Cap ship of an fraction and pirating - Drakaisyl - 07-02-2009 I have a question (yeah once again it's me :-) ) Is it possivle to purchase, just for example a Liberty BC and do pirating ? I mean, even a captain of a liberty cap ship can switch sides and become a pirate. But in the server rules it says, that it isn't possible.I thought it would be some interesting role play story,if you can give realy good reasons why you switch the sides. Drak Cap ship of an fraction and pirating - Drake - 07-02-2009 No capship larger than a gunboat can actually pirate, even if it's part of a pirate faction. It is theoretically possible to have a lawful capship as part of an unlawful faction (it's happened before), but you'd need a good reason to have it and a good story written. Even if a captain decided to go rogue, that doesn't mean his crew would (extensive crew, on a large ship). And 'I stole it' stories, no matter how well written, won't be accepted. Cap ship of an fraction and pirating - 11of10 - 07-02-2009 If you really did write a good story to support that, you probably could. However, bear in mind that the captain is not the only person on the ship. If he starts to act funny, his XO will releave him of command in an instant. Therefore, that would have to be a mutiny. And, for that to happen, it would either have to be for some great cause, which piracy usually is not, or that they are heavily under-payed, which I do not think the Liberty Navy is. Also, anything bigger than a gunboat cannot pirate. It is stated in the rules. So, I guess you would actually need a Terrorist ID, which is only given by the Admins. And I am not really sure if it allows you to pirate. Think about it. If you really want to role-play a battleship, what it could be like... Use your imagination.
