NPW's Racing Ships. - GADC - 07-05-2009 Greetings All I have great news to Inform you GADC civil dept. has agreed to build the following. HPR-Dodge-Sled -- A Linear Racing ship designed for the explosive fast races ether in Dublin or else where. High Performane Racer or HPR is the class of light fighter. Now since this is still a concept design this is no where close to the final product but gives a general perspective. HPR-Performer -- HPR-Pulse-- ----------------- PR- Whippet -- a General Racer for both Linear and non linear racing its more agile PR- GranTuri PR- Light And for the working class GADC is proud to announce the following project. USV-001 "Link" -- Very light Vessel with the a single turret to be mounted for Repair turrets or Mining. This is a specialized ship for specific tasks. Edit: I just want your opinion on the racers and what you think should be added or not added, the USV would have be discussed when i put up the pictures... >>>>>>>>>>>>I will have pictures up soon.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< NPW's Racing Ships. - tansytansey - 07-06-2009 Personally, I don't see why we need specific racing ships. All fighters are the same speed, so why don't we just race whatever we want? Seems like a waste, to me... Also, for a racing ship your model doesn't seem very stream-lined to me, with that massive hump on its' back. As for the USV-001 "Link", there are no repair turrets in the game. Nor will there be, I'd imagine. Think about it... how does it make sense that when you shoot someone with a beam of energy that it magically fixes their ship? We have the CSV, this ship just seems... less important. NPW's Racing Ships. - Etaphreven - 07-06-2009 That "massive bump on its back" is probably a turbo engine. Seems like a waste, to me... Also, for a racing ship your model doesn't seem very stream-lined to me, with that massive hump on its' back. All fighters don't have the same turning ratio though. And we can choose anything we want but some wants something that had more glamor to it. It is my belief that this will open another big chapter of RP for those who want it. You could argue that the level of importance is in the RP one wishes to have or in justifiable means many have. Quote:That "massive bump on its back" is probably a turbo engine. Believe it or not the idea of having a symbol of racing or something we can familiarize with is the main and only point this designs can work. To be fair I would just make a long stick with a very small intake and to me that would seem logical. It doesn't have to have function It just has to look like something powerful. It gives association to the players. BUT that is not the style of Discovery... Streamlined...so the design is catered to coherent style. Again for the PR models are going to be completely different in its structure. NPW's Racing Ships. - Andrew_Bonesovich - 07-06-2009 I would like more race ships in the mod. If there would be more tracks. How hard is it to put a few racing rings into a system? I dont think it is so hard, but correct me if Im wrong, I have no experience with modding stuff. I would love the person who would make a few new tracks on various places in Sirius. As for the race ships themselves, give them two thrusters (or make their thrust speed a tad higher, whatever) and no guns (maybe one turret for lulz), so they are different from other ships and thus worth buying for racing. Other than that, the model is okay, but the engine on the back looks too massive for a light swift racing ship in my opinion. Whole ship is a bit too massive, but meh. I would imagine more something like the Arrow. Yeah, pimped Arrow, would be cool. NPW's Racing Ships. - RmJ - 07-06-2009 Quote:I would like more race ships in the mod. If there would be more tracks. Agreed I suggest the less bulk he agreed, A update on a revised style picture will be included in a post later on along with the other concepts for the other models. |
