I logged onto the server as a new player, so I need to create
a new character. I type in the name but it says it's already taken.
So I thought 'Ok, that's possible'. I tried numerous times but it
keeps saying 'character name already in use'. It doesn't matter
what I type it keeps saying that.
Is there a way to solve this problem? (already tried re-installing)

Try a complete re-install and dont change any of the setting from default. Apparently this can cause a problem. If you already did this... ummmm.... wait for cannon

Existing character name would be helpful, as it's hard to find one account out of ten thousand ...
