Ok can Mercs Hunt outcast? - FraserTE - 07-03-2009 Right before the server crashed i was beeing hunted by 2 mercs that were both nutrual to me something about a blanket bounty and i was in california. Mind you they were nutrual to the base i was near as well the liberty rogue alcatraz base. This technically oorp since there firing at me and none of the local npc's firing back or the base ? If you were near an Outcast base, then it would have been OORp. But near a Rogue base, I can't really tell. You aren't the owners of the base, even though you influence it... You aren't the owners of the base, even though you influence it... yes but if ure hostile with the oucast you will be hostiled with all other allied forces lane hackers rogues mollies other wise its rep hacking if a merc is gona hunt un lawfuls they need to be hostiled to un lawfuls. i was seeing them as pure white. Ok can Mercs Hunt outcast? - Grail - 07-03-2009 If you were seeing them white than it is your rep that is neutral to them, maybe freelancers (using merc ids). But still following an OC to a rogue base and not beeing engaged by npcs and the base, strange. maybe some sort of OORP. Ok can Mercs Hunt outcast? - Grimly - 07-03-2009 Only 3 words : KILL THEM ALL ! On a serious note, you won't find any freelancer having bad rep on npcs since they aren't looking for it, they are looking for THE BLUE MESSAGE ! I don't know how much tried to kill my 2 liberty characters but because I was red for them (having guard tags that's easy for them). I do not see the point of a freelancer ID in fact. The vigilant ID exists now, the BHG ID exists as well. Even the Mercenary ID, it should be fully unlawfull or something like that ! Please show me only ONE freelancer IDed playing in populated space and that are not looking for pirate kills cause the same pirates killed his traders lot of time. Ok can Mercs Hunt outcast? - Elvin - 07-03-2009 Well, they can, to answer your question. Although that someone is white to you doesn't mean he/she is neutral, just that you may have messed reputations, or the target can have no IFF as well. But, if Merc decides to attack Outcast, near OC allied base, he should make sure that he is hostitele with OC and the allied faction, otherwise it makes no sense in RP means... when you think about it - They attacked me next to Rogues, Rougues did nothing. Does that mean Rogues paid them to kill me? - Logically yes. Although I doubt it was like that. They prolly simply keep reps with everything possible neutrall to make the work easy - NPCs never make trouble so you can pursue, fight and run with no interruptions. Metagaming and RP trashed, yes. A bit OORP, yeah, but don't worth reporting in my opinion, just telling them via PM should be ok I guess. My first character on this server has been, and remains to this day, a freelancer. After they added the drop rep command, I was actually able to GET the freelancer IFF to match the ID, even - although it was costly. The only reason I fly in a big, bad gunboat is because I'm concerned about MY safety. If you decide to mess with me, then I plan on surviving the combat. But otherwise - I'm pretty much not interested in starting anything. Ok can Mercs Hunt outcast? - tansytansey - 07-03-2009 Yes, Mercenaries and Freelancers should be hostile to the opponents they are fighting, even if only temporarily. They should have fired CDs at the NPCs or the base before engaging you. The fact that they were lurking around Alcatraz in the first place is another matter altogether... If so, then *shrug* No comment. As for the mercs, what can I say, if you'd attack a policeman near, say FBI HQ, you'd get sniped, wouldn't you? |
