i have the basic pirate ID, with freelancer IFF. wondering if there is any reason i CANT use the img gunboat.
Pilot carrying this ID is an independant Pirate of the Sirius sector, who:
can demand credits or cargo from traders and unallied smugglers or faction.
can engage pirates, terrorists, and lawfuls within their zone of influence.
can fulfill unlawful bounty contracts.
can trade and escort smugglers.
can ally with unlawfuls, mercenaries, and freelancers.
cannot ally with any lawfuls
cannot use any ship with more than 3600 cargo capacity, except for the pirate train.
cannot land on any lawful bases across sirius except for zoner bases.
allowed ships: fighters, bombers, freighters, transports, gunboats, pirate train.
players using the Pirate ID must have either an unlawful tag or freelancer tag and their operation must also reflect their tag.

Not without a very good reason. The IMG doesn't make a habit of supporting pirates.

yeah, but there is nothing specific about the ID that says it has to be a pirate ship. and it is freelancer IFF.

And it says you can use IMG ships with forum RP. Sooo, what drake said, with a very good reason, that is documented on the forums.

Looks to me like an exclusive infocard. Hence, Hydra is IMG / Colonial only.
Edit: I would wholeheartedly suggest the Zoner Gunboat.

yeah, but the zoner gunboat only has 4 turrets, doesnt it?

Yes, you don't need more than four turrets for piracy. You also have two mine droppers in a Zoner gunboat - great for getting down the trader's shields.
Roleplay hub, but the exclusive infocard means you won't be able to get the ship without Special RP approval.

Zoner GBs are more or less civillian, you know. Just like, for example, Xenos using Eagles.
