Hi DEV'
Would it be possible to change the colour of guard id's from red, I am fed up jumping around and out of tradelanes when I see a red name, it used to be only pirates and enemy, whom you saw around with red tags, now ever mother and son has a red tag. either that or restrict guard ID's to guard systems, if it can be sorted please do so.

//signed & how many are Zoner-Guard just trading. I'd suggest blue.

[EDIT as I was cleaning the cats litter tray I started to realise that this problem isnt easily solved by a colour change as a Molly Guard being Blue is still a Molly Guard. Maybe the dev team got it right.]

As a slight aside (already)
I think allowing Guard IDs to trade is the core of the problem so if usage of freighters & transports were removed from them, 90% of this problem would go away. I also (obviously wrongly) thought the purpose of playing a Guard was to errguard.

How about if it made the colour of them the same as the non-guard version? Obviously the rep would probably still be hostile, but you'd know if you were actually dealing with a proper hostile or not.

Transports were added to the Zoner guard ID to make it difficult to get and encourage corporisation, hasn't really worked, now there's a quad bribe on bethlehem and droprep it's pretty easy.

i don t know if thats possible...

reason for that is ... they are not red cause they are guard IDs - they are red cause your char is considered to be hostile to them. - so the solution would be to make "hostile" contacts non red, but that would in turn of course also turn those non-red that are supposed to be red.

something that "might" be possible however is to display the faction tag in the targetting window ( in the lower left window ) - so that it instantly reads "zoner - [name]".

but we haven t even managed to make "guard" IFFs display "[faction] guard - [name]" in the main window. - so i m not sure about it... cannon is the man to answer that, he s the coding wizard.

*Sighs* Alright i have a great offer for you and anyone who have a problem with "HIS" rep sheet.
Its on your side, and say you want to have zoner guards neutral you will have to make them so, About pirate thingy... pirates run without IFF's and Freelancer IFF's as well.. So its actually wont solve all of your problems.

What we need to do here is tag everybody with the 'basic' reps, make guard reps able to get to .9 ...
but they cannot be tagged, they are default hostile, this is wrong, but you cannot change that or Guard will be pointless.

Script Guard Factions to NEVER TAG.
get them to .9 , get the guard ID, fly under the BASIC [Faction] Tag!
CORRECT Hostile/Neutral/Friendly will result.

Guards are not friendly nor neutral to most companies. As a matter of logic.
Ever seen a Navy Seal coming over to you for lunch? During his duty?
Me not.

So its alright when Guard Forces show up hostile to all who are not part of the respective faction.

And for the 'regular' faction members of said Guard faction; Guard should be neutral to them, so I cant see an issue here either.

(Excuse if I killed the mood again, I somehow have an ability for that)

On that note, how come they haven't been adjusted in any way? I thought it was just based on the short name, as FLStat lists it as. At the very least, the Bounty Hunter Guild Guard should show up as Core- if you ask me. I'd like for them all to get adjusted though.
