This is a suggestion with some reason, lately we're being hit with forum lock at peak times.

Therefore I ask that someone, or a good invisionfree person can build a forum where the current admins and mods have same privileges.

This server will serve as another way for people to post their server announcements and event information. This may be redundant with Skype, but it can help as a reference and non-Skype users.

This is not a copy forum, but a backup with peak times.

Post thy feedback.

Could easily be done (except for posts & users being transferred, unless you're planning on buying another IPB).

Again, though, I'm more than willing to help optimize the forums and such. I know what I'm doing, I like to believe, and have several ideas. If the admins are interested, well, PM me or something:P

Anyway...Can be done, but users would have to re-register and posts would be lost unless you're willing to spend big on it. Highly impractical, sorry:P

i have no idea how to do any of this.

But I certainly support it.

I can do it, but probably not securely, nor do I want people calling me a power whore. Its just VERY annoying when the forums lock up.

This CAN complicate things and annoy people with re-registering and people 'faking' accounts.

But the benefits are there.

The best, easiest & least costly alternative, would be invisionfree. That'd mean ads, no posts transferred & re-registering though.

Invisionfree is easy, I learned how to use it at a moderate level just by making a dummy clan site. Re-registering IS the flaw though.

The Only way to prevent that would be buying a new IPB forum, getting a server for it (not the one this one is on), getting a new domain for it, and transferring a copy of the database.

Oh God bless... Is there a way for a private server to be linked with an invisionfree site? Just for usernames and stuff?

Nope.

How about copying the current database to the new one?
