Renzu Redux - elgeeko - 06-28-2009 I've noticed a general distaste towards import ships in my lurking period before becoming active here, and while I sincerely hope to see some of the very talented modelers in the community replace the imports, I figured I could give a partial remedy until then. I may not be such a good modeler, but I know a bit about textures. The Homeworld ships seem to have the greatest potential, so Ive started re-texturing the so called 'Renzu' line. I aimed for a pseudo-Kusari look, but tried to make it appear heavily diluted by the 'independent manufacturer' streak. Is there a Renzu logo or something similar out there that I could stamp on the hull? Behold, the alpha version of the Renzu LF (its not finished mind you); Is there any need or desire for this re-texture/a re-texture of the rest of the homeworld imports? I'd like to note that this sort of re-texture can be applied via a simple file copy/paste and I'm currently using the above re-texture even as I play online. If the devs do not wish to package it in an update or if a full replacement ship is expected by that time, then it can be applied by interested players via a separate download. Questions? Comments? I don't know what the admin stance on an unofficial retexture would be (one for the better, and not one for a PvP advantage like bright pink.) Renzu Redux - elgeeko - 06-28-2009 Yes, I won't release anything until/unless A; there is enough player interest B; there is administrator permission Renzu Redux - NerdRage - 06-28-2009 The Devs are trying to replace all the imports completely, so i don't think it's worth the effort to re texture them if they are going to be replaced any way. i reckon it look better than the original import texture. the white stood out a bit too much, as with all the imports Renzu Redux - elgeeko - 06-28-2009 Well for me it depends... Unless those replacements are coming out by next month I could (in theory) have re-textured them all.
