mistaking it. It was gunfire. I still remembered my basic training from west point. The blaster in my hand was quickly charged and readied and i moved cautiously towards the source of the noise. Once I had established where the noise was coming from, I cautiously peeked inside. I saw several people with navy uniforms fighting others in a black uniform i could'nt quite place. Who are they? have they killed my friends?, I thought. But as far as I could see it, the navy guys were losing , I saw one go down, and another and then another. Soon all of the room was clear. A person who seemed to be the leader, although he had nothing to distinguish him as such barked orders to his team, who quickly complied. Before I could realise the danger, 2 of them were rushing in my direction. How can I survive? I am not likely to escape their grasp, maybe I should try to surrender, I thought. Yeah I know, no backbone. But I had no reason to fight them, and some part of my mind dimly grasped the distant notion of freedom. So as the 2 guys ran in my direction, I suddenly showed myself and raised my arms in gesture of surrender. They were visibly surprised and talked to their leader over the wireless, presumably about what to do with me. After a short talk, the taller of the two spoke. "We will search you for anything dangerous. If you are clean, You may come with us" This reply was startling, but I was grateful for it. Dying was not on my agenda. After a quick but thorough check up by the 2 guys, they nodded and ran. I followed them as quickly as I could. They entered the area marked *extraterrestial research* and blasted through a door labelled *High Security- Authorized personnel only* . Following them, I saw rows of Cryocubes, and they were filled with something. But these were different from any I had seen, they were blue and looked rather, Parasitic and different from any aliens I had heard news of. Even as I was contemplating, the 2 guys with me joined up with a bigger task force and began blasting up the Cryocubes. They were almost finished with that, when they suddenly recieved a message over the wireless and ran. One of the two guys who caught me came up to me and said. "Paul McAvity, follow" I followed Paul as he dashed through the corridors. After a few minutes of running, which had me panting and huffing, we reached the hangar. A big transport ship of unknown design was there. Several of Paul's comrades where entering the ship, whose rear hatch was open. Paul gestured to me that I should do the same. After I entered, I saw there were a few other scientists, but I did not recognize any of them. Finally, tormented by curiosity, I asked the fellow nearest me the question that was on my mind. "Whom do you work for?" The reply was short. "We work for the order" ****! David Freisener - Rodent - 07-01-2009 I thought I was dead. The news was full of horror stories about the terrorist organization that was the order and their practices. I shuddered to think what might happen to me. But as we neared our destination (so it seemed to me), nothing bad had happened to me. After sometime I saw a huge battleship on view. It was in shape and design like the Missouri I had seen once. The only difference was that it was much bigger. The transport docked at it. I was immediately shoved out and taken to a room that appeared to be the command headquarters. looks like a decision is going to be made about me, I thought. As I walked into the large, but utilitarian room, I saw a few men seated in the centre of the room, they had computers nearby and It appeared to be the classical command centre. One of the guards walking with me moved up to them and talked for sometime to them, but I could not catch the words. Then an old weary looking man turned his penetrating gaze on me. "So you are a research scientist" The classical questionnaire I nodded in response. This was followed by several questions about my field of research and general information on it. Then suddenly a very difficult question came. "Why were you in alaska and not in any other research institution?" Damn "I believe it was because of my expertise" "Were you taken there of your own will?" I was at a loss for a reply. Then slowly I said, "no" They nodded as If expecting that reply. After some deliberation amongst themselves the old man launched into a speech. "You might think that the order are terrorists" Damn Right "However, It may be hard for you to believe, but we are not. We are victims of the propaganda of a vast media. We cannot convince you by speech, so we have decided this. You will stay with us and work in our research wing on Planet Toledo, you are now dismissed. Guard, show him his workplace and quarters" I was confused. I was expecting them to kill me, torture me or at least imprison me, but here they are leaving me almost free. It was all very puzzling, Had Liberty indeed lied? If so, it was a lie of massive proportions. The first thing I noticed about Toledo was the cool Air. Refreshing was the thought. I was used to the not too clean Air of Liberty planets. I worked in their research wing for a year, in which I enjoyed my new found freedom,I could go where I pleased, hiking, skiiing, It was exhilirating after Alaska. My opinion of the order quickly changed and I found out the actual complex position between them and Liberty. I also found out information about those aliens I had seen in Alaska, they were called the nomads, or more scientifically, the Slomon K Hara (I learned the term from Kendra Sinclair, a famous Xenobiologist of old) There is Little to tell after, The order decided I was good for military duties and assigned me to the new built Hathor class gunboat "brindall". And that is where I am at and I am living my life in freedom.... |
