Windows 7...What do you expect? - William Frederick Cody - 07-03-2009

Title says it all.

For me, i am using XP. I would only change my OS, if it would be much better than XP.

Vote!

Same here. I got no damn reason to change for A la vista de la merde or for Windows lucky 7

.. Unless windows seven is really awesome.. but my computer sucks so much, I don't think it would be worth trying to install it.

Windows XP does everything I want it to do perfectly and I never felt like I needed something else.

Running windows 7 right now, disco works flawlessly, have had no complaints whatsoever. This is the first M$ product in many years that I actually like and will buy a legal copy

I'm surprised.. At least it is a good surprise.

What good thing is there about it?

(haha I :ylove: your signature.. thought I don't think the teacher would get it :P)

Well boot up times are hugely reduced (and not just cause its a fresh install because I've had it a few months now and had time to clog it up). It runs well, the UI really is well thought out and designed. And everything does actually work (surprising considering it was build from vista). Plus the upgrade license s only going to be like ?50 if you pre-order (for home premium) so its pretty cheap.

No I don't think most teachers would get it:Dtoo bad they don't set you lines in uni, my lecturers would appreciate that.

I would expect continued, good connection with no problems, as I will continue running Windows XP, as I am cheap as hell...

I've been using Win XP for a long time... tried Vista for a bit, couldn't get 64-bit running because of my motherboard...

When I learned about Win7 beta, I d/l-ed a copy, found a BIOS update, tried Win 7 64-bit... stopped using Win XP...

It's awesome! Finally an OS using all 64-bits my PC has to offer... and of course the UI now runs of the GPU... freeing up the CPU.

On an old machine (after adding a 4 GB USB stick as ReadyBoost), we even got faster boot-up and reaction times than with XP. O_o

The only issue you could run into is when you have old hardware that has no drivers for Vista.

Windows 7 will not be able to run non-directX 10 games.
However, in it will be present an XP somethingeyIdon'tknowthe name which will allow that.

I think there'll be ways to make it work.

Worst case, make your sys dual boot.
