space entitites - masternerdguy - 07-10-2009 It would be cool to have space entities larger than microbes in the edge nebulas (select ones). They'd have to be gelatinous to withstand the pressures, but it would add a lot of cool RP opporotunities. First to the Zoners and Order, they can have a lot of fun collecting samples as well as observing the behavior of the organisms. Second, they could drop something valuable, like organs, that some smugglers may be able to harness. The way I see it, this could be contraband for zoners and order. They would have to be their own faction of course, and have the cabability to inflict damage on you (a very small amount). This is my concept drawing: It's simple enough, the jellyfish. Cruise engine would be between tentacles and effect would be a yellowish fluidy ooze. The weapon is a short range (10m) gun that inflicts 1000 damage, a stinger. Just something I woke up with.:ylove: space entitites - Drake - 07-10-2009 I actually kind of like this idea. Though, rather than a faction, making them little 'rocks', like the mineable rocks in asteroid fields, would work better. Little sparkly jellies floating around a nebula, I can see it. Shoot them and maybe they drop some new commodity, possibly contraband but definitely interesting to the Zoners, Cryer, etc. space entitites - masternerdguy - 07-10-2009 ' Wrote:I actually kind of like this idea. It would be nice to see some more alien life in Sirius (of the non-blue non-evil kind) space entitites - farmerman - 07-10-2009 Alternately, they could be a commodity like Gaian Wildlife. Something else for scientists to study. space entitites - Monk - 07-10-2009 ' Wrote:It would be nice to see some more alien life in Sirius (of the non-blue non-evil kind) I think it would be more appropriate to call it native life. Humans are the aliens, lol. Anyhow, I like the idea a lot. Sirius feels a little sterile, some biodiversity would be good. space entitites - 11of10 - 07-10-2009 Hooraaay for space monstarz!!:) A crystaline entity? Ehm, yes, I've been watching the Star Trek lately.. The Jellyfish you allready mentioned. An aggresive space dragon that you must feed with Money in order to survive? (Ok, this one is stolen directly from Master of Orion 2) This would be just great if added. space entitites - kemira - 07-10-2009 Make a dockable gas giant, and make possible fly on the atmosphere, and do some giant floating whales, for the hunt. space entitites - masternerdguy - 07-10-2009 ' Wrote:Make a dockable gas giant, and make possible fly on the atmosphere, and do some giant floating whales, for the hunt. are you serious? space entitites - Sprolf - 07-10-2009 I actually like this idea. I like this idea a lot. There's two ways to do this: Have the jellies be ordinary ho hum particles like one mines everyday... Or add them as a an actual NPC ship that's neutral to everything, voiceless, slow, et cetera... You couldn't animate them, but they could be similar to a volvox or some other colonial microorganism-based creature. There's NPCs in the real game that don't show up on your replist - The Unknown Faction, Quintain's Men, Kress's Men, and the corrupt navies and such. Making this "faction" not show up would be easy enough. This approach would make mining and researching more interesting. Rather than chasing random particles, you'd be chasing a "ship" as it were. They wouldn't be very big at all, obviously, and the engines could either be nonexistent or a little trail of sparklies - or something that looked like tentacles on a jellyfish. (At this point, I'm just randomly rambling, I know little about this area of modding, and I'll be quiet.) |
